MEDUSA Olaf Von Bohr Così chiamata per la sua forma sinuosa, capace di creare atmosfera molto soft. “...Chi vedeva la testa di Medusa restava pietrificato...” Circa 40.000 persone, negli anni settanta, hanno vissuto in prima persona questa citazione del dizionario dei simboli davanti alle vetrine dei tanti punti vendita dei nostri partners che esponevano Medusa. Realizzata assemblando attorno a un cerchio di acciaio lamelle piegate e verniciate. Le lamelle formano così un diffusore di luce particolarmente morbido. Sinuosa e ammiccante, abbina i principi di un design lucido e minimal a una carica di sogno e poesia intramontabili. Questa lampada è presente presso la Mostra Permanente del Design Italiano della Triennale di Milano e nei più prestigiosi design center.
Named in recognition of its sinuous lines, Medusa is perfect for creating a superbly informal and intimate atmosphere. “...Whoever beheld Medusa’s head would be turned into stone...” In the ‘70s around 40,000 people experienced a semblance of the meaning of this quotation from “A Dictionary of Symbols”, transfixed when they observed Medusa on display in the store windows of our many partners offering this remarkable luminaire for sale. Medusa is created by assembling a series of shaped lacquered strips about a steel hoop. The strips form a unique diffuser that creates a sensually soft lighting effect. Sinuous and seductive, Medusa combines the principles of intelligent and minimalist styling with timeless overtones of dreams and poetry. This luminaire has earned a place in the Permanent Collection of Italian Design of La Triennale di Milano and can also be viewed in top design centres.

Réalisée par l’assemblage de lamelles pliées et peintes autour d’un cercle en acier. Les lamelles forment ainsi un diffuseur de lumière particulièrement tamisée. Sinueuse et complice, elle allie les principes d’une ligne minimale lucide à une charge de rêve et de poésie indémodables. Cette lampe est présentée à l’exposition permanente du design italien qui se tient de La Triennale di Milano et dans les centres de création les plus prestigieux.
Medusa erhielt diesen Namen aufgrund ihrer geschwungenen Form, die eine weiche Atmosphäre erzeugt. “...Jeder, der das Haupt der Medusa ansah, erstarrt sofort zu Stein...“ Etwa 40.000 Menschen haben in den 70-er Jahren dieses Zitat aus dem Wörterbuch der Symbole in den Schaufenstern der zahlreichen Geschäfte unserer Handelspartner gesehen, die Medusa ausstellten. Die Ausführung besteht aus einem Stahlring, um den gebogene und lackierte Lamellen montiert sind. Die Lamellen bilden einen Diffusor mit einer besonders weichen Lichtverteilung. Geschwungen und rätselhaft, eine Verbindung zwischen klarem und minimalem Design auf der einen Seite und unvergänglichem Traum und Poesie auf der anderen Seite. Diese Leuchte wird bei der ständigen Ausstellung des Italienischen Designs bei der Mailänder Triennale und in den bekanntesten Designzentren ausgestellt.

Se ha realizado montando láminas dobladas y pintadas alrededor de un círculo de acero. De esta manera, las láminas forman un difusor de luz especialmente suave. Sinuosa y atractiva, combina los principios de un diseño brillante y minimalista con un toque de sueño y de poesía imperecederos. Esta lámpara se encuentra en la exposición permanente del diseño italiano de La Triennale de Milán y en los más prestigiosos centros de diseño.

A unique centrepiece luminaire styled in accordance with the forms of the natural universe. The name Pistillo comes from the female reproductive organ of flowers. The attraction of the design and styling are particularly evident in the chrome plated body and the arms that embrace the central lamp. Designed by Studio Tetrarch in 1970, this luminaire has continued to exert its original appeal right through to the 21st century. Pistillo is a creatively styled and wholly contemporary luminaire that adapts perfectly to all types of settings.

HEBI Isao Hosoe Siamo all’inizio degli anni 70. Di questo periodo sono i primi oggetti che portano il giovane designer all’attenzione del pubblico, come la lampada Hebi, prodotta da Valenti nel 1972. Un oggetto che, in qualche modo, è rappresentativo dei temi progettuali dell’epoca per le sue caratteristiche di ready made e di ricerca ergonomica: la lampada è composta unicamente da elementi preesistenti – un tubo metallico flessibile ricoperto in PVC – che consentono di modificare la forma e la posizione, nonché il tipo di illuminazione. HEBI rivoluzionò la concezione di lampada da tavolo presentandosi con la forma della flessibilità ed orientabilità.

Moving forward to the early ‘70s. This was the period in which the objects created by the young designer began to attract real public interest, like the Hebi luminaire, produced by Valenti in 1972. This object manages to incorporate the essence of design thinking in the period thanks to its ‘ready-made’ connotations and the evidence of ergonomic research: the luminaire is fashioned entirely from existing parts – a PVC clad flexible metal tube that can be moulded to modify its shape and position and hence the resulting lighting effect. HEBI revolutionised the identity of the table lamp, introducing the concepts of flexibility and adjustment of lighting angle.
Nous sommes au début des années 70. C’est de cette époque que datent les premiers objets qui attirèrent l’attention du public sur le jeune créateur, comme la lampe Hebi, produite par Valenti en 1972. Un objet qui, en quelque sorte, est représentatif des thèmes conceptuels de l’époque en raison de ses caractéristiques de formule toute faite et de recherche ergonomique : la lampe se compose uniquement d’éléments préexistants – un tube métallique flexible revêtu de PVC – qui permettent de modifier la forme et la position ainsi que le type d’éclairage. HEBI révolutionna le concept de la lampe de table en se présentant sous une forme flexible et orientable.
Anfang der 70-er Jahre: Aus dieser Zeit stammen die ersten Objekte, durch die der junge Designer die Aufmerksamkeit der Öffentlichkeit auf sich zieht, wie z. B. die Leuchte Hebi, die von Valenti 1972 produziert wird. Das Objekt ist aufgrund ihrer Eigenschaften Ready-made und der ergonomischen Aspekte in gewisser Weise stellvertretend für die Konzeptionslinie dieser Epoche: Die Leuchte besteht lediglich aus existierenden Formelementen, wie einem biegbaren, mit PVC überzogenen Metallrohr, mit dem die Form und Position der Leuchte und die Beleuchtung selbst verändert werden können. HEBI hat das Konzept der Tischleuchte verändert, indem mit ihr die Flexibilität und Schwenkbarkeit von Leuchten eingeführt wurden.

A este periodo pertenecen los primeros objetos que hacen que el público se fije en el joven diseñador, como la lámpara Hebi, fabricada por Valenti en 1972; un objeto que, en cierto sentido, representa el concepto de diseño del aquella época por sus características de “ready made” y de ergonomía. La lámpara está formada únicamente por elementos ya existentes – un tubo metálico flexible recubierto con PVC – que permiten modificar la forma y la posición, así como el tipo de iluminación. HEBI revolucionó la concepción de lámpara de mesa al presentarse con una forma flexible y orientable.

Si voleva creare una lampada veramente “servizievole” con una bella luce orientabile in tutte le direzioni che si potesse disporre nella posizione voluta e lì rimanesse senza ricorrere a molle o frizioni. Equilibrata, che si potesse alzare o rialzare, che ruotasse sulla base, che non desse ingombro sul piano di lavoro e che non desse abbagliamento. Una icona del design moderno e funzionale.

Acclaimed in the pages of “INTERIOR DESIGN” as “the best lamp that has ever been invented”. A classic article in the history of lighting design. The original project was aimed at creating a thoroughly practical luminaire, with a powerful light source that could be oriented in all directions and that would hold its position without requiring complex spring or friction bearing systems. And the luminaire was also to be perfectly balanced, easily rotated on its base and offer freedom of vertical adjustment while occupying minimum space on the worksurface and never creating disturbing conditions of glare. In short, an icon of contemporary and functional design.

Es sollte eine wirklich “nützliche” Lampe mit einem angenehmen und in alle Richtungen einstellbaren Licht entworfen werden, die in die gewünschte Stellung gebracht wird und in dieser Stellung auch ohne Federn oder Halterungen verbleibt. Ausgewogen, höhenverstellbar, auf ihrer Basis drehbar, platzsparend auf der Arbeitsplatte und blendfrei. Ein Symbol des modernen und funktionalen Designs.
