Smart Girls (Ages 9-12)

Tuesday, August 10, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Giving Girls confidence! SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls. This month’s topic is focusing on creating a community.

Torch Club (Ages 9-12)

Tuesdays, 3:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Torch Clubs are chartered small group character and leadership clubs for boys and girls. Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which young people develop and strengthen their 21st century leadership skills, giving them a firm foundation of good character and integrity. Members work together to implement projects in four focus areas: service to Club and community, education, health& fitness, and social recreation. This month discussion will focus on why it is import to run for office and what the responsibilities of those positions are. • August 3: Welcome new members and introduce goals of Torch Club. • August 10: What traits make a good leader? • August 17: Start working on National Project. • August 24: Provide input for future activities • August 31: How can we build a better Community. Outreach to non-members.

Keystone Club & Teen Council Meeting (Ages 13-18)

Thursdays, 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Keystone Club provides leadership development opportunities for young people and participate in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation, and community service. Members have opportunities to earn scholarships, work force development, and be an advocate for their social platform. Fitness Run (Ages 5-18)

Fridays, 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Welcome back runners! After a busy summer with far too few Fitness Run meetings, we are getting back into the swing of regular weekly meetings. Congrats to everyone who completed their Youth Center Marathons! We are now shifting our focus. Each week we will tackle a different running challenge, from “Urban Sprints” to “Reverse Runs”. Expect a thoughtful warm-up at the beginning of each session. As usual meet at the Youth Center because running locations will vary. See you there!

Knee high jumps • August 10: Take a minute stop think, breath, meditate. • August 17: Five Minute Fitness Challenge (high knee running in place) • August 24: Find someone you can talk to openly if you’re stressed. • August 31: Choose a snack to fuel your body in a healthy manner. 26

Friday 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Baseball continues) Triple Play is a dynamic wellness program that is designed to help youth create opportunities to take charge of their personal health and wellness and to create healthy habits for the mind, body, and soul. STEAM Center of Innovation (Ages 5-18)

Mondays & Thursdays (Pre-Teens) : 2:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesdays (Ages 5 to 8) : 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays & Fridays (open to all ages 9-18) : 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. The STEM room is open again, five days a week! Join staff for directed activities like Mystery Science and other cool STEM projects, or just stop by for some solo time on a computer, using 3D pens, building robots, and much more.
