The Cherry Tree Bolton's Best Restaurant 2020 NOW OPEN AFTER £900,000 REFURBISHMENT Voted Bolton's best restaurant in 2020 the Cherry Tree is now open after completing a £900,000 refurbishment with a new Garden Room showcasing a floral setting for a sumptuous dining experience. The restaurant has increased its capacity from 100 to 170 but has retained the same prestigious team of chefs and restaurant staff. The Cherry Tree is the first winner of this very prestigious award from the Bolton News in conjunction with the Bolton food and drink festival. Readers voted for their favourite eatery in the Bolton and surrounding areas with the Cherry Tree coming out on top in a landslide victory. The successful restaurant started its life back in August 2010 when Paul & Catherine Taylor along with their son Tom purchased the then named Thatch & Thistle pub located on the main A6 road on the edge of the village of Blackrod The Cherry Tree welcomes many famous TV and sporting celebrities and has a very loyal customer base. This has been achieved through the hard work
and a passion shown by every member of the team, a passion that will always be visible to customers new and old who dine at The Cherry Tree. Tom works very closely with his team of ten chefs and together they create dishes that appeal to every discerning palate. The menu changes regularly allowing the chefs to utilise the freshest of local produce available throughout the seasons. Tom and the kitchen team are very proactive with the menu design and also offer a fabulous selection for vegans and vegetarians. The Cherry Tree boasts a beautiful bar area and lounge where their customers can sample an extensive drinks menu including their famous cocktails which can be enjoyed with views of Rivington and the surrounding countryside. The new Government Social distancing guidelines will be in-force and each member of the staff has completed the ‘Ready to Serve’ safe to trade training, following lockdown administered by the Institute of Hospitality.
