Redefining A Future

Advocate 4KIDS was our biggest gathering of world changers yet! Hosted at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale, over 2,000 advocates came together to hear a powerful message from speaker Nick Vujicic and special music by Jimmy Needham. Together, businesses, churches, and passionate individuals from six different counties discovered how they can make a difference for children in foster care. All those in attendance were empowered to believe that it only takes one person to redefine a child’s future, and leave a life-changing impact for generations to come!

During the month of May, the goal is to increase the momentum gained at Advocate 4KIDS. Since 1988, May has been recognized as National Foster Care Month across the United States, and this year, Florida’s governor officially declared that our state would be adopting this as well.

Let’s use this month as an opportunity to educate the community on the foster care crisis happening in our own backyards.

Due to no fault of their own, 6 to 10 kids are removed from their homes because of abuse, abandonment, or neglect every day. If there are no other relatives or friends who can take them in, these kids end up in the foster care system. And right now, the number of kids being removed far outweighs the number of foster families available.

As a 4KIDS Defender, you are a critical part of a life-changing movement for kids. You are the foundation by which the mission and vision of 4KIDS can continue to build on by bringing hope, homes, and healing to every hurting child. The stories inside this edition of the Defender Newsletter simply wouldn’t be possible without you, so be encouraged by these pages filled with hope and transformed futures.
