The dense and far-reaching mist created by the impressive volume of water from the rapids and the waterfalls causes changes to relative air humidity, fostering the development of a plant cover that abounds with epiphytes, vines and tree ferns, similar to the dense ombrophyle forest of the coastal Sea Mountain Range.
