STAY & PLAY WITH OCALA RECREATION & PARKS // LIKE “OCALA RECREATION AND PARKS” ON FACEBOOK

Through a series of Facebook Live videos, Ocalaʼs Recreation and Parksʼ pros are providing opportunities to stay connected to our community. Past videos have included “Meet the Critters” and “Critter Facts,” virtual tours of the Fort King National Historic Landmark, Quick Fitness and Senior Fitness, Grossology for the kids, easy homemade science projects, how to make bead bracelets and more. To get involved with the videos simply like the Ocala Recreation and Parks Facebook page and turn on notifications. Your phone will alert you when the department goes live at 10am, 11am and 1pm. Pick up a Play Pack that includes the materials needed to follow along at home with crafts and projects. Packs can be picked up at the E.D. Croskey Recreation Center, the Lillian Bryant Recreation Center and the Ocala Recreation & Parkʼs Administration Building on NE Eighth Ave. Bingo cards may be picked up at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center. Take an online tour of Californiaʼs Sierra Nevada region to explore some of the areaʼs most iconic landmarks, including Yosemite Falls, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias and the top of Half Dome. The tour offers breathtaking views of the park complete with sound. Fun Fact: Yosemite is most often thought of as the birthplace of rock climbing for sport.

As the worldʼs oldest national public museum, the British Museum in London is home to many renowned exhibits and famous objects. Roam the halls of the museum and check out collection items, including the Parthenon sculptures, Egyptian mummies and the Rosetta Stone. Fun Fact: The British Museum is older than the entire United States of America. The museum was founded in 1753, and America was founded on July 4, 1776.

THE GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM VIRTUAL TOUR // GUGGENHEIM.ORG/PLAN-YOUR-VISIT/GUGGENHEIM-FROM-HOME This New York City museum is offering tours of the facilityʼs beautiful architecture and all of its galleries. Using the Street View feature of Google Arts & Culture, peruse through the collections, including The Fullness of Color: 1960s Painting, sculptures by Constantin Brancusi, the Thannhauser Collection and more. Fun Fact: A walk up the ramp to the front door of the museum is a 1/4-mile trek and is 1,416 feet long.
