The Symbio Farmyard Now you too can cuddle a cutie at Helensburgh’s zoo. 2508 reports.

2016 was a big year for Symbio Wildlife Park. Our local zoo, owned and operated by the Radnidge family, won two major awards: the Excellence in Sustainability prize at the Illawarra Business Awards and a national Content Marketing Award at Sydney’s AMI Marketing Excellence Awards. Now the opening of the new Symbio Farmyard – one of the largest precincts of its kind in Australasia – will once again shine the tourism spotlight on our world-famous zoo. The new farmyard includes two large barns covering 700 square metres, a chicken coop the size of a three-car garage, and expansive grounds where visitors may feed the animals. General manager Matt Radnidge reckons what

sets Symbio apart from other zoos is that it offers visitors an immersive experience. “We get consistent feedback about the interactive side of Symbio; how close you feel and how close you can get to a lot of the animals – really close, intimate encounters,” he said. Matt – pictured above, with his nieces Isabelle and Lara Aldred – had a chat with 2508. Who designed and built the farmyard? The vision and concepts for the project originated amongst the Symbio team. We have been talking about doing a farmyard project for over five years and have collaborated on what that may look like for that time. Once it became a reality, we engaged
