She and Danny must be taking it as a sign that they were meant to save their marriage.” FROM BREAKUP TO MAKE UP As Star has previously reported, tensions between Julia and Danny, 47 — who already have three children, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 11, and Henry, 8 — have been building for years. Her nasty temper and his laissez-faire attitude sparked regular fights in their household, driving a wedge between the couple that seemed insurmountable. “For a long time, they were struggling to hold their family together,” the source says. “Honestly, many of their loved ones didn’t think they would make it.” Things got worse for the couple after Julia suffered a pair of family tragedies: She lost her half-sister, Nancy Motes, to suicide in Feb. 2014, and her beloved mother, Betty Lou Bredemus, to lung cancer a year later. On the day that Betty Lou passed away, Julia’s friends rallied around the grieving actress; Danny, meanwhile, appeared carefree as he was photographed surfing in Malibu the next day.
