DIFFERENT TYPES OF DEMOCRACY AMERICA

LARANA, INC.
There are several types of democracy practiced in different countries, but in the United States, there are two main types of democracy: direct democracy and representative democracy.

Direct democracy: In direct democracy, citizens have a direct say in decision-making. This type of democracy is typically used in small communities, such as towns or cities. For example, in some towns, residents gather in a town hall meeting and vote on various issues directly.

2. Representative democracy: In a representative democracy, citizens elect representatives to make decisions on their behalf. The United States operates as a representative democracy, with citizens electing representatives at the local, state, and federal levels. The elected officials then represent their constituents in making decisions.

WITHIN THE SYSTEM OF REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY, THERE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY, SUCH AS:

Presidential democracy: A system where the president is both the head of government and head of state, elected by the people for a fixed term.

Parliamentary democracy: A system where the government is formed by the majority party in parliament. The head of government is typically the prime minister, who is elected by parliament rather than directly by the people.

Federal democracy: A system where power is shared between the national government and the states. The United States is a federal democracy, with power divided between the federal government and the individual states.
