SAFETY PRECAUTIONS SUPPORT MACHINE PROPERLY Always lower the attachment or implement to the ground before you work on the machine. If you must work on a lifted machine or attachment, securely support the machine or attachment. Do not support the machine on cinder blocks, hollow tiles, or props that may crumble under ontinuous load. Do not work under a machine that is supported solely by a jack. PREVENT BURNS After operation, the engine coolant is hot and is under pressure. Hot water or steam are contained in the engine, radiator and heater lines. Skin contact with escaping hot water or steam can cause severe burns. Be sure to stop the engine, and let engine and radiator cool. Slowly loosen the cap to release pressure after the system has cooled, then remove it. Engine oil, gear oil and hydraulic oil also become hot during operation. The engine, hoses, lines and other parts become hot as well. Wait for the oil and components to cool before starting any maintenance or inspection work. The hydraulic oil tank is pressurized. Again, be sure to release all pressure before removing the cap.
