VCT control In VCT control, the engine ECM determines the appropriate intake valve opening timing according to the signals from the sensors. According to the engine operating conditions, the OCVs are operated and the VCT assemblies are advanced, retarded, or maintained in the current position to control the intake valve opening timing.
