Replace the inner filter element every third time the outer filter is replaced. After the outer element has been replaced, start the engine and run at full RPM. If the HOURMETER / CODE DISPLAY shows [M0117] (Air Filter Plugged), replace the inner filter element.

Install the dust cover (Item 2) and secure the latches (Item 1) [Figure 10-80-6].

Remove the inner filter element (Item 1) [Figure 10-805]. NOTE: Make sure all sealing surfaces are free of dirt and debris. Install new inner filter element. Push all the way in until it contacts the base of the housing. Install the outer element [Figure 10-80-4].
