A Box with Inner Light The first time I knew about "the space" was in a paper box in hide and seek. I was knocked by the silence and realized that the box became the only item connecting the surroundings and me, which in my future, it becomes the original concept of architecture. Similiar to the theory of Erwin Schrรถdinger's Cat, I couldn't know the inner space of the box if I haven't seen, so I pay attention to create abundant of possibilities people may experience in space. What I bring in is only me, however, what I bring out from the box is humanistic value and free artistic expression relating to the design of architecture. Architecture is alive, changable and full of opportunities. I would consider architecture as a box with inner light. I try to light up poetic living attitude in the hostel, the new concept of environment and industry in the factory, the modern green feelings in high-rise building and the free reading inspiration in a book studio underground.

01 Hostel of Poets

01 Hostel of Poets Date: May 2019 to July 2019 Site Location: Pavalosta, Latvia Property: Academic Individual Work Tutor: Deng Qianxin

Nowadays, people are busy in fast-paced lives, and it's harder for them to pick up poems. However, different poets record their ideas diversely with different personalities. How to create houses to show the magic power of peoms farthest? As an individual project, I design a hostel in Pavalosta for relaxing and creating. By selecting typical poets in Latvia, I transform their poems into different types of houses which could help visitors to explore inner world deeply.

Pavalosta

My peoms tries to show the importance of innovation and independence. I’d like a house to light up my mind. Also, drawing a picture could be helpful to create.

Seaside

Pavalosta is a town in the western T h e e a s t e r n p a r t c o n n e c t s t h e Latvia whose residents are familiar with mainland, however, there're still the seaside. blocks of people living near the seaside.

Vizma Belševica I pay attention to write history in my works. It will be nice if the house could attach some exhibitions. With reality my poems could show sincerity.

Imants Ziedonis Let’s be more imaginary! An unusual house could be easier to stimulate our inspiration to create. Oh! And don't forget vodka! Everybody loves vodka!

Blocks near the Seaside

Aspazija A space for people to feel themselves could shorten the distance to poems. Cognition and freedom will be a great theme for the design. People need silence so a yoga room will be useful.

Wide Field of Vision

The site is in the western part of Pavalosta. There's some distance from the blocks of people near the seaside, and several roads connect. However, the place could help visitors get escape from the noises of the crowds, and let them be into unique experience in the hostel.

National epics are the main theme in my work. I’d like a house to show the beauty of order. And how about an outdoor bathing place? That will be super kind.

Surrounded by different plants, natural environment could provide a relaxing space to meet the poems in people's heart. Hostel of poets draws inspiration from Lativan poets, extracts different characteristics from their works and voices different architecture language.

02 Back to Nature Date: August 2019 to October 2019 Site Location: Singapore Property: Academic Individual Work Tutor: Deng Qianxin

With the development of human history, people seek for better techonology to achieve better future. Our industry brings great benefit to the soceity while it is always seen as the enemy of nature. I believe that industry and nature are both friends to human beings, so my architecture tries to combine the two opposite words. As a result, an industrial powerhouse producing natural strength turns into my mind.

Design Concept Green Characteristic Several scenic spots such as Labrador Park and Telok Blangah Hill Park locate nearby. They take within an hour's walk from the site.

As an industrial architecture, the history of transporting energy should be retained for people's memory. According to the natural elements in reality, I extract several natural items to form the museum. As a result, visitors could enjoy diversiform sceneries and feel the deep connection of nature and human industry.

03 Flying Green Date: January 2019 to March 2019 Site Location: Melbourne, Australia Property: Academic Team Work Tutor: Yin Jianfeng

At present, architects set up numerous high-rise buildings to keep pace with era. Our city becomes forest of reinforced concrete and be lacking of biological vitality. As a result, green sightseeing is an important but ignored element in design. To solve the problem, my partner and I try to make the green flying with the high-rise so as to bring the geoclimatic nature to the sky. We want to design a building with natural temperature.

Numerous trees are planted not only to fit with the environment but also to lead the green up.

Abundant Sceneries and Activities

We plant a lot around the buildings in order to lead the nature from the park to the people inside. The green surface could also act as sport place for walking.

Concerning the reading habit and desire, I design a book studio in the central park to awake those sleepy bookworms. Let's take a silent journey underground to meet the world in papers.
