“Nothing can happen nowhere. The locale of the happening always colours the happening, and often, to a degree, shapes it.” -Elizabeth Bowen Our daily routines are forged by countless influences. Some of these reveal themselves while others are buried deep. Locales can help unpack some driving forces behind our most ambiguous behaviors as physical space is potent with proddings that inspire our actions and routines. We can always be asking ourselves what we know to be true about a place and how that truth is influenced (or not) by its locale. We can also always be asking ourselves what we don’t know about a place and listen to what the locale enlightens us to ask.
