Research Ferrocement as a sustainable construction material The research looks into studying ferrocement as a sustainable and cost effective alternative to R.C.C. along with its advantages, disadvantages and scope. Common wealth games Village: Analysis on the basis of Griha The self initiated study explores Common Wealth Games Village in terms of Griha evaluation criteria Safety and Public Open Spaces of Delhi: An Analysis The Seminar research paper and presentation focuses on analyzing the parameters of design and infrastructure of 3 typologies of Public Open space in New Delhi with respect to the safety and security of women and children owing to their popularity namely urban nodes, Streets and Urban haats.

Work Exhibitions Sari Village The visit to Sari Village, Rudryaprayag, Uttarakhand, provided the opportunity to study the − − Vernacular Architecture − − The importance and various aspects of community living − − Sustainable building design And organising the first exhibition of department of architecture and planning IGDTUW on 27th & 28th February 2018 displaying the re-created the settlement design through drawings and models. Vernacular Architecture in Various Parts of India Detail models of Roof Construction Techniques of Vernacular Architecture in Various Parts of India exhibited to Sh. Anil Baijal, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi. Laser cut exhibition Exhibition on Laser Cut Model Displayed to Sh. Anil Baijal, Lt. Governor and Chancellor IGDTUW, Delhi.

INTERNSHIP

Skill Development Center, Delhi The client was an elderly couple with a villa on a corner plot in Sukhdev Vihar, a residential area in Delhi. They wanted to demolish and reconstruct their villa in the same plot. The brief was to design a 4 BHK to be used by the couple, taking into consideration occasional visits by their son. The specific requirements of the clients included a dog house and a party hall.

Facade evolution: The curved wall in the side elevation is to reduce solar heat gain while allowing light to enter.

INTERNSHIP

4 BHK Apartments, Sector 23, Dwarka, Delhi The site was located on a well-connected parcel of land in sector 23, Dwarka towards the south-west Delhi- it was located in dense green locality and is well-connected via Gurgaon and airport road. The metro station is at a walking distance. It is a DDA approved plotted housing. The plot was flanked by buildings on three sides so shafts were prominently used to provide lighting and ventilation.

DESIGN STUDIO: SEMESTER 5

Skill Development Center, Delhi

MSDE has initiated a National Skill Development Mission to achieve the mission of 'Skilled India' and create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities. This is one of such institutes from which skill training will be imparted.

Concepts involved:

1. Concept of eyes on street included by the proposal of shared auto stand in the site opposite to the slum area.

1. Use of AAC Blocks for construction.

2. To ensure social inclustion, pathways are provided through the courtyard, dividing it into charbagh which serves as a covergence spot.

3. The exposed brick finish walls don’t need to be painted.

2. Floors are made of unpolished granite and sandstone.

3. Courtyard improves the microclimate 4. No. of plantations increase by 141% after construction

The design of Contemporary Cultural Centre should be such that the functions are connected in such a way that one function inspires the adjacent one and that in turn inspires the next one. In this way the user is inspired to complete the whole loop of circulation and hence experiences the whole cultural centre.

DESIGN STUDIO: SEMESTER 2

Vernacular Housing: Sari Village, Uttarakhand The visit to Sari Village, Rudryaprayag, Uttarakhand, provided the opportunity to study the − − Vernacular Architecture − − The importance and various aspects of community living − − Sustainable building design Using the data collected through surveying, settlement study and topographic mapping, the vernacular housing was designed for the family of 4 who run tourism business.

Specific spaces were provided for home stay for tourists, kitchen garden, livestock farming and apiculture taking into account the existing contours.

Safety and Public Open Spaces of Delhi: An Analysis Gayathri, S, et al (2020) This seminar is an attempt to analyze the existing scenarios of Design and Infrastructure of the Public Open Spaces of Delhi in view of Safety of Women and Children. Women and Children are 2 typologies of users that are most common targets and are under constant threat while accessing public open spaces. Whilst exploring and using the public open spaces of Delhi, one can experience the fact that the design, infrastructure and planning of these spaces often lack the amenities to cater to the safety of women and children and are inefficient in providing the same. This seminar will analyze the parameters of design and infrastructure of 3 typologies of Public Open space in New Delhi with respect to the safety and security of women and children owing to their popularity namely urban nodes, Streets and Urban haats.
