Overview
Desmone is working with Westmoreland County Community College to design a new general education branch campus in Indiana Pennsylvania. The new educational building is 22,000 square feet, 14,000 of which Westmoreland County Community College will occupy. The new facility which is replacing their aged, outdated and outgrown facility near by includes six smart classrooms, two high-tech computer labs, manufacturing lab, as well as chemistry and biology laboratories. The largest program to be housed in the new facility is for WCCC’s associate degree Nursing program which provides the academic and clinical preparation to start a career in entry-level nursing positions.
Upon completion of the associate degree program, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for the RN (NCLEX-RN) leading to the licensure to practice nursing. In addition, licensed practical nurses (LPNs) can continue to climb the career ladder by enrolling in the Nursing Advanced Standing to AAS for LPNs Program. The space allocation for the program includes a new nursing simulation lab, allied health lab, lecture spaces and ancillary teaching labs.
