VISIT MUSEUM KAMPA

Museum Kampa is a museum of modern art, located in the historical center of Prague. The core collection consists of the art collection of Jan and Meda Mládek, who actively supported Czechoslovak non-conformist artists during their stay in exile in the second half of the 20th century. The permanent exhibition of the Museum is dedicated to the paintings and drawings of František Kupka, one of the pioneers of abstract art at the beginning of the 20th century, and the sculptures of the cubist sculptor Otto Gutfreund.

Museum Kampa also organizes many short–term exhibitions. “Dear Adriena...” marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the most important figures in Czech post-war art and a friend of the founder of the Museum Kampa, Meda Mládková. The exhibition aims to present her work to contemporary generations. František Pavlů – Two Forms is a retrospective of a sculptor and member of the Concretists and Miloš Ševčík – Resonance reveals vibrant masterpieces inspired by undersea life, blending radiant colors with inner tension.

PALLADIUM A

STYLISH STOP IN THE HEART OF PRAGUE

Prague has its grand landmarks, hidden alleyways, and cafés that keep drawing you back. Then there are places that bring everything together: the atmosphere of the historic city centre, contemporary style, great coffee, fashion, beauty, and excellent food. One of them is PALLADIUM shopping centre at Republic Square, just a short walk from Old Town Square, the Powder Tower, and the Municipal House.

Behind its iconic façade in the very heart of the city, you’ll find nearly 200 shops, restaurants, and services – making it the perfect stop between sightseeing, business meetings, or evening plans. PALLADIUM is more than just a shopping centre. It is an urban meeting point where you can treat yourself to a new outfit, a beauty ritual, a quick lunch, a sweet break, or simply enjoy a pleasant stop while exploring Prague.

This season has brought several exciting additions to PALLADIUM. A major fashion highlight is the newly opened Victoria’s Secret store on Level +1, bringing the brand’s iconic world of lingerie, loungewear, fragrances, and beauty products to the centre of Prague. Men looking to refresh their wardrobe can visit Feratt, a new destination for suits and elegant menswear, while fans

of shoes, handbags, and accessories can explore the new ALDO store on Level -1.

The beauty offering has also expanded in recent months. Among the latest arrivals are Ksisters, specialising in Korean skincare, the fragrant world of Bath & Body Works, and Glouw Nails, Hair & Spa. Together, they provide the perfect excuse for a beauty break between shopping and sightseeing – from a new scented body cream to a fresh manicure.

When it’s time to recharge, take PALLADIUM’s iconic glass escalator up to Tasty Garden on Level +2. Here, you’ll find well-known fast-food brands alongside flavours from around the

world: Asian cuisine, running sushi, Thai dishes, Lebanese specialities, Vietnamese bánh mì, Indian cuisine, Neapolitan pizza, burgers, waffles, fresh juices, and ice cream. The newest addition is Dhaba Beas, an international vegetarian and vegan restaurant offering a lighter lunch option in the middle of the day.

And the sweet treats don’t stop there. A new rolled ice cream stand has recently opened on Level -2, and in August, PALLADIUM will welcome Matcha Crew – a must-visit for matcha lovers, refreshing drinks, and trendy grab-and-go treats.

Whether you are visiting Prague for the first time or returning for its unique atmosphere, PALLADIUM is a stop that easily earns a place on your itinerary. Slow down for a moment, enjoy a coffee, discover a new brand, pick up something special, or simply experience the city from a different perspective – stylish, comfortable, and right in the heart of Prague.

THE PŘEMYSLIDS

A RULING DYNASTY AND ITS AGE

[→]WELCOME TO PRAGUE!

Whether you’ve just landed by plane, arrived by train, bus, or car, here is the latest practical information (2026) on how to reach the city centre efficiently and without overpaying.

↓ PRAGUE BY PLANE

Václav Havel Airport Prague is located about 17 kilometres northwest of the city centre. After arrival, you will find currency exchange offices as well as ATMs in the terminals, although withdrawing cash is usually the more favourable option.

For assistance, you can contact the airport’s general information line (+420 220 111 888), which operates nonstop, or the Lost and Found service at +420 220 115 005.

↓ HOW TO GET TO THE CITY CENTER

Reaching the centre of Prague takes approximately 25 to 40 minutes by car, depending on traffic, or around 35 to 50 minutes if you use public transport.

↓...BY PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Public transport remains the most affordable and reliable way to reach the city. Tickets can be purchased easily at vending machines, in kiosks, via the PID Lítačka mobile app, or simply by using a contactless card directly on buses and trams, and at ticket machines in the metro.

The current ticket prices are 30 CZK for a 30-minute transfer ticket and 40 CZK for a 90-minute transfer ticket, both allowing unlimited transfers within the time limit. Longer options include a 24-hour ticket for 120 CZK and a 72-hour ticket for 330 CZK. Luggage is included in the basic fare at no extra charge.

The most common connection from the airport is trolleybus 59, which runs frequently throughout the day (approximately every 3–10 minutes) and takes passengers to Nádraží Veleslavín, where you can transfer to Metro Line A. The journey takes about 15–20 minutes, and from there it is a direct metro ride to the city centre.

Another option is Bus 100, which connects the airport with Zličín on Metro Line B. Although slightly less convenient for reaching the historic centre, it can be useful depending on your destination.

The Airport Express bus provides a direct connection between the airport and the Main Railway Station, with a travel time of around 35 minutes. This service operates on a special fare (around 100–120 CZK) and is mainly intended for passengers transferring to trains.

If you arrive late at night, night bus services operate from the airport and connect to night tram lines, which replace metro services during nighttime hours.

↓...BY TAXI

For those who prefer a more comfortable transfer, taxis and ride-hailing services are readily available at the airport. The official partner service at Václav Havel Airport is Uber, which offers transparent pricing and easy booking via the app or airport kiosks.

Alternatively, services such as Bolt are widely used in Prague. A typical journey to the city centre costs between 400 and 800 CZK, depending on traffic and demand. It is generally recommended to avoid unlicensed taxis and instead use official or app-based services

↓...BY TRAIN

International and domestic trains arrive at Prague Main Railway Station (Praha hlavní nádraží), which is conveniently located close to the city

centre. The station is directly connected to Metro Line C, and Wenceslas Square is only a short walk away.

The station has undergone extensive renovation and now offers modern facilities, including shops, cafés, and fast-food restaurants.

↓...BY BUS

Florenc is Prague’s central bus station and serves both domestic and international routes. It is located near the city centre and is directly connected to Metro Lines B and C. The station has also been modernised and offers clean, well-organised spaces, food options, and clear digital boards displaying departures and arrivals.

↓...BY CAR

Travelling to Prague by car can be challenging due to heavy traffic and limited parking options in the city centre. Street parking is divided into zones, and blue zones are reserved for residents, with strict enforcement.

Visitors are therefore advised to use Park and Ride (P+R) facilities located near major roads and metro stations, allowing easy access to the city centre via public transport.

↓...BY SUBWAY

Prague’s metro system consists of three lines: Line A (green), Line B (yellow), and Line C (red). The network is well designed and provides fast connections to most important locations across the city.

Metro services run daily from approximately 5:00 a.m. until midnight.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Prague’s public transport system is clear, efficient, and reliable, with an extensive network covering the entire city. The fares remain very affordable – 30 CZK for a 30-minute ticket and 40 CZK for a 90-minute ticket.

Tickets can be purchased from vending machines located in all metro stations and at many tram stops (accepting coins and, in most cases, contactless cards), as well as in most tobacco shops and kiosks. You can also buy a mobile (SMS) ticket by sending a text message to 90206. SMS tickets are mainly available for local Czech mobile numbers and may not work reliably for international visitors.

Another convenient option is the PID Lítačka mobile app, which is available for both iOS and Android. It is fully accessible to foreign visitors and allows you to purchase tickets, search for connections, and manage your transport easily without needing SMS or paper tickets. arriving 10

For over 1000 years, Prague has been one of the main political, cultural and economic centres of the Czech lands. Having served as an imperial seat, most notably under Charles IV and later Rudolf II, it also had the status of the Holy Roman Empire capital. The city’s recorded history dates back to around 870, with the foundation of Prague Castle, although evidence shows the area had been inhabited since the Stone Age. The city flourished during the 14th century, under the reign of Charles IV, who, among other deeds, ordered the construction of landmarks such as Charles Bridge and St. Vitus Cathedral, and Charles University, one of the oldest universities in Central Europe. Prague was then one of the most important cities in Europe. Now home to some 1.2 million inhabitants, Prague became the capital of the newly established state of Czechoslovakia in 1918, with the end of World War I and the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1992, Prague’s historic centre became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is currently one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

CHRÁM MATKY BOŽÍ PŘED TÝNEM

PRAGUE 1, STAROMĚSTSKÉ NÁMĚSTÍ

The Church of Our Lady before Týn (Kostel Matky Boží před Týnem) is located in Prague’s Old Town, near Old Town Square. Its construction took place from the mid-14th century to the early decades of the 16th century. It is one of Prague’s most artistically and architecturally significant churches, known for its well-preserved interior. Its western façade, facing the square, is one of Prague’s most iconic landmarks.

PRAŠNÁ BRÁNA

PRAGUE 1, NÁMĚSTÍ REPUBLIKY 5

The Powder Gate (Prašná brána) is a late-Gothic structure and one of the most important monuments of medieval Prague. It was here that the Royal Route began and where one of the main roads from Kutná Hora, where silver from Kutná Hora was transported to the royal treasury, led. The Powder Gate was built in place of the older Gate tower, which formed part of the Old Town fortifications from the time of Václav II‘s reign. The older tower was known as the Mountain Gate. The Powder Gate served both as a ceremonial gateway and a customs collection point.

STAROMĚSTSKÝ ORLOJ

The Old Town Square of the Old Town Orloj (Staroměstský orloj) are medieval astronomical clocks located on the south side of the Old Town Hall tower in Prague.

The first written reference to Orloj dates back to 1410.The clock is made up of several parts - apart from an astronomical and calendar plate, it is fitted with the mechanism of twelve apostles, who appear in two small windows every entire hour (9.00 - 11p.m.). In a parade of apostles, another mannequin on the sides of the clock comes alive in mechanical motion - the reaper ringing, turning the hourglass, indicating to thestanding Turk that his time is up.

He‘s shaking his head away. Vanity and Lakomec behave similarly. The sought-after Orloj is part of the historic centre of Prague, belonging to the UNESCO list of cultural monuments.

CHARLES BRIDGE

Karlův most, Prague 1

The Czech Republic’s capital is full of amazing sights of great value. But Charles Bridge definitely belongs among the TOP 5 most amazing ones. Not only is this medieval building one of the most famous bridges in the world, but it is also inseparably connected to the most glamorous era of Prague and – last but not least – it just might be the most beautiful bridge in Europe. And we are not exaggerating at all. Charles Bridge is 516 meters long, 9.5 meters wide, 13 meters high, and stands on 15 pillars. It’s also the part of the so-called Royal Route.

JEWISH MUSEUM

U staré školy 141/1, Josefov, Prague 1 www.jewishmuseum.cz

The Prague´s Jewish Museum was founded in 1906. It was founded by Dr. Salomon Hugo Lieben, historian, and Dr. August Stein, a representative of the Czech-Jewish movement and later chairman of the Prague Jewish Community. It was supposed to collect documents on the history, traditions and habits of the Jewish population in Bohemia and Moravia. The Jewish Museum owns rich collections of silver, textiles and has one of the most extensive Jewish artefacts in the world. It contains 40 000 artefacts and 100 000 books. It is unique not only for the number of the artefacts, but above all for the fact that they were collected in a single integral territory, i.e. Bohemia and Moravia.

VRTBA GARDEN

Karmelitská 25, Prague 1

Nestled on the slopes of Petřín Hill, Vrtba Garden is one of the finest Baroque gardens in Prague and even north of the Alps. Built between 1715 and 1720 for Count Jan Josef of Vrtba, it forms part of the Vrtba Palace complex in the charming Malá Strana district. Designed by František Maxmilián Kaňka, the garden is a beautiful example of an Italian-style terraced layout. Visitors can admire sculptures by Matyáš Bernard Braun and frescoes by Václav Vavřinec Reiner in the elegant sala terrena. Rich greenery, hedges, statues, and a fountain create a harmonious setting with views over Prague. Carefully restored in the 1990s, the garden remains a preserved Baroque gem open to the public.

A small romantic island called Kampa positioned on the Vltava River in the centre of Prague is scenic place offering a walk among small ancient picturesque houses. In fact it is not a natural island as it was separated from the Lesser Town by an artificial mill raceway called Čertovka (Devil´s Creek). The group of houses among which the Čertovka flows is known as the Prague´s Venice. Natural alluvial deposits and made up grounds material, gradually extended the area of the island especially after the great fire of the Lesser Town and the Castle in 1541. Today, it is a place where the Kampa Museum has its seat. Here, you can see collections of 20th century artworks.

The church of Saint Nicholas at the Lesser Town is one of Europe‘s most prominent Baroque structures. Sometimes, it is referred to as the most beautiful Czech Baroque building. Its massive dome and slender tower are an inseparable part of the panorama of the Prague Castle. Surprisingly, its belfry tower is not a part of the church. There is a separate entrance to it. In addition to the church, you can climb the belfry tower that offers a view of the Lesser Town and hosts a new permanent exhibition called “Custos Turris / the Guardian of the City“. The older exhibition is called The Older Tower Keeper’s Apartment.

NOVÝ SVĚT

Hradčany, Nový Svět, Prague 1

Many people do not have any idea that almost in the centre of Prague there is a small town with its own poetry and identity. The Nový Svět area is a kind of a small district in the immediate vicinity of the Prague Castle, full of picturesque corners and harmony. Actually, it was a suburb of the Castle Area (Hradčany) that was founded in the mid-14th century along an old road heading the village of Střešovice. In 1360, it became a part of Hradčany by decision of the emperor Charles IV. It was integrated to the designed city fortification system. The origin of this part of Hradčany is not exactly known, but it was probably a forecourt of the Prague Castle positioned on a gradually filled ravine and the Brusnice stream valley.

Fata Morgana Greenhouse in Prague offers a unique journey through exotic landscapes all year round. This modern, S-shaped structure is built into rocky terrain, creating a natural backdrop for diverse plant life. Inside, visitors explore three climate zones across 1,750 m², featuring tropical and subtropical flora along a 225-meter path. The first section showcases dry tropics, including Australian bush, Madagascar plants, and vegetation from Mexico and southern Africa. It’s an ideal escape into nature for families and curious explorers alike, right in the city, perfect for all ages, offering a peaceful and inspiring experience.

LETNÁ

Prague 7

Perched high above the Vltava River, Letná offers one of the most captivating views in all of Prague. This leafy neighborhood blends relaxed local life with a quietly vibrant cultural scene. Start your stroll in Letná Park, where wide paths lead to breathtaking panoramas of bridges and red rooftops. At its heart stands the Metronome, a striking symbol of the city’s shifting history. As the day softens, the famous Letná Beer Garden fills with laughter, clinking glasses, and the golden glow of sunset through chestnut trees. Skaters, artists, and friends gather here, giving the area its effortlessly cool energy. Just beyond lies Stromovka Park, a vast green escape perfect for a quiet wander. Close to the center yet far from the crowds, Letná is Prague at its most authentic—open, creative, and alive.

THE ODYSSEY

Homer’s The Odyssey is undoubtedly one of the greatest stories of human civilization. That is precisely why Christopher Nolan, one of the most acclaimed filmmakers of our time, has taken on the legendary tale, bringing his signature epic scale to the story of one man’s unwavering determination to return home after an endless war.

Odysseus (Matt Damon) is the king of the Greek island of Ithaca who, according to legend and Homer’s epic poem, devised the famous Trojan Horse, helping the Greeks deceive the defenders of Troy and finally bring the long and exhausting siege to an end. Once the war is over, Odysseus longs for only one thing: to return home to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and his son Telemachus (Tom Holland).

But according to myth, his actions have angered the gods, who decide to make his journey home as difficult as possible. It is for this reason that the word “odyssey” has become synonymous with a long and arduous journey filled with obstacles that pull a traveler away from their destination rather than toward it. While Odysseus battles gods, giants, the enchanting sorceress Circe, and countless other dangers, Penelope must

fend off the suitors determined to claim both her hand and the throne of Ithaca.

Christopher Nolan is renowned for his commitment to practical filmmaking, preferring real locations and in-camera effects over digital solutions whenever possible. “When I write, I try to visualize the film and see it through the eyes of the audience,” Nolan explains. “And when I shoot, I want that audience to feel as though they are inside the film itself. I want them to be inside the Horse, standing on the deck of Odysseus’s ship.”

One of the most anticipated films of the year will be available not only in digital projection, but also in traditional 35mm and the spectacular 70mm IMAX format. In addition to the subtitled version, a dubbed release will also be available, ensuring that audiences of all ages can experience this extraordinary adventure.

Director: Destin Daniel Cretton

Stars: Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, Mark Ruffalo, Marvin Jones III

Release date: 30. 7. 2026

Four years have passed since the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Pe ter Parker is now a grown man living in complete isolation after voluntarily erasing himself from the lives and me mories of those closest to him. As New York’s full-time protector, he continues to fight crime in a city that no longer knows his name. But as the demands placed upon him grow ever greater, the mounting pressure triggers a shocking physical transformation that threatens his very existence. At the same time, a mysterious new pattern of criminal activity gives rise to one of the most powerful threats Spider-Man has ever faced. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, who brings a more mature and grounded tone to Peter Parker’s next chapter. We already know that Hulk, Punisher, and Scorpion will all play key roles in the story, while Marvel and Sony are undoubtedly keeping a few major surprises hidden until audiences finally see the film in cinemas.

The quiet town of Bayleen Bay is thrown into chaos when a mysterious ice cream man begins handing out frozen treats to local children. What initially seems like an innocent summer delight soon turns into a nightmare. After eating the ice cream, the children become increasingly aggressive, and the town slowly descends into violence, panic, and madness. And this time, the warnings are no mere marketing gimmick. Director Eli Roth (Thanksgiving) unleashes a full-blown gorefest packed with outrageous carnage, stomach-churning practical effects, and pitch-black humour. Designed for horror fans with strong stomachs, the film promises a wildly excessive and unapologetically gruesome ride that pushes its twisted premise to the limit.

DEVIL’S HEADS

Near the village of Želízy, not far from Liběchov, visitors can discover a remarkable collection of monumental sandstone sculptures carved directly into the surrounding rock formations. Created in the mid-19th century by sculptor Václav Levý, these works rank among the most extraordinary examples of outdoor sculpture in the Czech Republic.

The most famous of them are the Devil’s Heads (Čertovy hlavy), two gigantic rock reliefs carved into sandstone cliffs rising above a pine forest. Standing approximately nine metres tall, they are among the largest rock sculptures of their kind in the country. Levý created the impressive work between 1841

and 1846, long before becoming one of the most celebrated Czech sculptors of the 19th century. His later works can be found in Prague’s Church of St. Charles Borromeo and St. Vitus Cathedral.

The sculptures are freely accessible via the blue hiking trail starting in Želízy. Along the route, visitors can also explore Klácelka Cave and the nearby area known as Blaník, featuring reliefs of Jan Žižka, Prokop the Great, and legendary dwarves forging weapons for the Knights of Blaník.

Additional highlights include the Snake, carved into a rock and split by an axe, and the Harpist, a striking depiction of a woman playing a harp.

MILITARY HISTORICAL INSTITUTE PRAGUE

The newly reconstructed museum offers visitors a look into the history of the military in the Czech Republic from the earliest times to the present day. More than seven thousand collection items are housed in exceptional exhibition spaces. The exhibits are complemented by dioramas, audiovisual elements and QR codes. For the youngest visitors, the museum offers quizzes, cut-out games and haptic objects. The first part of the exhibition is dedicated to the historical period up to 1740. The next exhibition presents the historical period from 1740 to 1914. In the exhibition of the First World War 1914 - 1918, the connecting motif is a train that imaginatively takes the visitor to the trenches. The next part of the exhibition focuses on the period 1918 to 1938, starting with the return of Czechoslovak legionaries to Czechoslovakia, continuing with the formation of the Czechoslovak Legion. The final section is devoted to the political situation in the 1930s. The extensive exhibition 1938 - 1948 covers the period after Munich, the Second World War and the post-war period. There are unique objects on display, such as Otakar Jaroš‘s pistols or the personal belongings of paratroopers. Another part of the exhibiti-

on deals with the events after 1948, when Czechoslovakia found itself behind the Iron Curtain. The final part is devoted to the period from November 1989 to the present day and the involvement of our soldiers in foreign operations.

CAVE OF THE KNIGHTS OF

BLANÍK

Near the town of Kunštát is the Cave of the Knights of Blaník, a unique artificial sandstone gallery hidden inside Milenka Hill. The site was created by Stanislav Rolínek, a talented self-taught sculptor. Inspired by Czech history and legends, he carved a series of life-sized sandstone figures, including the legendary Knights of Blaník. Despite suffering from tuberculosis, Rolínek worked tirelessly on the project. His remarkable talent attracted local businessman František Burian, who supported the idea of creating a landmark that would draw visitors to Kunštát. Today, the cave is one of the region’s most distinctive cultural attractions.

MOUNT ŘÍP

Rovné, 411 87 Krabčice

Mount Říp is one of the most important landmarks and national symbols in Czech history. According to Czech legend, it was the place where the first Slavic settlers, led by Forefather Czech, arrived and chose to make their home. From the summit, he is said to have looked across the landscape and decided that this fertile land would become the homeland of his people, giving the country its name. The distinctive basalt hill rises to 456 metres above sea level and can be seen from far across the surrounding countryside near Roudnice nad Labem. Because of its strong connection to the origins of the Czech nation, climbing Mount Říp is often considered a symbolic experience for Czechs. At the top stands the historic Rotunda of St. George and St. Adalbert, one of the best-known Romanesque monuments in the country.

LUMIA GALLERY

6. THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT PRAGUERS IN ADVANCE!

4)

THEY MUST ALWAYS PLAN SOMETHING

When there is someone with a grumpy expression that points out that he would like to kill you, don‘t take it personally. Prague residents are always in a hurry and still seem to be in a bad mood. In short, it works like that here. But otherwise they are fine!

2) THEY DON‘T WAIT FOR THE GREEN LIGHT

You can also recognize true Praguers by ignoring the traffic lights. In short, he is looking for every possible space that will be offered to him on the road, and when he sees the opportunity, he immediately crosses the street. Red, green, it doesn‘t matter.

3) THEY DRINK BEER, A LOT OF BEER

The Czech Republic is well known for its excellent beer, and the Czechs have certainly never concealed themselves by being able to „send a few pieces“ to themselves. But if you with such a Praguer for a beer, don‘t be fooled. “Going out for one beer” is really just a phrase. Every Czech drinks an average of 142 liters of beer per year, while during an average session, the trained Pragueer handles some 8 pieces and is not even out of his breath.

You will probably feel like lazy, because the Praguers have - it seems - planned perhaps every minute of the day. And this also applies to weekends. It can only be Monday morning and the right Praguer already knows what he will do on the weekend.

5) THEY ARE OBSESSED WITH CARS

Although Prague has one of the best transport links in Europe, if we talk about public transport (train, metro, tram, bus), Prague citizens are still obsessed with driving everywhere. And even though they have to wait in the traffic jams for an hour.

6) THEY DON‘T SEEM, BUT THEY HELP

Praguers are vigilant because someone keeps putting them something on the street or wants money from them. And this is really annoying them. Therefore, when you stop them, they immediately go into defense mode and can look very dull. Don‘t let this scare you. As soon as he realizes that you just want some advice, they change completely and almost leads you to the place. They don‘t seem that, but they‘re sweeties!

THE BEST OF PRAGUE: UNIQUE BREWERY, OUTSTANDING FOOD, UNFORGETTABLE ATMOSPHERE

Located in Prague’s iconic Masaryčka building, designed by Zaha Hadid, FUZE is the only restaurant in the Czech Republic with its own glass brewhouse — brewing fresh, unfiltered beer right inside the dining room. It’s an experience you won’t find anywhere else.

The food is just as impressive. FUZE serves one-of-a-kind dishes made from top-quality ingredients. The legendary Thor’s Hammer — a 700g slow-braised and wood-fired beef knuckle for 2 to 4 people — is unlike anything else in Prague. There’s also the Beef Wellington with truffle mushroom duxelles and demi-glace, and the Shrimp Roll with 12 Argentine red shrimp, cognac cocktail sauce, and fries. And that’s just a taste — the full menu offers more, including monthly specials that bring seasonal variety.

With two floors and outdoor seating, FUZE offers one of the largest and most original restaurant interiors in Prague. The design blends modern architecture with industrial style, warm wood, leather, street art, and curated details — creating a truly memorable setting.

Live DJ sets every Thursday to Saturday create a lively, welcoming vibe. FUZE is also one of Prague’s busiest lunch

spots, serving around 700 meals daily. Weekends welcome families with a special menu and a small children’s corner. Don’t miss top Czech spirits and coffee roasted just meters away by Made in Coffee.

U PRAVDŮ

AN OLD BOHEMIAN EXPERIENCE

Bring it to the table, let the Truth be revealed! Take a trip back to a time when portions were fairer, ducks meatier, and beer more drinkable. With today’s tip, you will visit the unique and historic U Pravdů restaurant, where beer has been on tap since 1888.

You can visit this Czech delicacy while strolling through Prague. Just choose the silver tourist trail, whose signs are stamped in the curbs and will reliably lead you to Žitná Street. As an attraction beyond the tourist guide, you can take a photo at the house where the world-famous composer Antonín Dvořák lived, as this house is also in Žitná Street directly opposite the U Pravdů restaurant.

The total capacity of the restaurant is 68 seats and it is divided into 3 parts. Main hall, bar and lounge, with a capacity of 42, 8 and 18 guests. On rainy summer days the garden in the courtyard of the house is open with a capacity of about 50 seats.

The history of the U Pravdů restaurant dates back to 1888, when Mr. František Pravda asked for permission to build a gazebo in which he would brew beer according to the law of the brewery. References to the house in which the restaurant is located date back to the 14th century, when the house was successively called U Lajblů, U Chlupů, U Tikánů or Kalivodský. During the Renaissance, it was beautifully decorated, and its

brewery façade with a gable attic was an ornament of Žitná Street.

In the U Pravdů restaurant you will agree with those who enjoy that beautiful time of stylish lamps, carved chairs, old bicycles, black and white photos and traditional Czech cuisine, which was best served by the mothers of Czech grandmothers. The current interior, which has been used since the turn of the millennium, is similar to the original look of the time. Most of the restaurant’s accessories are original or historical. The restaurant serves Pilsner, Polička, semi-dark Ferdinand and unfiltered Unětice. The interior will delight lovers of the First Republic, in whose style it is decorated. Lots of small touches and details will make a proper feast a real experience for all senses.

And what delicacies does this Old Bohemian restaurant offer, among others? Delicious roast pork ribs, roast duck, rabbit on spinach and bacon, pork, dumplings, very, goulash or meat skewer. That is just a modest list of what you will be licking your lips for at the U Pravdů restaurant. And believe me, this is no tourist trap. Even the biggest Czech patriots will be thrilled to try the local cuisine.

And we have to mention the helpful service that will advise you. After all, Czech cuisine is quite specific, so do not be afraid to have anything recommended. Personally, we would bet that whatever you choose, you will not regret it, but you cannot give anything for asking.

So, if you intend to visit an honest old Bohemian restaurant while wandering around Prague, you will not go wrong at the U Pravdů restaurant. Whether we are talking about food, drink or the overall concept, everything here is exactly as it should be. The place is in a great location, you will feel the atmosphere of a traditional Czech restaurant in the best possible sense of the word and you will be delighted by its offer. This is what a proper cultural and gastronomic experience should look like.

U VÁHY: A SMÍCHOV INN WHERE TRADITION STILL CARRIES WEIGHT

Some places cannot be created overnight. They take years, decades, sometimes even centuries to become what they are.

One such place is U Váhy , a historic inn on Nádražní Street in Prague’s Smíchov district. At first glance, the building may seem unassuming, yet behind its walls lies a story of old Smíchov, family tradition, honest Czech cooking, and a kind of hospitality that has become increasingly rare. U Váhy is not simply a place to enjoy a beer or lunch. It is a house with a memory.

A House That Has Stood for More Than Three Centuries

The history of the building reaches far back into the past. It already appeared on maps in 1713 and originally belonged to the Schwarzenberg estate. Since then, the entire neighbourhood around it has transformed—from a suburban

settlement to an industrial district and eventually into the vibrant urban centre that Smíchov is today. The house, however, remained. And with it remained a distinctive atmosphere that cannot be recreated through design or decoration. It exists only in places where generations of people have met, shared stories, and lived their lives.

More Than 250 Years of Hospitality

The tradition of hospitality in this building has continued uninterrupted for over 250 years. Throughout the centuries, owners, innkeepers, bartenders, and guests have changed, yet one thing has remained constant: people have come here for food, beer, conversation, and simple moments of comfort. Regular patrons sat alongside local families, brewery workers, travellers, neighbours, craftsmen, and colourful characters from old Smíchov. Every era left its mark, and

together those traces created the authentic atmosphere that visitors still experience today. The inn was once known as U Škrobařů, but its current name, U Váhy (“At the Scale”), comes from the municipal weighing station that once stood opposite the building. Over time, the name became synonymous with one of Smíchov’s enduring landmarks.

The Pašek Family Legacy

A defining chapter began in 1917, when František and Marie Pašek purchased the property just two days before Christmas Eve. Since then, the story of U Váhy has been closely tied to the Pašek family. Today, Andělka and Petr Pašek continue that legacy. Their goal is not to turn U Váhy into another anonymous restaurant, but to preserve its spirit, history, and First Republic atmosphere. They want guests to feel that they have entered a place where history was truly lived. That is what makes U Váhy special.

Traditional Czech Cuisine in a First Republic Setting

Today’s U Váhy welcomes visitors into an interior inspired by the elegance of the First Czechoslovak Republic. Guests can enjoy traditional Czech cuisine prepared according to classic recipes, quality draught beer, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The inn is equally suited for a casual meal, a family gathering, a business event, a private celebration, or simply an afternoon spent with friends. Some occasions deserve a setting with a story behind it.

A Place with a Soul

Many new restaurants and bars continue to open across Smíchov—modern, stylish, and carefully designed. U Váhy is different. Its charm does not come from trying to be new. Its charm comes from remembering. It remembers old Smíchov, generations of families, the work of innkeepers, the voices of regular guests, the aroma of the kitchen, and the lively conversations that once filled traditional Czech pubs. Places where people gathered not only to eat and drink, but to share their lives. That is why U Váhy still matters today.

Experience

a

Piece of Living History

U Váhy is more than just another restaurant on Prague’s map. It is a Smíchov tradition, a family story, and a place where the past naturally meets the present. Stop by for lunch, a beer, a celebration, a gathering, or simply for the feeling of stepping into a house where hospitality still carries real weight.

The restaurant positions itself as “fusion” in the best sense—familiar classics, nudged into a more contemporary, crowd-pleasing direction rather than overly experimental detours.

A unique sense of place, a wild garden, seasonal cuisine, and natural wines. Nestled within the grounds of the fairy-tale-like Troja Château, Bistro Karel serves everything from brunch to dinners prepared on the grill. It offers a spacious garden and a bright, minimalist interior, and we recommend combining your visit with nearby attractions such as Prague Zoo, the Botanical Garden, or the art gallery housed within Troja Château.

Nestled on the sunlit slopes of Prague’s prestigious Troja district, Salabka is a unique vineyard estate where exceptional gastronomy, winemaking, hospitality, and craftsmanship come together in one remarkable destination. Surrounded by 4.5 hectares of vineyards – the largest planted vineyard within Prague – Salabka offers a peaceful retreat just minutes from the city’s historic centre.

The estate comprises an award-winning winery, a Michelin Guide-recommended restaurant, Prague’s first distillery, and six elegant apartments overlooking the vineyards.

With a winemaking history dating back to the 18th century, Salabka is deeply rooted in Prague’s viticultural heritage. Today, the winery produces distinctive wines that reflect the unique character of its terroir.

While several grape varieties are cultivated across the vineyard, Riesling and Pinot Noir represent the winery’s flagship wines. In 2021, Salabka was named Small Winery of the Year by the Czech Winegrowers Association and the National Wine Centre.

Following an extensive restoration completed in 2014, the estate seamlessly combines contemporary architecture with preserved historical elements. Natural materials, traditional craftsmanship, and modern design create an atmosphere that respects both the site’s heritage and its exceptional vineyard setting.

Restaurant Salabka has become one of Prague’s most respected gastronomic destinations. Under the leadership of Executive Chef Petr Kunc, the kitchen presents refined seasonal cuisine inspired by ex-

ceptional ingredients and contemporary culinary techniques. Guests can enjoy both classic and vegetarian tasting menus accompanied by carefully curated wine pairings featuring Salabka wines and selected labels from renowned wine regions around the world. The restaurant is proudly recommended by the Michelin Guide.

Salabka is also home to Prague’s first official distillery. Equipped with a bespoke Arnold Holstein still handcrafted in Germany, it produces an exceptional collection of grape distillates, fruit spirits, and liqueurs. Its signature product is a barrel-aged grape spirit matured for ten years, distinguished by remarkable depth, elegance, and complexity.

For those wishing to extend their stay, six boutique apartments offer comfort, privacy, and panoramic vineyard views. Combining contemporary amenities with the

tranquillity of the surrounding landscape, they provide an ideal base for exploring Prague, including nearby attractions such as Prague Zoo and the Botanical Garden.

Whether for a romantic wedding, an exclusive private celebration, a corporate gathering, or simply an unforgettable culinary and wine experience, Salabka offers a unique setting where history, nature, hospitality, and craftsmanship come together to create lasting memories.

MATZIP: THE STORY OF AUTHENTIC KOREAN CUISINE IN THE HEART OF PRAGUE

In the historic Josefov district of Prague 1 lies a small piece of Korea, the restaurant Praha Matzip. The Korean word “matzip” refers to a place known for delicious food, and that’s exactly what Matzip serves its guests every day.

Behind this restaurant is chef Donggyu Kwak, who came from the South Korean city of Suwon to share his passion for family recipes. From a young age, he helped his mother make homemade kimchi and dreamed of owning a restaurant where he could offer the world the taste of true Korean cuisine with no compromises or adjustments.

Matzip is not just another Asian restaurant. It‘s a place where traditional recipes are respected, fresh and homemade

ingredients are used, and every dish is prepared with care for both tradition and the customer. From spicy kimchi jjigae, bibimbap, and crispy fried chicken to their specialty tender marinated jokbal, every bite tells a story.

In 2025, Matzip introduced a modern self-service table ordering system that combines traditional atmosphere with innovation and customer comfort. This system allows guests to order at their own pace while learning more about the dishes they’re enjoying.

Matzip is not just about food. It’s about the experience. A place where culture, flavour and honesty come together. If you’ve never tasted real Korea before, start here.

HARLY‘S BAR

A place where nothing is forbidden and where even the biggest lambs become nocturnal animals. If Mirek Dušín were to enter this establishment, he would become a rock star. You want to experience a really wild party that you cannot get home from until dawn? Harly’s Bar will not disappoint.

Welcome to one of the most exciting clubs in Prague. And this is no newcomer. Harly’s Bar in Dlouhá Street is now a legend, and its patrons cannot get enough of it. They have good reason to keep coming back. Actually, they have several reasons.

Reason number one: You love rock and independence. Both of which are reflected in the atmosphere of the place in the best way. If you have a problem with one or the other, move on down the block. This place would make you feel like Alice in Wonderland after you have ingested the sponges.

The second reason: the drink menu is really great. The cocktails are the backbone of the place and it is no problem to agree with the bartender on almost anything if he has on hand. A bonus is the excellent prices for a similar location.

And the third reason? Absolutely luxurious location! Harly’s Bar is just a few steps away from the Old Town Square. In practice, this

means that it does not matter what time your excursion to this “Hell on Earth” (pun intended) ends. You will always be close to the various modes of public transport and the swarm of taxi drivers that regularly circle the club until the morning. But enough of the introductory talk – it is time to describe the space itself so you know what is actually waiting for you at Harly’s.

You will want to tune in as soon as you enter. That is because there is no charge to get into the club. It may seem like a trivial triviality, but many clubs today benefit from mandatory entry fees. After you drop your stuff off in the cloakroom, your excursion through the entire venue can begin, which is accessed via the stairs downstairs. Harly’s Bar is located in the basement of the building and is shaped like a long noodle. At first glance it does not appear to, but it can hold an unexpected amount of people. The place itself has two bars (a large and a small one), a dance floor, normal tables and a few circular seats. It is a good idea to arrive early if you want to sit down. Harly’s has no shortage of visitors. But it honestly does not matter what time you arrive. You will not want to sit down anyway.

You will have an assault on your senses during the evening. And not only with

MAGIC WEDNESDAYS

Beat the midweek slump with a night where reality gives way to illusion. From 10 PM, a master magician and our bartenders’ signature “liquid magic” cocktails turn an ordinary Wednesday into an unforgettable show.

MYSTERIOUS THURSDAYS

So, what do you mean by Harly’s Bar? Well, it is a place where no one is bored, where you will easily kick back one drink after another, where you can dance on the table on weekends and weekdays, and where the bartenders party with you. It is a club that brings out a whole other side of people. It is a place to party or have a birthday party. Why? Because they will be as wild as the place itself – the bartenders will chain you up, tie you to the wall, pour ice in your pants, spray you with whipped cream, in short, they will prove to you that they enjoy their work and you will have fun with them.

So, if you prefer a rock blast to pop pomade and you are sick of all those glitzy venues with shamrocks in tight pants and girls looking like plastic mannequins, head to Harly’s Bar, which will offer you the atmosphere of a proper American rock venue. The attentive service, with the added bonus of a midnight fire show, special drinks, music all night that will get everyone rocking, and an atmosphere you will not forget. Just a party that will get you in the mood for the next day.

Step into a world of mystery and illusion where nothing is quite as it seems. Starting at 10 PM, enjoy mind-bending entertainment, a specially crafted mystical cocktail, and the classic Harly’s atmosphere with a mysterious twist.

BORN TO BE WILD FRIDAYS

Leave the week behind and kick off the weekend with a full-throttle rock ’n’ roll party. At Harly’s, the only rule is to live loud, dance hard, and keep the good times going until sunrise.

SATURDAY’S HIGHWAY TO HELL

Jump on the wildest ride in town and experience a Saturday night fueled by freedom, rock ’n’ roll, and nonstop energy. This is no night for quiet drinks—we’re turning things up and partying until dawn.
