Welcome to Prague! Whether you‘ve just landed with plane, arrived by train, bus or car, we have very important information about how to get to the city centre using all possible types of transport, without wasting more money than it’s necessary.
The airport is located on the northwest edge of Prague, about 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the centre of the metropolis. Your money can be changed in the currency exchange offices or kiosks situated in the airport. Important phone numbers include +420 220 111 888 (General info line - nonstop operation) and +420 220 115 005 (Lost and Found service).
If you‘ve just arrived at the airport, getting to the centre will take about twenty to thirty minutes depending on traffic (if you use a taxi or shuttle service you will find necessary information below). If you choose cheaper but less convenient public transport you have to expect fifty minutes on the road.
The bus is the cheapest way to get to the city centre. The disadvantage may be that you need to buy a bus ticket paid in Czech crowns or with credit card. To get the cash, you can use ATMs in the arrival halls of the airport. Or you can buy the actual ticket directly in a kiosk or at the information counter in both arrival halls (open from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.). Furthermore, in the vending machines, located next to the bus stop, or directly from the bus driver (it will cost you a few crowns more). The ticket price is 32 CZK for a transfer ticket, with which you can freely switch among bus, tram and subway for 90 minutes. On the shorter distance and duration of 30 minutes you can use the ticket for 24 CZK (with this ticket, however, it is not allowed to switch among the types of transport). If you have more luggages, you will pay 16 Czech crowns extra.
This is the most likely choice for most people because the BUS # 119 provides the fastest connec
tion to the historic city centre. Depending on the time of day, the bus runs every 7-20 minutes and gets you to subway line A. After boarding remember to „click“ the ticket. Get off at the station Veleslavín (journey from the airport to the subway takes about 15 minutes). Subway entrance is located few steps from the bus stop. The bus runs from 4:23 a.m. until 11:45 p.m. at night.
BUS # 100 connects the airport with the subway line B, get off at the final stop, which is called Zličín. BUS # 100 runs every 15 minutes throughout the day and every 30 minutes after 7 p.m. The ride takes about 18 minutes, but expect another 20-minute subway ride, if your goal is to get to the city centre (Zličín is the final stop of subway line B). Bus runs 5:41 a.m. to 11:36 p.m. hours.
Airport Express Bus service connects the airport with the Prague‘s Main Railway Station and runs every 30 minutes and the journey takes about 35 minutes. You can use the Prague public transport fares or special fares: Tickets for AE can be bought only from the driver for 60 crowns (no additional charge for luggage). AE runs 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
If you have to use public transport at night, the best option is the BUS # 510, which runs between midnight and 3:26 a.m. and connects the air-
-port with stop at Divoká Šárka. Afterwards take the TRAM # 51 which will go to the city centre. Night BUS # 510 runs every 30 minutes.
Companies of Taxi Praha and FIX are managing the taxi service from the Václav Havel Airport. Customers can enjoy free Wi-Fi, ensured availability of cars within 5 minutes of interest order in 24 hours a day, maximally 3-years old cars, advanced language skills of drivers, friendly demeanour, maintaining cleanliness and representative wear of vehicle drivers. Labelled taxis are waiting at the Václav Havel airport in two places – at Terminal 1 at the parking lot P1 EXPRESS and at Terminal 2 at the parking lot P2 EXPRESS - departures. Prices are not burdened with airport charges and therefore are considerably lower, while maintaining a high comfort of vehicles. One-time departure rate is 40 CZK and 1 km will cost 23.90 CZK (order taxi through dispatch call 14 014, +420 222 333 222, 729 331 133).
International trains stop at the central train station - Prague Main Railway Station. The station is directly connected to the subway station (line C), and is just a few steps away from the city centre, from Wenceslas Square. If you drive here after dark, we recommend you to go to Wenceslas Square subway (do not forget to buy a ticket). Most of the station is renovated and offers a modern look with plenty of stalls, shops and fast-food restaurants.
Florenc is the central bus station. Located in the heart of the city and directly adjacent to the subway station Florenc (it is a transfer station between subway lines B and C). As well as the main train station, Florenc underwent a costly renovation and now boasts with very pleasant and clean halls for arrival and departure, kiosks and fast food restaurants (Burger King, etc.). And most importantly, there are a large digital boards showing departure / arrivals times of buses and associated boarding platform.
accurate and its network covers the whole city. Price 32 CZK for a transfer ticket is very reasonable.
Tickets for public transport can be purchased at many vending machines at all metro stations and many tram stops (paid with coins or with a credit card), or in most tobacco shops / kiosks. You can also use the SMS ticket. Send a message on 902 06 and receive a return SMS with a valid ticket.
24 hours ticket: 120 CZK
3-day ticket (72 hours): 330 CZK

Prague, like most European cities, suffers from very heavy traffic and lack of freely available parking spaces (the street with blue coloured areas are reserved for residents and you risk stripping off your car when you park there). That is why we recommend the use so-called P + R (Park and Ride) parking lot, located close to all major highways. More info on www.dpp.cz/en/parking.
The Prague subway consists of three lines - A (green), B (yellow) and C (red). Subway in Prague is designed so that it gets you to all historically and logistically important locations (or at least near). Subway is clear and many stations recently underwent large renovations.
Prague‘s public transport system is generally clear, efficient, time arriving 10
30 min. / 5 stops / Non-transfer tickets: 30 CZK 90 min. / Transfer ticket: 40 CZK
Do not forget to mark the ticket at the first entrance to the subway / boarding the tram or bus. (Ie. Insert a ticket into one of the yellow boxes and have it printed with date and time)

Send SMS on number 902 06, which ticket you require:

For over 1000 years, Prague has served as the political, cultural and economic centre of the Czech state. Having been the seat of two Holy Roman Emperors during the gothic and renaissance periods, it also had the status of the Holy Roman Empire capital. Prague’s history commenced in the year 870, although evidence shows the area had been inhabited since the Stone Age. The city flourished during the 14th century, under the reign of King Charles IV, who, among other deeds, ordered the building of the famous Charles Bridge or Saint Vitus Cathedral, the oldest gothic cathedral in central Europe, and Charles University, the oldest university in central Europe. Prague was then the third-largest city in Europe. Now home to some 1.2 million inhabitants, Prague became the capital of the newly set up Czechoslovakia in 1918, with the end of WW I and the dissolution of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1992, Prague’s historic center became a UNESCO world heritage site, and is currently one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.
PRAGUE 1, STAROMĚSTSKÉ NÁMĚSTÍ
Mother of God Church Before Thine (Kostel Matky Boží v před Týnem) is located in the Old Town of Prague, close to Old Town Square. Its construction ran from the mind-14th century to the first decades of the 16th century.
It is among Prague´s most artistically important churches, architecturaland its surviving internal mobilizer. Its western front, applying towards the square, is one of Prague‘s most famous dominants.
The Powder Gate (Prašná brána) is a late-Gothic structure and one of the most important monuments of medieval Prague. It was here that the Royal Route began and where one of the main roads from Kutná Hora, where silver was mined into the royal treasury, led. The Powder Gate was built in place of the older Gate tower, related to the fortification of the Old Town of Prague from the time of Václav II‘s reign. The older tower was known as the Mountain Gate. The Powder Gate was designed largely as a representative symbol as well as a customs collection point.
PRAGUE 1, STAROMĚTSKÉ NÁMĚSTÍ
The Old Town Square of the Old Town Orloj (Staroměstský orloj) are medieval astronomical clocks located on the south side of the Old Town Hall tower in Prague.
The first written reference to Orloj dates back to 1410.The clock is made up of several parts - apart from an astronomical and calendar plate, it is fitted with the mechanism of twelve apostles, who appear in two small windows every entire hour (9.00 - 11p.m.). In a parade of apostles, another mannequin on the sides of the clock comes alive in mechanical motion - the reaper ringing, turning the hourglass, indicating to thestanding Turk that his time is up.
He‘s shaking his head away. Vanity and Lakomec behave similarly. The sought-after Orloj is part of the historic centre of Prague, belonging to the UNESCO list of cultural monuments.

The Czech Republic’s capital is full of amazing sights of great value. But Charles Bridge definitely belongs among the TOP 5 most amazing ones. Not only is this medieval building one of the most famous bridges in the world, but it is also inseparably connected to the most glamorous era of Prague and – last but not least – it just might be the most beautiful bridge in Europe. And we are not exaggerating at all. Charles Bridge is 516 meters long, 9.5 meters wide, 13 meters high, and stands on 15 pillars. It’s also the part of the so-called Royal Route.

The Prague´s Jewish Museum was founded in 1906. It was founded by Dr. Salomon Hugo Lieben, historian, and Dr. August Stein, a representative of the Czech-Jewish movement and later chairman of the Prague Jewish Community. It was supposed to collect documents on the history, traditions and habits of the Jewish population in Bohemia and Moravia. The Jewish Museum owns rich collections of silver, textiles and has one of the most extensive Jewish artefacts in the world. It contains 40 000 artefacts and 100 000 books. It is unique not only for the number of the artefacts, but above all for the fact that they were collected in a single integral territory, i.e. Bohemia and Moravia.

It is one of the most dominant landmarks of the modern city of Prague and a national cultural monument situated just above steep slopes of the Žižkov hill. An integral part of the Memorial is the largest equestrian sculpture in Central Europe, of Jan Žižka of Trocnov, created by the sculptor Bohumil Kafka. The Memorial was built in 1929-1938 to honour those who participated in the struggle for the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic (the National Liberation Memorial). During the Nazi of occupation in 1939-1945, it served as a military material warehouse. It was modified and extended once more after 1945. After 1948, it was misused for the Communist regime propaganda.

A small romantic island called Kampa positioned on the Vltava River in the centre of Prague is scenic place offering a walk among small ancient picturesque houses. In fact it is not a natural island as it was separated from the Lesser Town by an artificial mill raceway called Čertovka (Devil´s Creek). The group of houses among which the Čertovka flows is known as the Prague´s Venice. Natural alluvial deposits and made up grounds material, gradually extended the area of the island especially after the great fire of the Lesser Town and the Castle in 1541. Today, it is a place where the Kampa Museum has its seat. Here, you can see collections of 20th century artworks

Hradčany, Nový Svět, Prague 1
Many people do not have any idea hat almost in the centre of Prague there is a small town with its own poetry and identity. The Nový Svět area is a kind of a small district in the immediate vicinity of the Prague Castle, full of picturesque corners and harmony. Actually, it was a suburb of the Castle Area (Hradčany) that was founded in the mid-14th century along an old road heading the village of Střešovice. In 1360, it became a part of Hradčany by decision of the emperor Charles IV. It was integrated to the designed city fortification system. The origin of this part of Hradčany is not exactly known, but it was probably a forecourt of the Prague Castle positioned on a gradually filled ravine and the Brusnice stream valley.
The Vrtba Garden is one of the Baroque gardens that complete the beauty of Petřín. It consists of terraces at three height levels that are connected by wide staircases. The garden has an area of 0.31 hectares and the highest point is 212 m above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful gardens of this kind north of the Alps. That‘s why it is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is accessible from Karmelitská Street. The fairy-tale environment enchants with beautiful flower beds, antique sculptures, an aviary, fountains, a vantage point and the studio of Mikoláš Aleš. The Vrtba Garden offers a beautiful view of the Prague Castle and the roofs of the houses of Lesser Town (Malá Strana).

After years of thrilling missions, breathtaking stunts, and relentless adrenaline, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) returns in the long-awaited finale of the Mission: Impossible series. Subtitled The Final Reckoning, the film promises not only the conclusion of one of the most iconic action franchises of all time, but also an epic showdown with a threat that goes beyond imagination – one that will determine the fate of the entire world.
Once again, Hunt is up against the mysterious Entity – an invisible, omnipresent artificial intelligence that has spiraled out of control. The theme of AI is more relevant than ever, and the film places it within a spy thriller framework where paranoia, uncertainty, and moral dilemmas take center stage. While its portrayal in the previous installment, Dead Reckoning Part One, came across as somewhat clumsy to some viewers, the sequel aims to course-correct with greater consistency and tension that builds all the way to a climactic confrontation.
What was originally planned as a two-part finale has become a standalone farewell. Yet it delivers everything we love about the series – physically demanding action scenes that Tom Cruise tackles
with unbelievable energy, sharp direction that keeps the pace tight from the first minute to the last, and cinematography so immersive you’ll forget to breathe. This isn‘t just popcorn entertainment – this is craftsmanship at its finest.
Sure, the story involving the Entity may still feel a bit far-fetched, but the film makes up for it with style, atmosphere, and emotional depth. The nostalgia here isn’t just a cheap trick – it’s a natural part of the ending. Hunt’s story wraps up with a sense of respect for everything the character and the series have stood for over the years – courage, loyalty, and the ability to overcome the impossible.
If this really is the final chapter, The Final Reckoning leaves a strong impression. Not just as a punctuation mark on an era, but as a reminder that even in an age of digital effects, real action cinema can still be truly awe-inspiring. Mission accomplished.

Museum Kampa is a museum of modern art, located in the historical center of Prague. The core collection consists of the art collection of Jan and Meda Mládek, who actively supported Czechoslovak non-conformist artists during their stay in exile in the second half of the 20th century. The permanent exhibition of the Museum is dedicated to the paintings and drawings of František Kupka, one of the pioneers of abstract art at the beginning of the 20th century, and the sculptures of the cubist sculptor Otto Gutfreund.
Museum Kampa also organizes many short–term exhibitions. “Mirrors of the Truth – František Kupka: Caricature” focuses on Kupka’s drawing work in the context of French caricature and cartoon satire. Exhibition “EYES” deals with the transformation of the eye symbol from one of the main surrealist motifs (S. Dalí) to an existential level. “Eliška Rožátová: Infinity” will present free and experimental work of this Czech painter, draughtsman and glassmaker.

The permanent exhibition at the Musoleum Gallery features some of the most famous works by David Černý. The space, covering 1,200 square meters and spread over five floors, is filled with the latest pieces, but it also takes visitors back to the beginnings of the artist‘s work. Among the artworks, visitors will find installations that the public has never seen before, as well as displayed designs and architectural projects.
David Černý: He was born and raised in former Czechoslovakia and „knows better than anyone else what oppression means.” With the fall of the Iron Curtain, there was a radical transformation in his hometown—Prague, where he still lives. Černý himself says that he „is not a political animal,“ yet his artworks, unvarnished and confrontational, have everything to do with the truth of the times. According to him, his older works are „more relevant than ever and clearly show that while time changes, the human brain does not.”
Černý, according to many, masters „the art of balancing between controversy and humor like no one else.“ He first gained fame in 1991 when he painted a Soviet tank pink in his native Prague as a war memorial. Since then, his „acts of artistic civil disobedience,“ installations, and
exhibitions have continued to provoke reactions around the world.
This year, Černý sparked discussion with two butterfly sculptures placed on the facade of the Máj department store on Prague‘s Národní Street. Their bodies mimic a Spitfire fighter plane. The sculptures were installed by climbers a week ago. Prague‘s heritage officials have permitted the placement of the sculptures on Máj for one year. Shortly after the installation of the sculptures, some experts criticized them. The Club for Old Prague stated that the design shows signs of typical kitsch, and its overtly appealing motif aims to fascinate while also evoking emotional memories of Czecho- slovak aviators. Černý rejects this criticism.

Seven out of ten European online customers buy goods in e-shops outside their home country, 57 percent even outside Europe. The reason is mainly better prices, wider offer or cheaper transport. Increasingly, they also make decisions based on how they can return goods if they do not like or fit the size.
Of course, this does not mean that customers give up on domestic production. After all, with that, all the shops could clos e. But the foundation is clear - you need to be assertive and be able to offer something unique to your customers that they can‘t buy elsewhere.
And we have prepared such tips for you on the following pages. We chose carefully and promise that in each of the presented establishments you can get something that they would not offer anywhere else. We wish you good hunting!

The newly reconstructed museum offers visitors a look into the history of the military in the Czech Republic from the earliest times to the present day. More than seven thousand collection items are housed in exceptional exhibition spaces. The exhibits are complemented by dioramas, audiovisual elements and QR codes. For the youngest visitors, the museum offers quizzes, cut-out games and haptic objects. The first part of the exhibition is dedicated to the historical period up to 1740. The next exhibition presents the historical period from 1740 to 1914. In the exhibition of the First World War 1914 - 1918, the connecting motif is a train that imaginatively takes the visitor to the trenches. The next part of the exhibition focuses on the period 1918 to 1938, starting with the return of Czechoslovak legionaries to Czechoslovakia, continuing with the formation of the Czechoslovak Legion. The final section is devoted to the political situation in the 1930s. The extensive exhibition 1938 - 1948 covers the period after Munich, the Second World War and the post-war period. There are unique objects on display, such as Otakar Jaroš‘s pistols or the personal belongings of paratroopers. Another part of the exhibiti-
on deals with the events after 1948, when Czechoslovakia found itself behind the Iron Curtain. The final part is devoted to the period from November 1989 to the present day and the involvement of our soldiers in foreign operations.

Shaped to resemble the flight of a night butterfly, it’s near the top station of the Sněžník cable car at an altitude of 1,116 metres. Designed by renowned Brno architect and teacher Zdeněk Fránek, the wooden structure entertains and educates visitors. Information boards detail the building and the Králický Sněžník area. A network of wooden paths intertwines up the mountain. The 55-metre high structure near the Slaměnka hut offers the thrilling sensation of being at heights traversed only by birds.

Deep in the forests of Kokořínsko, nature has carved out something truly unexpected—massive rock shapes that look like giant mushrooms. These sandstone formations, called Pokličky, are one of the area’s most iconic sights. Perched above the ravines of Kokořínský and Vojtěšský Důl, their flat, rounded tops resemble giant caps balanced on narrow stems. The Pokličky are a dream for hikers, families, and photographers, offering dramatic scenery and a touch of mystery. Some of the rocks tower up to 12 meters, and getting there is easy thanks to a short, scenic trail with wooden steps. Nearby, the peaceful hamlet of Hlučov, with its old wooden cottages, completes the fairy-tale atmosphere of this hidden gem in Central Bohemia.

This summer at the South Bohemian Gallery (AJG) in Hluboká nad Vltavou is set to begin in grand style. Starting from June 8, three outstanding exhibitions will open in the Castle Riding Hall, promising powerful visual and intellectual experiences. The gallery invites visitors to deeply reflect on nature, contemporary society, and the very perception of reality.
Maria Bartuszová | A Tiny Void Full of a Tiny Infinite Universe
June 8 – November 17, 2025
Curator: Gabriela Garlatyová
For the first time in the Czech Republic, AJG will present a solo exhibition of one of the most significant sculptors of the Central European region. Maria Bartuszová contemplated the essence of nature and humanity. Her work remains highly relevant today, addressing themes such as ecology, motherhood, and care for people and the environment. Her biomorphic sculptures evoke elements such as drops, cells, eggs, stones, trees, and water. They are quiet, yet powerful. The exhibition follows major presentations of her work at venues such as Tate Modern in London, the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg, and the Venice Biennale.
June 8 – October 12, 2025
Curator: Máša Pivovarová
Enter a world where faces are not specific portraits but subconscious images of our time. Nearly a hundred hypnotic, spectral, or perhaps even demonic masks from the depths of the artist’s unconscious will make you pause — and may even unsettle you. The faces are silent, yet speak to everyone who looks at them. This exhibition is a statement about a society where faces become masks — and about the need to rediscover their depth.
Polách | Four Act
June 8 – November 17, 2025
Curator: Adam Hnojil
Four cycles, four acts, four journeys into a world of tension, dreaminess, and unpredictability. A selection of Polách’s paintings from 2019–2025 feels like scenes from stories you once knew — or are just beginning to dream. Each painting balances analytical thinking with intuition, calm with unrest, and reality with fiction. Four Act is a visual experience that slows
down time and challenges us to see differently. A central theme of the artist’s work is the very process of perception.
The summer exhibition trio at AJG’s Castle Riding Hall is an invitation for all who seek not only aesthetic pleasure but also intellectual depth.

would like to kill you, don‘t take it personally. Prague residents are always in a hurry and still seem to be in a bad mood. In short, it works like that here. But otherwise they are fine!
You can also recognize true Praguers by ignoring the traffic lights. In short, he is looking for every possible space that will be offered to him on the road, and when he sees the opportunity, he immediately crosses the street. Red, green, it doesn‘t matter.
The Czech Republic is well known for its excellent beer, and the Czechs have certainly never concealed themselves by being able to „send a few pieces“ to themselves. But if you with such a Praguer for a beer, don‘t be fooled. “Going out for one beer” is really just a phrase. Every Czech drinks an average of 142 liters of beer per year, while during an average session, the trained Pragueer handles some 8 pieces and is not even out of his breath.
ps every minute of the day. And this also applies to weekends. It can only be Monday morning and the right Praguer already knows what he will do on the weekend.
Although Prague has one of the best transport links in Europe, if we talk about public transport (train, metro, tram, bus), Prague citizens are still obsessed with driving everywhere. And even though they have to wait in the traffic jams for an hour.
Praguers are vigilant because someone keeps putting them something on the street or wants money from them. And this is really annoying them. Therefore, when you stop them, they immediately go into defense mode and can look very dull. Don‘t let this scare you. As soon as he realizes that you just want some advice, they change completely and almost leads you to the place. They don‘t seem that, but they‘re sweeties!

The most famous part of the Bohemian Paradise is undoubtedly the Prachov Rocks, a true haven for rock climbers. This rock town is located 7 km northwest of the town of Jičín. Visitors can choose
The heavily fragmented plateau was formed from sandstone, marlstone, and calcareous claystone deposits during the Mesozoic era. In the Neogene period, small volcanic bodies penetrated the Cretaceous rocks, contributing to the disintegration of the plateau. Over time, the forces of wind and water sculpted it into individual rock blocks, towers, and pillars. The rock formations of the Prachov Rocks reach heights of up to 40 meters.
A dense network of marked hiking trails leads visitors through gorges, ravines, and valleys, across sandstone peaks with scenic viewpoints and enchanting corners. Among the most visited spots are the Bohemian Paradise Viewpoint, the American Grotto, Professor Haken’s Viewpoint, and the Emperor’s Corridor. On hot summer
days, weary hikers can cool off in the natural reservoir “Pelíšek,” named after the spirit said to inhabit these rocks.
Visitors can choose from three marked circuits: the short yellow trail (1.5 km, approx. 45 minutes) offering scenic views and narrow passages, the moderate red trail (2.5 km, about 1.5 hours) with several panoramic viewpoints, and the longest green trail (3.5 km, around 2 hours) that provides a more comprehensive exploration of the rock formations.
Since July 2024, a new Pelíšek’s Children’s Educational Trail has been open. The trail is stroller-friendly and starts at the Tourist Information Center, leading around the Pelíšek water reservoir and back via a path near the Tea Pavilion. The trail is 1 km long and takes approximately 90 minutes to complete.
The location is featured in the successful video game series Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The game has earned acclaim for its historical accuracy and authentic depiction of medieval life.

Near Františkovy Lázně lies the Soos National Nature Reserve, a rare European wetland often called the “Czech Yellowstone.” This unique landscape features a large peat bog with mineral springs and mofettas—vents releasing pure carbon dioxide. A 1.2 km-long educational trail leads across the bed of a former salt lake, now dry and covered with yellow and white mineral deposits. The area’s strange, moonlike terrain is home to protected animals and rare wetland and salt-tolerant plants. Declared a reserve in 1964, only a part is open to the public via wooden walkways.
The first Czech hiking trail to be included in the Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe list runs through the deep valley of the Lužnice River. It is 55 km long in total. The trail through the Lužnice Valley from Planá nad Lužnicí through Tábor and Bechyně to Týn nad Vltavou was added to the Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe list on December 4, 2019. It is 55 km long and divided into
four daily stages. It starts in Planá nad Lužnicí and ends in Týn nad Vltavou, just past the confluence of the Lužnice and Vltava rivers. It is the first Best of Europe trail in the Czech Republic to receive this honor. To be included, the trail must meet strict criteria regarding trail surface, attractions, and service availability. This hiking trail is one of only 19 in Europe on this prestigious list.
The trail runs through the Lužnice Valley (an area known as Toulava). It starts in Planá nad Lužnicí and follows the blue tourist trail along the riverbank to Sezimovo Ústí. From there, it continues along the red trail past the Hýlačka lookout tower to the Pintovka forest park, and then follows the yellow trail to Tábor. The route continues through the river valley along the red trail all the way to Bechyně, and then runs alongside the river to Týn nad Vltavou, where the Lužnice flows into the Vltava. Directional signs and info panels marked with the trail‘s logo will help guide your way.
Bring it to the table, let the Truth be revealed! Take a trip back to a time when portions were fairer, ducks meatier, and beer more drinkable. With today’s tip, you will visit the unique and historic U Pravdů restaurant, where beer has been on tap since 1888.
You can visit this Czech delicacy while strolling through Prague. Just choose the silver tourist trail, whose signs are stamped in the curbs and will reliably lead you to Žitná Street. As an attraction beyond the tourist guide, you can take a photo at the house where the world-famous composer Antonín Dvořák lived, as this house is also in Žitná Street directly opposite the U Pravdů restaurant.
The total capacity of the restaurant is 68 seats and it is divided into 3 parts. Main hall, bar and lounge, with a capacity of 42, 8 and 18 guests. On rainy summer days the garden in the courtyard of the house is open with a capacity of about 50 seats.
The history of the U Pravdů restaurant dates back to 1888, when Mr. František Pravda asked for permission to build a gazebo in which he would brew beer according to the law of the brewery. References to the house in which the restaurant is located date back to the 14th century, when the house was successively called U Lajblů, U Chlupů, U Tikánů or Kalivodský. During the Renaissance, it was beautifully decorated, and its
brewery façade with a gable attic was an ornament of Žitná Street.
In the U Pravdů restaurant you will agree with those who enjoy that beautiful time of stylish lamps, carved chairs, old bicycles, black and white photos and traditional Czech cuisine, which was best served by the mothers of Czech grandmothers. The current interior, which has been used since the turn of the millennium, is similar to the original look of the time. Most of the restaurant’s accessories are original or historical. The restaurant serves Pilsner, Polička, semi-dark Ferdinand and unfiltered Unětice. The interior will delight lovers of the First Republic, in whose style it is decorated. Lots of small details and details will make a proper feast a real experience for all senses.
And what delicacies does this Old Bohemian restaurant offer, among others? Delicious roast pork ribs, roast duck, rabbit on spinach and bacon, pork, dumplings, very, goulash or meat skewer. That is just a modest list of what you will be licking your lips for at the U Pravdů restaurant. And believe me, this is no tourist trap. Even the biggest Czech patriots will be thrilled to try the local cuisine.
And we have to mention the helpful service that will advise you. After all, Czech cuisine is quite specific, so do not be afraid to have anything recommended. Personally, we would bet that whatever you choose, you will not regret it, but you cannot give anything for asking.
So, if you intend to visit an honest old Bohemian restaurant while wandering around Prague, you will not go wrong at the U Pravdů restaurant. Whether we are talking about food, drink or the overall concept, everything here is exactly as it should be. The place is in a great location, you will feel the atmosphere of a traditional Czech restaurant in the best possible sense of the word and you will be delighted by its offer. This is what a proper cultural and gastronomic experience should look like.

Opened in 2025, Špejle’s newest branch at the corner of Jungmannova and Palackého streets is a bold continuation of the beloved Prague concept that rewrote the rules of casual dining. Located just a few steps from Charles Square., this spacious, stylish venue builds on the success of the original Jungmannova location, but introduces new elements to refresh the brand while preserving its playful spirit.
The heart of Špejle is its unique “one skewer, one price” philosophy. Every dish — whether savory, sweet, hot, or cold — comes served on a small skewer, each costing just 33 CZK. This creates an informal, flexible dining experience where guests are encouraged to sample widely and share freely. It’s like upscale tapas, but with a Czech twist and a democratic pricing system that keeps things fun and unpretentious.
The menu is updated frequently and reflects seasonal ingredients and creative pairings. Think mini beef tartare with truffle oil, goat cheese with beetroot chutney, duck breast with cranberry glaze, or vegetarian delights like grilled aubergine with tahini. For those with a sweet tooth, options like mini pavlovas or skewer-sized cheesecakes round off the meal with flair.
Design-wise, the second Špejle venue offers a warm yet contemporary interi-
or with high ceilings, natural light, and subtle industrial touches. The open kitchen concept allows guests to witness the culinary process — a nod to transparency and craftsmanship. Comfortable seating, smart acoustics, and a relaxed atmosphere make it equally suited for casual lunch, after-work drinks, or dinner date.
The bar is no less ambitious. Špejle offers one of the city’s most extensive gin selections, with a menu that allows guests to pair different tonics, garnishes, and botanicals. A small but carefully selected wine list, house-made lemonades, and rotating signature cocktails ensure there’s something for every taste.
Open every day from 11:00 to 23:00, second Špejle is a welcome addition to Prague’s unique gastro scene — approachable, creative, and endlessly re-visitable. It’s proof that a good idea, when done well, never goes out of style.

Located in Prague’s iconic Masaryčka building, designed by Zaha Hadid, FUZE is the only restaurant in the Czech Republic with its own glass brewhouse — brewing fresh, unfiltered beer right inside the dining room. It’s an experience you won’t find anywhere else.
The food is just as impressive. FUZE serves one-of-a-kind dishes made from top-quality ingredients. The legendary Thor’s Hammer — a 700g slow-braised and wood-fired beef knuckle for 2 to 4 people — is unlike anything else in Prague. There’s also the Beef Wellington with truffle mushroom duxelles and demi-glace, and the Shrimp Roll with 12 Argentine red shrimp, cognac cocktail sauce, and fries. And that’s just a taste — the full menu offers more, including monthly specials that bring seasonal variety.
With two floors and outdoor seating, FUZE offers one of the largest and most original restaurant interiors in Prague. The design blends modern architecture with industrial style, warm wood, leather, street art, and curated details — creating a truly memorable setting.
Live DJ sets every Thursday to Saturday create a lively, welcoming vibe. FUZE is also one of Prague’s busiest lunch
spots, serving around 700 meals daily. Weekends welcome families with a special menu and a small children’s corner. Don’t miss top Czech spirits and coffee roasted just meters away by Made in Coffee.

A place where nothing is forbidden and where even the biggest lambs become nocturnal animals. If Mirek Dušín were to enter this establishment, he would become a rock star. You want to experience a really wild party that you cannot get home from until dawn? Harly’s Bar will not disappoint.
Welcome to one of the most exciting clubs in Prague. And this is no newcomer. Harly’s Bar in Dlouhá Street is now a legend, and its patrons cannot get enough of it. They have good reason to keep coming back. Actually, they have several reasons.
Reason number one: You love rock and independence. Both of which are reflected in the atmosphere of the place in the best possible way. If you have a problem with one or the other, move on down the
block. This place would make you feel like Alice in Wonderland after you have ingested the sponges.
The second reason: the drink menu is really great. The cocktails are the backbone of the place and it is no problem to agree with the bartender on almost anything if he has on hand. A bonus is the excellent prices for a similar location.
And the third reason? Absolutely luxurious location! Harly’s Bar is just a few steps away from the Old Town Square. In practice, this means that it does not matter what time your excursion to this “Hell on Earth” (pun intended) ends. You will always be close to the various modes of public transport and the swarm of taxi drivers that regularly circle the club until the morning.
You will have an assault on your senses during the evening. And not only with great music and other visitors (there’s a lot to see), but also thanks to the bartenders who do not like to bore their customers and therefore regularly organize spectacular fire shows. And it does not stop there. If the ladies take a liking to the bartender, he might just put Jack in your mouth from a bottle right on the bar. And do not worry, gentlemen, it is not just for the fairer sex. Harly’s has its fair share of feisty female bartenders.
So, what do you mean by Harly’s Bar? Well, it is a place where no one is bored, where you will easily kick back one drink after another, where you can dance on the table on weekends and weekdays, and where the bartenders party with you. It is a club that brings out a whole other side of people. It is a place to party or have a birthday party. Why? Because they will be as wild as the place itself – the bartenders will chain you up, tie you to the wall, pour ice in your pants, spray you with whipped cream, in short, they will prove to you
that they enjoy their work and you will have fun with them.
So, if you prefer a rock blast to pop pomade and you are sick of all those glitzy venues with shamrocks in tight pants and girls looking like plastic mannequins, head to Harly’s Bar, which will offer you the atmosphere of a proper American rock venue. The attentive service, with the added bonus of a midnight fire show, special drinks, music all night that will get everyone rocking, and an atmosphere you will not forget. Just a party that will get you in the mood for the next day.
