Today, many companies are focused on the basics in order – lowering costs, upgrading outdated IT systems, clearing compliance backlogs. That’s important work, and there are people who excel at it. But my expertise lies in shaping the future and driving transformation. When I 8

She was the first female architect to work in the city’s urban development office and one of the authors of the General Expansion Plan for Amsterdam (AUP). Her detailed design for the street plan and green spaces laid the foundations for post-war Amsterdam.

Despite being the creative brain (alongside Cornelis van Eesteren) and – as the director of the urban development office – the one who actually put the plans into effect, her crucial contribution is sadly often overlooked. Perhaps her relative obscurity stems from her conviction that ‘the work outweighs the person’, but Mulder’s unflagging focus on the human element is something that really motivates me in my own work every day.”

Since moving to The Pulse, Kyra Boog has felt right at home in Zuidas. The 24-year-old has a job in Amsterdam as a project planner for real estate, alongside which she’s taking a course to improve my professional skills in project calculation. Sport is also a big part of her life. She’s on the hockey pitch every week, enjoys playing padel and passionate in ski en snowboarding.

Kyra has been happily living in her own modern studio flat in The Pulse since March 2025.

Can you tell us something about yourself?

What do you do, and what brought you to Zuidas?

“As a project planner, I spend my days planning, preparing and overseeing projects. I work closely with my colleagues, site managers and residents, and that variety makes the job really enjoyable,” Kyra says. “I’m also taking a course to improve my professional skills. I moved to The Pulse in March 2025, where I’ve got a lovely little studio. It’s a modern place that’s perfect for my lifestyle, and the location, near Zuid station, makes living here super convenient.”

What is your favourite spot at home?

“Definitely my sofa. I love unwinding there after a busy day at work or studying. It’s my place to decompress, usually with a good series on.”

What is your favourite spot in Zuidas?

“What I love about living in The Pulse is that it feels like a little world of its own. We have a cinema, a restaurant and a supermarket to come in and around the building. Plus, everything is within walking distance, which makes living here not only practical but pleasant. I feel like I have everything I need right on my doorstep, minus the crowdedness of the city. All those things together make this piece of Zuidas perfect for me.”

Is there anything Zuidas lacks?

“It tends to be fairly quiet after work. I’d love to see a bit more buzz in the form of more restaurants and cafés. Places where you meet friends for an impromptu drink would really make Zuidas more of a social spot.”

Are there any downsides to living in Zuidas?

“Parking is a real challenge. There aren’t many spaces and the rates have gone up a lot, so it can be tricky for friends and family to drop by just whenever. It would be good to have more parking facilities at some point to make Zuidas easier to reach by car as well as by public transport.”
