Undergraduate Scholarship

What it offers:

This scholarship offers a one-time stipend of HK$20,000/- to the recipient for a given academic year. The amount is to be directed towards essential study related expenses for any year full-time student (Year 1, Year 2, Year 3 or Year 4) who will attend any of the tertiary education institutes of Hong Kong listed below. This covers students pursuing an undergraduate degree, associate degree or a higher diploma in Hong Kong.

Preference will be given to students who haven't received The Zubin Foundation (TZF) scholarship in previous years.

What will the scholarship cover?

• HK$20,000 towards study related expenses such as tuition fees, books, a laptop or any other essential educational expense to be pre-approved by TZF.

• The amount will be given in two instalments during the academic year, HK$15,000 at the beginning and HK$5,000 after completion of the requirements of the scholarship in the given academic year. (see below ‘What are the responsibilities of the recipient?’).

• Participate in meetup and mentoring sessions held by sponsors, company mentors and professional coaches.

What are the responsibilities of the recipient:

• Write a year-end reflection letter of what has most shaped the scholar over the past academic year, by 30th June of the academic year.

• Undertake 20 hours of Community Service with any Hong Kong NGO and obtain a letter from the CEO/ED/Social worker of that organisation to that effect.

• Show commitment to attend and participate in TZF’s capacity building programmes as a scholar and alumnus/alumna

• Attend sponsor’s events as scheduled and when invited as a scholar and alumnus/alumna

• Complete a well-being check-up organised by TZF.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Ethnic minority female or male

• A resident of Hong Kong

• Students holding study visa/international students not eligible

• Must have obtained a written offer or proof of continuing their full-time education in 2025-2026 academic year from a tertiary institute mentioned in the list above.

Scoring of Applications:

Total Score: 100 points

• Financial Need: 40 points

• Academic Performance: 30 points

• Leadership Skills: 5 points

• Interview with the Scholarships' Committee: 25 points
