Over the past decade, The Zubin Foundation’s services have touched the lives of many local ethnically diverse individuals via its dedicated helpline Call Mira, Zubin’s Family Centre, capacity building programmes, etc. The influence to these beneficiaries is profound and lasting, which has changed their lives for the better.

Friends, thank you for being here tonight. I can't believe The Zubin Foundation is celebrating 10 years. What a journey it’s been! Your support has helped us grow from a micro-NGO into Hong Kong’s only integrated service provider for ethnically diverse communities, who are among the poorest in Hong Kong. We now serve all age groups, from children to youth to women and the elderly.
Our theme tonight is Going Beyond 10, as we continue our mission to reduce suffering and create opportunities. Every dollar raised this evening will directly support our work, thanks to the generosity of our Title Sponsor, Auntie Purviz, and the late Uncle Rusy, who have covered all event costs. Also, each auction item is self-sourced, and 100% of winning bids will go toward our programmes. Please bid, pledge, and donate generously.

As Chair of the Fundraising Committee, I warmly welcome you to The Zubin Foundation’s Annual Fundraising Dinner 2025.
This year marks a decade of service - a journey defined by courage, compassion, and persistence. A vision to honour Zubin’s memory has become a lifeline for thousands of Hong Kong’s ethnically diverse individuals. Tonight, we celebrate not just the milestones, but the moments of dignity restored, voices heard, and futures reclaimed.
The road ahead remains steep. The Zubin Foundation continues to respond with free counselling, youth empowerment, elder support, and safe spaces for women. And there is still much more to do.

Maitreyi Karanth is a Hong Kong-based stand-up comedian, actor, and philanthropist. As the only female comedian delivering sold-out one-woman shows, she brings laughter and heart to the stage. Offstage, she leads the KOMA KARANTH FOUNDATION, building homes and hope for underprivileged communities in the Philippines.
Her TEDx talk, “Age is Not Just a Number, It’s a Journey,” has inspired over 300,000 viewers. Honoured among the Top 20 individuals of 2023 by the Moodie Davitt Report, she also received the Global Women of Influence award (2024) and AmCham Women of Influence award (2025). Her journey reflects passion, purpose, and impact.

#1 Broken Women
HK$15,000
The Zubin Foundation supports Call Mira callers in distress. What begins as a simple call can evolve into a long and multiyear process of aiding complicated case. Many of these women call themselves ‘Broken Women’.
Though most woman live in poverty, each case is unique. We assist by accompanying them to government departments, medical appointments, and schools, helping them access housing, social welfare, safe shelter, employment and legal aid. Above all, we ensure they feel safe and know they’re not alone.
HK$15,000 is the cost of supporting one complicated case. We support 30 complicated cases each year.

#2 Broken Children
HK$10,000
The Zubin Foundation supports ethnically diverse children facing bullying, anxiety, depression, and self-harm. Many see themselves as ‘Broken’.
These children often suffer from isolation and low selfconfidence. Some face intergenerational trauma, including anger and violence, making the work even more complex. We offer Hong Kong’s only free one-to-one counselling service for these children, with up to 25 sessions and emotional support for parents, to help them heal. We also assist with government subsidies, psychiatric care at public hospitals, and storytelling to better manage emotions.
HK$10,000 enables us to support one child and their family for a year. We aim to help 30 children annually and are seeking support to continue this vital work.

the most vulnerable in our society and it is crucial for us to do this effectively, efficiently and in compliance with the law. We work with over 10,000 individuals per year and are only able to do this work if we understand the various laws and have the necessary skills.
At the end of 2025, there will be a Mandatory Reporting Law on Child Abuse, and all of us need to know how this applies to us and the children we work with. This year we have also undergone training on sexual harassment, sexual abuse and first aid, the National Security Law and basic technology.
It costs as HK$2,500 per employee cost and we have 23 staff.
Founded in 2016, Funjabi Bhangra Hong Kong (FBHK) promotes Punjabi folk dance among Hong Kong’s youth. As a vibrant academy and performance group, FBHK has earned awards and represented Hong Kong in international competitions, offering students enriching experiences both locally and abroad.
