Name of Sponsor: Lee Hysan Foundation (“Sponsor”)

What It Offers:

This scholarship covers the full tuition fees for any ethnic minority who is either starting or already studying in full-time / part-time postgraduate degree programme in preferred key public service fields (e.g. nursing, medicine, education, STEM, healthcare, rehabilitation, social work/counselling or similar fields) in Hong Kong’s tertiary educational institutes for current and the rest of the study period. In addition, the scholar will be provided an annual living expense allowance for the current and remaining period of study.

What will the Scholarship Cover?

 Full tuition fees for the current year (Sep 2025) and the rest of the study period which will be paid directly to the university.

 Receive an annual living expense allowance for the current and remaining period of study. Fees for prior academic year(s) of the postgraduate programme are not covered.

 The tuition for the next academic year (if applicable) is contingent upon the scholarship recipient satisfactorily meeting his/her responsibilities (see below ‘What are the responsibilities of the recipient?’).

What are the Responsibilities of the Recipient?

 Submit academic grades each semester to The Zubin Foundation (TZF) no more than 1 week after its receipt by the recipient.

 Write yearly letter of what has most shaped the scholar over the past academic year, by 31 August of each academic year.

 Provide a 3-4 min graduation video to TZF about how the scholarship has helped the Student over the past year(s).

 Undertake 20 hours of Community Service with any Hong Kong NGO every year and obtain a letter from the CEO/ED/Social worker of that organisation to that effect.

 Show commitment to attend and participate in TZF’s capacity building programmes under Zubin’s Academy.

 Attend at least 2 Sponsor’s events during the course of the sponsored study period.

 Attend at least 2 mentorship sessions arranged by TZF per year

 Complete 2 well-being check-ups organised by TZF.

 Declare to work in the related fields or perform volunteer work for 2 years in Hong Kong upon graduation.

Eligibility Criteria:

 Ethnic minority male or female

 A resident of Hong Kong

 For Year 1 Applicants (starting in September 2025):

o Must have obtained a written offer for starting a full-time / part-time postgraduate degree in Hong Kong’s tertiary educational institutes in 2025

 For Applications in Year 2 or above of the programme (Starting in September 2024 or before):

o Admission letter for starting a full-time / part time postgraduate degree in Hong Kong’s tertiary educational institutes in September 2024 or before

o E-transcript of academic records for the completed year(s), applicable to applicants in year 2 or above of the programme

 The programme preference is in key public service disciplines (e.g. nursing, medicine, education, healthcare, rehabilitation, social work/counselling or similar fields)

 The applications will be evaluated based on merit and financial need

 Conversational Cantonese proficiency is required
