OVER-PRODUCTION

Over-production is one of the eight wastes commonly identified in lean manufacturing and process improvement. Over-production refers to producing too much of a product or service and / or producing it before it is needed. Examples of over-production waste could include making too many boxes for an order or taking too much product off the shelves and having to put it back later. By identifying these “wastes”, we are able to save time and fix what bugs us. Over-production waste can lead to excess inventory, unwanted price reductions, supply chain disruptions, a negative environmental impact, and a broader economic turndown. At ZQUARED, we have identified and eliminated over 50+ over-production wastes in everyday operations which not only improves our process efficiency, but reduces costs for our Brand Partners.
