WELCOME TO THE LAUDERHILL PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
T
he long-awaited cultural landmark, the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC), opened its doors on January 20, 2016,
and since then has welcomed hit shows by Boyz II Men, En Vogue, comedian Bob Saget and more, and has hosted everything from national touring companies to community events, banquets and birthday parties.
The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center accommodates events for music, theater, dance, cinema, visual arts, education, conferences, workshops and other social gatherings - aiming to achieve its ultimate mission of providing diverse, quality performing arts programming to the City of Lauderhill and its neighboring communities, serving as a hub for community involvement, engagement and artistic expression and as an influence for positive economic growth and development for its neighbors.
The Lauderhill Performing Arts Center has an 1,128-seat theater equipped with a Proscenium Stage and state of the art lighting and sound equipment. The facility also has a Multipurpose Room with stand-alone lighting and audio systems, a large Lobby available for rental events and a second floor outdoor Terrace overlooking the beautiful neighboring Central Broward Regional Park. Troupes performing at the Center will find first-class accommodations, with its Green Room, six well-equipped dressing rooms, and expansive stage wings.

he award-winning theatre company, Stage Door Theatre (formerly known as Broward Stage Door) has become the resident theatre company at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center for the 2018-2019 Season. Stage Door Theatre will bring a solid background of award-winning theatrical productions and a roster of over 30,000

patrons to the LPAC when they arrive, this September. The company was recently honored with three Carbonell Award nominations: for Sarah Gracel as “Best Actress in a Musical” and Elijah Word for “Best Supporting Actor in a Musical” - both for DREAMGIRLS. And, actress Kat Gold scored a nomination as “Best Supporting Actress in a Musical” for the company’s production of NINE.

eorges is the owner of the La Cage aux Folles nightclub, which features a drag show starring his partner and the love of his life, Albin. After twenty years of un-wedded bliss, Georges and his partner Albin face the hardest challenge of their relationship, yet: meeting their son Jean-Michel’s fiance’s parents. Albin has always raised Jean-Michel, Georges’ biological son, as his own. But, when Jean-Michel falls in love and becomes engaged to the daughter of an ultra-conservative, antigay politician, Georges feels compelled to try to present a more “traditional” family to Jean-Michel’s potential in-laws. When Albin tries and fails to take on a masculine persona in the role of Uncle Al, he gets more creative in order to find a way to be part of the “meet the parents” experience. Based on Jean Poiret’s 1973 French play of the same name, the multi-Tony award-winning LA CAGE AUX FOLLES is a musical filled with delightful spectacle and great heart!

IRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, based on the popular 1988 MGM film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, takes us to the French Riviera for high jinks and hilarity! Sophisticated, suave with a good dash of mischief, this hysterical comedy features a delightfully jazzy score by David Yazbek (THE FULL MONTY) and was nominated for a staggering eleven Tony Awards. Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their LPACFL.COM
money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother’s failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn’t big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town. Mark Rodgers, the renowned creator and host of the famously interactive, multimedia performance, is also the curator of the DaVinci Machines and Michelangelo Exhibitions from the permanent Museum of Leonardo DaVinci in Florence, Italy. est known from this past season of NBC’s hit show, “America’s Got Talent”, Preacher Lawson was a Top 5 Finalist on the show’s highestrated season to date. Preacher has been bringing his brand of goofy, highenergy comedy to the stage since he was seventeen. Preacher moved twenty times before the age of 10, spending the majority of his childhood in Memphis, TN, but considers himself a native to Orlando, Florida, as he believes it is the city where he grew most as a comedian.
Funniest Comedian in Florida and was crowned the winner of the Seattle International Comedy Competition in 2016. Preacher made his TV debut in 2017 on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly” and also appeared on Comedy Dynamic’s “Coming To The Stage.” He based in Los Angeles and currently headlines at major comedy clubs, colleges, and theaters throughout the country.
