Packet of spinach tortillas
STEPS

Kitchen scissors

Use your dinosaur-shaped tortilla to cut another set in the same way.
Use kitchen scissors to cut the spinach tortillas into the shape of the dinosaur. You’ll need a large circle for the body, two small until the cheese is melted.
Wait for the tortillas to cool slightly, then dollop sour cream to make the eyes, nose and horns.
Sprinkle some black beans and cheese between the two tortillas.
Add two black beans for the pupils, two for the mouth and three on each foot for the toes.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Make your own
GARDEN flowers
Turn a plastic milk bottle into some garden flowers that will always be in bloom.
STEPS
2-litre plastic milk bottle, washed and dried
Scissors
Wooden skewer
Liquid craft glue
Cut off the top half of the milk bottle using scissors. Then cut out eight small circles of plastic and one larger circle, which will be your petals.

Glue the big plastic circle on top of the eight petals, making sure it’s in the middle.
Spread glue on the underside edge of the bottle cap glue, then, carefully stick it in the middle of the larger plastic circle.
Wait for the glue to dry, then slide the skewer through the back of the flower, into the tiny hole you created. 1
Glue together the edges of the eight smaller plastic petals in a circular formation to create the flower. Each piece of plastic should overlap slightly. 2

Using the end of your scissors, punch a tiny hole in the middle of the big plastic circle – just big enough for the skewer to fit through snugly.
Plant your flower in the backyard, lawn or in an indoor plant pot if you don’t have a garden.

Instead of buying new gardening supplies, try making your own.
Here’s some things from your home you can upcycle to use in your garden:
BASIL
Use ice cream sticks as plant markers.
Grow seedlings in old egg cartons or takeaway coffee cups
Used paper envelopes are great for storing seeds
Punch some holes in the bottom of a plastic milk bottle and use it as a watering can
Spread old newspapers and flattened cardboard boxes over garden beds to stop weeds growing.

Make your own CAT TOYS
Keep your kitty busy by making some clever cat toys out of recycled items you’ll find around the house.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Scissors
Coloured craft paper
Glue
A cardboard shoebox
Toilet rolls
Your cat’s favourite treats
Coloured markers
PURR-FECT PUZZLE FEEDER TIP
Don’t have coloured craft paper?
Decorate some plain white paper with a 1
Cut out some coloured craft paper, then use some glue to cover the outside of the shoebox with the paper.
Place the toilet rolls upright inside the shoebox so that all the rolls fit in tightly, with no gaps. 2
Drop a few treats into the toilet rolls, then place the box on the floor – your cat will use its paws to find and grab the treats. 3

Use coloured markers to draw a cat’s face on a toilet roll.
HIDDEN TREASURE TOY
Fold in the edges of one end of the toilet roll so that the end is loosely sealed.

Fold in the two sides of the open end of the toilet roll to close the tube and form pointy ears.

Throw the treat toy in front of your cat – they’ll soon sniff out the treat and find a way to get it out.
Drop a treat or two into the open end of the toilet roll.
