Kingdom Building with Pastor Debra Jordan

With Pastor Debra Jordan as the leading lady of Zoe Ministries, the wife of Archbishop E. Bernard Jordan, the mother of five and spiritual mother of thousands, she is the prime example of a Kingdom Builder. She has built many communities from ministry to marriage to motherhood. For this Women’s Conference, she wants to empower all women to become kingdom builders in their communities, especially in ministry.

Pastor Debra entitled this year’s Women’s Conference “Kingdom Building” after asking God, in prayer, what she should name the conference. She stated He gave her two words, “Kingdom Builders.”

“‘Lord, what should I name this conference? The only two words that came forth were ‘Kingdom Builders.’ And I began to say, why kingdom builders? He said because you are not of this world.’” -Pastor Debra.

After getting this word from the Lord, Pastor Debra looked into her own life to get the fullness of kingdom builders because she felt it was a broad topic.

“I began to look at my own life first because the word of God comes to the individual that is given the work first, and then it goes outward. So Kingdom Builders to me was building prosperity. Prosperity is something that's going to last. It is something that's not going to deteriorate. We have it today, and it can be gone tomorrow. Kingdom Builders to me is building relationships. Right relationships and lasting relationships because we are not building it for ourselves, but we're building it for generations to come. Kingdom builders are legacy builders,” said Pastor Debra.

She continues to say,

“This year, I turned 59 and began to look at my life. I’m more than half a century old. What do I want my children's children to say about me? I want them to say that I built a lasting legacy. Prosperity with relationships, business, and my church. Whatever I put my hands to do, I want it to last. And the only way that I know that it's going to last is building through the Kingdom of God.”

As I was talking to Pastor Debra, she shared a powerful statement.

“A lot of times, especially we as women, we want things, but first, we have to determine how we want it. If God can't give it to me, then I don't want it. If it's not going to be built on a lasting foundation, which is the word of God, then it's going to deteriorate, it's going to fade, it's going to go away. But if we're looking to be kingdom-building, building for generation thinking futuristically, then we have to begin to build through and by the Kingdom of God.”

That statement was enlightening because we often forget our foundation, which is the word of God when we are building and creating things that we are expecting to last.

I asked Pastor Debra what is one accomplishment in her 59 years that she takes pride in building. She stated,

“Wow. Family. In the African American communities and the Brown communities, you're looking at the family deteriorating. You see individuals in a relationship today then out of that same relationship tomorrow, and there's not a sense of responsibility. Looking at my 59 years of life, I want to build something to last, and that is the family. I want to be able to give my children the same gift that my parents gave me, a father and a mother. I want to be there for my children, to be a stance and to let them know they can have it all and they don't have to take any shortcuts. You can have it all, but the only way you're going to have it all is through the word of God. Your relationship with God is very important to me. So, I instilled in my children, when they were young teenagers, even as adults and my grandchildren, that everything must start with God and end with God.”

Another kingdom Pastor Debra has built was Zoe Ministries alongside her husband Archbishop E. Bernard Jordan. When asked what has it been like building this kingdom for 38 years with her husband, she shared,

“Wow. You know that's a mouthful. I could write a book. I can say it was a lot of hard work and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. But, the thing that kept us going was the word of God. God said for us to build a legacy through the prophetic. There were many times when we wanted to give up, many times we wanted to throw in the towel, but we knew it wasn't about us. It was about the word of God. The purpose, the destiny, and what God has destined for the Jordan household to do and to fulfill. Early in ministry and in the 80s, you didn't hear talk about prophets early in ministry. You didn't hear about prophetic dance or the prophetic song of the Lord. I'm not saying it wasn't there, but it wasn't highlighted. I can look back and thank God that we were such a yes to the word of the Lord.”

Pastor Debra Jordan exudes strength, honor, and loyalty to the word of God. She has empowered and impacted the lives of many people. As the kingdom builder that she is, she shares a prophetic word as we approach the end of the year and the beginning of 2020.

“I just hear God saying for His people to begin to get ready. And how they are going to get ready? It is putting on the whole armor of God. They will begin to rise up in new strength. They're not to look at their past, but they are to look to the future. The future is far greater than their past and what they're going through.

I hear the word of the Lord saying it's time for His people to begin to raise up holy hands unto the Lord. And as they begin to raise up holy hands unto the Lord, God is getting ready to fill their hands with possibility.

I hear God saying for them to get ready. What people had to deal with for 2018-2019 and even 2017, they will not deal with it in the coming year. 2020 is going to be a year of new discoveries because God is getting ready to rise up. God is going to open up the eyes of His people, and they're going to see clearer than they have ever seen before because God is getting ready to fill them with new strength. He's getting ready to bring about new possibilities in their lives. He's going to raise them up so that they can begin to see beyond sight. And, they're not going to see with their natural sight, they're going to begin to see with the eyes of their God. They are getting ready to rise up and that which was impossible, I hear God say He's getting ready to make it possible for them.

I hear God saying for them not to quit because weeping may endure for the night, but the joy of the Lord does come in the morning.

I also hear God saying, after you have done all you know to do, you're going to stand because you're going to have to step into a season and a day called victory said the Lord. Get ready because God is getting ready to bring new ideas to the minds and the hearts of His people. Get ready because God is going to bring witty inventions and witty ideas to them. Ideas and inventions that the earth has not seen or heard, but it's going to show up in 2020 because I'm giving my people again sight beyond sight.

Get ready and get set because 2020 is going to be a year of the goal. Get ready, said the Lord. God has already enabled them, and He's planting them on a sure foundation, and they're not going to have to worry. They're not going to have to walk indecisively, but they are going to be in the know because the possibility of God is going to rest upon them because He's anointing them and baptizing them.

This year, 2020, it's going to be a year of good and plenty, for God's people. Stay connected and keep His word in your mouth, and you are going to prosper. The Holy Ghost is going to cause you to prosper and come into new realms of possibility, and that is the word of the Lord.”
