A Journey Into the Dark (IV)

i cry a lot in the wintertime

maybe because it's so dark

or because it's cold

or because it's hard to be sad when it's beautifully warm out

so all the pent up sadness from summer comes rushing out

ready to bring me down into the cold

like an avalanche.

sometimes i wake up with glitter under my eyes

and i wonder how my face can look so dead

underneath it all.
