Dit is hét stadsdeel van toeristen, grote winkelketens en vele historische bezienswaardigheden. In de kleine steegjes in de binnenstad vind je nog lokale winkeltjes en gezellige pleintjes.

Caves > Do you dare go underground? Not afraid of the dark?

Go explore the caves below the St. Pietersberg hill. No light, no sound, no smell, no radiation, no pollution, no mobile phone signal, no sense of time‌ Through a labyrinth that once comprised more than 20,000 corridors, a professional guide takes you underground. The man-made galleries once measured 230 km in total and m ­ easure around 80 km today.

Highlights of the tour are among others the enormous dome and the remains of the 18th century shelter. Also you will find National Storage Facility no. 9 here, better known as the 'vault'. From 1942 to 1945, this space provided protection for a large part of the Dutch national treasures, for instance the Night Watch.
