GÈR BOOSTEN DRAWING BOOK tekeningen, ontstaan tussen 2013 en 2015

In zijn originele versie bundelde de kunstenaar de door hem geselecteerde lompenpapieren. Aan elkaar genaaid tot een boek, bracht dit hem, in die verschijningsvorm als object, reeds in euforie met betrekking tot het tekenen zelf. De oppervlaktestructuur van het papier deed zich ervaren als de huid van de wanden in de mergelgrotten, die Gèr Boosten reeds eerder onder handen had, waar de afgifte van houtskool en tekenstiften stevig tegengewerkt werd door de ruwe en rulle ondergrond.

Het originele tekenboek van Gèr Boosten bevindt zich in de Fondation ­Custodia, Collectie Frits Lugt, Parijs.

schonk Magda de Bontridder een reeks werken van haar man, Gilbert de Bontridder, aan het Bonnefantenmuseum. Deze tentoon­stelling geeft een beknopt overzicht van schilderijen, installaties, collages, grafiek en geïllustreerde dichtbundels van de ­kunstenaar. Tevens wordt er een selectie werken van de winnaars van de Gilbert de Bontridder prijs getoond waarin alle media en technieken zijn vertegenwoordigd. // Exhibition > 0Recently Magda de Bontridder donated a series of works by her husband, Gilbert de ­Bontridder, to the Bonnefantenmuseum. This exhibition gives a brief overview of paintings, installations, collages, graphic art and illustrated books of poetry of the artist. There is also a selection of works by the winners of the Gilbert de Bontridder price shown in which all media and techniques are represented.

Nieuw WOII museum met 142 levensechte poppen in 13 diorama’s. Aan de hand van de Duitse parachutist August wordt u meegenomen langs de belangrijkste fronten in Europa. Rembrandts ‘Nachtwacht’).

Caves > Do you dare go underground? Not afraid of the dark?

Go explore the caves below the St. Pietersberg hill. No light, no sound, no smell, no radiation, no pollution, no mobile phone signal, no sense of time…

Through a labyrinth that once comprised more than 20,000 corridors, a professional guide takes you underground. The man-made galleries once measured 230 km in total and ­measure around 80 km today. Highlights of the tour are among others the enormous dome and the remains of the 18th century shelter. Also you will find National Storage Facility no. 9 here, better known as the 'vault'. From 1942 to 1945, this space provided protection for a large part of the Dutch national treasures, for instance the Night Watch.
