Referendum dollars significantly impact overall school operations

In 2019, the community showed overwhelming support for the school district by passing a twoquestion referendum with one of the highest margins ever in the state of Indiana.

Because of community support of the capital referendum, Trailside Elementary School was built (and opened in August 2022). A high school addition was completed, and district leaders targeted much-needed building renovations as identified through a comprehensive facilities study.

In addition to the capital referendum, the operating referendum was renewed and pays for teachers, counselors and other school district professionals.

As a direct result of these successful ballot questions, ZCS leaders have been able to adequately staff so that class sizes can remain small and top-notch school programming can be implemented.
