Pleasant Ridge Reserve is made from the milk of a single herd of cows that graze on the rolling Wisconsin hillsides. Tuna is one of the most popular foods we sell. It may seem surprising because here in the U.S., tinned tuna is a low-end commod ity usually sold in supermarkets. In Spain it’s at the complete opposite of the culinary spectrum. Tuna in tins, especially these from the fourth-generation family firm Ortiz, is one of the jewels in Spain's culinary crown. Ortiz's fish are all line caught—not netted—hand filleted at sea and quickly tinned by hand in good olive oil. The olive oil is key. We’ve been hand slicing the ruby red sides at our Deli for decades, but finding a packaged salmon we could ship turned out to be tricky. American Spoon Red Haven Peach Preserves
The jam maestros at American Spoon get their peaches from Joe Daly and his orchards along Lake Michigan. They hand-peel and destone every supple peach before cooking the fruit with cane sugar in copper kettles at their jam workshop in Petoskey. The preserve is thick and chunky with pieces of peach. It tastes like summer sunshine. Not too sweet, its texture is the best I’ve ever tasted in a peach preserve.

Ferry Farms Bacon
Ferry Farms is a fourth generation farm in Litchfield, Michigan. The Ferry family sources their heritage breed pigs from a handful of neighbors’ farms, where they’re raised without any hormones or antibiotics. To make the bacon, after a wet cure in a mix of salt and spices, the pork bellies are smoked over hickory wood. The result is a little sweet and a little smoky, but not too much of either.

Pastor Simmer Sauce
Mexican street food is one of my favorite cuisines—tacos especially. My favorite is pastor—a slightly spicy, fruity, sweet sauce served with sliced pork. The flavors are deep, complex, bright, savory, sweet and a few things in between. I can’t create those flavors on my own, so this sauce is a savior. First you cook vegetables or proteins till they’re about done, and then you add the jar of sauce to the pan and let it simmer for ten minutes or longer. Served over a bed of rice or corn tortillas, it’s a homerun and—most importantly—it was fast and easy to make.
