Despre festival

Între 10 - 14 mai, 2017 se va desfăşura pentru a 9-a oară Festivalul-Concurs International Youth Jazz Competition and Festival în Jazz&Blues Club din Tîrgu-Mureş. Evenimentul este organizat de către Asociația Culturală Partitura, Casa de Cultură a Studenților și Jazz&Blues Club din Târgu-Mureș.

Scopul festivalului-concurs este de a îmbunătăţi relaţiile studenţilor şi profesorilor din diverse academii de muzică din țară și din străinătate, de a oferi studenţilor-muzicieni şansa de afirmare și de a diversifica agenda culturală a studenţilor şi iubitorilor de jazz din Tîrgu-Mureş.

Programul festivalului se compune din două părți: programul-concurs al studenţilor-muzicieni şi concerte susţinute de trupe de jazz profesionişti.

Succesul festivalului din anii anteriori s-a datorat în primul rând studenţilor talentați care au participat la concurs din: România, Republica Moldova, Ungaria, Austria, Polonia, Slovacia și Lituania.

Nivelul artistic al festivalului s-a datorat şi muzicienilor de jazz consacrați: Chris Dahlgren, Luiza Zan, Alex Man, Mircea Tiberian, Storyville, Váczi Eszter, Snaco Dixi Band, Bourbon Jazz Unit, Murányi Joe, Sárik Péter, Fábián Juli, Dj Zoohacker, Szőke Nikoletta Quartett, Jazz Challenge, Tonight Jazz Ensemble, Tasi Nóra & The Guys, Tess & The Vagabonds, Myrtill & The Swinguistique, Mario & The Teachers, Bega Blues Band, Tóth Lajos Trio, Alex Man & Gabriela Costa, Sebastian Spanache Trio, Harry Tavitian & Cserey Csaba, Tom White & His Friends, Mike Parker’s Trio Theory, Elsa Valle Y Sus Hermanos, Irina Sârbu Band, sau Ripoff Raskolnikov Band și alții..

Performanţa soliştilor studenţi a fost evaluată, de fiecare dată, de un juriu format din profesionişti, din care au făcut parte: Mircea Tiberian, Sebastian Gheorghiu, Luiza Zan, Bibó Lajos, Dr. Makkai Gyöngyvér, Sárik Péter, Virgil Mihaiu, Florian Lungu, Bágyi Balázs, Dr. Romeo Cozma şi Boros Zoltán, Ion Baciu, Gyárfás István, Ila Gábor şi Johnny Bota.

Pe lângă participanți și juriu o contribuție deosebită în vederea obținerii succesului din anii precedenți a avut-o și publicul numeros.

About the festival

2017. május 10-14. között a marosvásárhelyi Egyetemista Kultúrház, a Jazz&Blues Club és a Partitúra Kulturális Egyesület 9. -szer is megszervezik a Nemzetközi Ifjúsági Dzsesszversenyt és -fesztivált a Jazz&Blues klub helyiségében.

We would like to present the 9th Edition of The International Youth Jazz Competition and Festival, 10 – 14 May, 2017. The event is organized by the Cultural House of Students in Targu-Mures, Partitura Cultural Association and the Jazz&Blues Club.

A rendezvény célja, hogy közelebb hozza egymáshoz a romániai és külföldi zeneművészeti akadémiák hallgatóit és pedagógusait; hogy megmérettetés elé állítsa a versenyezni vágyó művész-hallgatókat; továbbá, hogy színesebbé tegye a marosvásárhelyi egyetemisták és a dzsesszzene rajongóinak életét.

Az esemény programja két nagy tömbből áll: a benevezett zenész-hallgatók versenyprogramjából, valamint neves dzsesszzenekarok koncertjeiből.

Az eddigi fesztiválok sikerét elsősorban a több országból jelentkező, tehetséges egyetemista előadók jelentették, akik az elmúlt években Romániából, a Moldvai Köztársaságból, Magyarországról, Ausztriából, Franaciaországról, Lengyelországból , Szlovákiából vagy Litvániaból jelentkeztek.

The aim of this festival is to improve the relations between students and professors from different music academies, to offer students the chance of affirmation and to broaden the cultural activities of Jazz lovers in Targu-Mures.

The festival consists of two parts: the students’ competition and the concerts by professional jazz bands.

The success of the festival from previous years was due, primarily, to the talented competitors from different countries: Austria, The Republic of Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Lithuania.

The performance of the contestants was evaluated every time by a jury formed by knowledgeable members: Mircea Tiberian, Sebastian Gheorghiu, Luiza Zan, Bibó Lajos, Makkai Gyöngyvér, Sárik Péter, Virgil Mihaiu, Florian Lungu, Bágyi Balázs, Dr. Romeo Cozma, Boros Zoltán, Ion Baciu, Johnny Bota or Gyárfás István.

Apart from the participants and the jury, another important contributor to the success of the festival was the public, who was present every time in a large number, thus reaching the main goal of this event, which was to broaden the cultural offer in our town.

Alex Man

RO - Alexandru Man, născut la 23 august 1969, a crescut în orașul Târgu-Mureș. A început studiul chitarei în 1983. În anii ‘80 a cântat muzică rock fiind membru fondator al trupei Polifon din Târgu Mureș. În 2010 a absolvit Facultatea de jazz Richard Oschanitzky din cadrul Universității Tibiscus Timișoara, iar în perioada de studii a avut ocazia de a colabora cu muzicieni americani, precum Eldad Tarmu, Henry Franklin și a fost cooptat în noi proiecte cum ar fi noua formulă Bega Blues Band, alături de care activează și în prezent. De asemenea, recent a luat parte la un proiect internațional cu muzicieni din patru țări: Cehia, Polonia, Ungaria, România.

Florian Lungu

HU - Alexandru Man 1969 augusztus 23-án született Marosvásárhelyen. 1983-ban kezdett el gitárt tanulni. A marosvásárhelyi Polifon együttes egyik alapítótagja, ott rockgitáron játszott. 2010-ben a Richard Oschanitzky jazz egyetemen szerzett diplomát, a Tibiscus temesvári egyetem keretén belül, és a tanulmányai során lehetősége volt együttműködni olyan amerikai zenészekkel, mint Eldad Tarmu vagy Henry Franklin és csatlakozott új projektekhez is, mint például a Bega Blues Band zenekar, akikkel azóta is közreműködik. A közelmúltban részt vett egy nemzetközi projektben, négy országból való zenészekkel: Csehország, Lengyelország, Magyarország, Románia.

RO: Născut la Bucureşti, în 5 ianuarie 1943, Florian Lungu este muzicolog, realizator şi prezentator de emisiuni de jazz, la radio şi televiziune, pianist, aranjor şi compozitor. Florian Lungu , absolvent al Conservatorului „Ciprian Porumbescu“ (1966), Secţia Compoziţie, redactor şi apoi realizator de emisiuni la Societatea Română de Radiodifuziune (din 1967), jurnalist, colaborator al Televiziunii Române începând din anii ’70, prezentator a numeroase concerte şi festivaluri din Capitală şi din ţară, organizator al ciclurilor de concerte „Perpetuum Jazz“, „Estival Jazz“, autor al câtorva creaţii proprii de jazz. În ultimii ani i s-a atribuit titlul „profesionist de excepţie” ca realizator de emisiuni la Societatea Română de Radiodifuziune.

EN - Alexandru Man was born on August 23, 1969 and raised in Târgu-Mureș. He started playing guitar in 1983. In the 80s, he played rock music as a founding member of the Polifon band in Târgu-Mureș. In 2010, he graduated from Richard Oschanitzky University, jazz department, within Tibiscus University Timisoara, and during his studies, he had the opportunity to collaborate with American musicians such as Eldad Tarmu, Henry Franklin and joined new projects such as the Bega Blues Band, with which he is operating today. He recently took part in an international project with musicians from four countries: Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Romania.

HU: Florian Lungu 1943. január 3-án született Bukarestben. Zenész, producer és különböző jazz-adások tévés és rádiós műsorvezetője.

Zongoraművész, hangszerelő és zeneszerző. A Ciprian Porumbescu Konzervatórium Zeneszerző tagozatán végzett 1966-ban. 1967-től a Román Rádió Egyesületnél szerkesztő. A 70-es évektől kezdve a Román Televízió munkatársa illtetve számos koncert és fesztivál műsorvezetője a fővárosban és az országban. A Perpetuum Jazz, az Estival Jazz koncertsorozatok szervezője. Az elmúlt években kiemelkedő szakmai díjat kapott műsorvezetőként a Román Rádió Egyesülettől.

EN: Florian Lungu was born in Bucharest, on January 3, 1943. He is a musician, producer and anchorman of jazz shows on radio and television, a pianist, arranger and composer. He graduated the Composition Department of „Ciprian Porumbescu” Conservatory in 1966. Editor and then producer at the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company, a journalist, collaborator of the Romanian Television since the 70s. Also the commentator of numerous concerts and festivals in the capital and the country, organizer of the „Perpetuum Jazz”, „Estival Jazz” concert cycles, and composer of several jazz creations. In the past years he was awarded the title of „outstanding professional” as a broadcaster at the Romanian Radio Company.

Juriu / Zsüri / Jury Gyárfás István

RO: Gyárfás István, chitarist de jazz, s-a născut în 1962 la Budapesta. În 1987 a terminat la Departamentul de Jazz a Liceului de Muzică Bartok Béla. S-a lansat alături de Regős István, Nesztor Iván și Kovács Gyula. În prezent pe lânga propria sa trupă, îl putem auzi in Budapest Jazz Orchestra și Deseő Csaba Band. Alături de concertele unde îl putem asculta, iși indeplineste cu onoare și rolul de profesor de muzică. În ultimii ani a lansat mai multe discuri de succes și a concertat in turneele organizate din Kenya și Indonezia. A concertat alături de Herbie Mann, pianistul Benny Green, basistul Jimmy Woode, Ed Thigpen și Scott Hamilton.

HU: Gyárfás István, jazzgitáros, előadóművész, 1962-ben született Budapesten. 1987-ben végezte el a Bartók Béla Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskola Jazz Tanszakát.

Pályafutását Nesztor Iván, Regos István és Kovács Gyula együtteseiben kezdte. Jelenleg saját zenekara mellett hallhatjuk zenélni a Budapest Jazz Orchestránál és Deseő Csaba Band-el. Koncertjei mellett becsületre méltóan tölti be zenetanári szerepét is. Az elmúlt években több sikeres lemezt adott ki, koncertezett Kenyában és Indonéziában rendezett turnékon. Zenélt Herbie Mann, Benny Green (zongorista), Jimmy Wood (basszusgitáros), Ed Thigpen és Scott Hamilton mellett.

EN: Gyárfás István was born in 1962 in Budapest. He graduated from the Jazz Department of the Bartók Béla Music High School in 1987. His career started alongside Nestor Ivan’s, Gyula Kovács and István Regős’s bands.

Currently his music can be heard at the Budapest Jazz Orchestra with his own band and next to Deseő Csaba Band . Besides the concerts, he fulfills his role with honor as a music teacher. In recent years he has launched a great number a successful discs and had tours organised in Kenya and Indonesia. He has played with Herbie Mann, Benny Green (piano), Jimmy Wood (bass), Ed Thigpen and Scott Hamilton.

Romeo Cozma

RO: Născut la data de 13 noiembrie 1955 în București, Romeo Cozma a făcut primii săi pași spre o carieră în muzică studiind pianul la Liceul de Artă „Octav Băncilă” din Iași. Urmează apoi cursurile Facultății de Compoziție, Muzicologie, Dirijat și Pedagogie din cadrul Universității de Arte „George Enescu”, Iași, specializându-se în pedagogie muzicală și compoziție. Acolo are ca profesori renumiți maeștri ai muzicii românești, precum Vasile Spătărelu, Anton Zeman, Sabin Păutza, care au avut o importantă influență asupra carierei sale de compozitor. Iubirea sa pentru muzica de jazz datează încă din timpul anilor de liceu, când a început să dezvolte o deosebită admirație pentru Chick Corea și Herbie Hancock. El continuă apoi să se dedice jazz-ului, deși compozițiile sale incorporează diferite genuri și stiluri.

HU: Romeo Cozma 1955 november 13-ikán született Bukarestben. Zenei karrierjét az Octav Băncilă Művészeti Líceumban kezdte, zongora szakon. A zenetudományi tanulmányait a George Enescu Művészeti Egyetemen végezte. Tanárai között volt Vasile Spătărelu, Anton Zeman, Sabin Păutza akik nagyon sokat hatottak rá. A zeneszeretete még a líceumi években kezdődött - ekkor Chick Corea és Herbie Hancock iránt kezdett nőni a figyelme.

A jazz műfajban alkot és játszik, bár szerzeményei különböző stílusokat és műfajokat foglalnak magukba.

EN: Born onNovember 13, 1955,in Bucharest, Romeo Cozma made his first steps towards a career in music studying the piano at the „Octav Băncilă” School of Arts. He finished his studies at the University of Arts „George Enescu”, Iaşi, specializing in music education and composition with teachers like Vasile Spătărelu, Anton Zeman, Sabin Păutza (who are wellknown masters of Romanian music) who played a big influence on Cozma’s career. His love for jazz music goes back to his high school years when he started to develop an admiration towards Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. Although he dedicates himself to jazz, his compositions incorporate different genres and styles.

Sárik Péter

RO: Sárik Péter s-a născut în 1972 la Cegléd. În 1997 a absolvit Universitatea de Muzică Liszt Ferenc din Budapesta. Mai târziu a studiat muzica clasică sub indrumarea lui Prunyi Ilona. De-alungul anilor, în afară de jazz el a încercat aproape toate curentele muzicii: a jucat muzică clasică, ușoară, pop, latino și muzică etnică. În prezent, conduce propriul său trio, iar pe lângă aceasta lucrează cu multe alte trupe și artiști. În 2007 și-a format propria trupă numită Sárik Péter Trió. Echipa s-a reformat în 2012 cu alăturarea lui Fonay Tibor și Gálfi Attila. “Sárik Péter Trió” a devenit rapid una dintre cele mai importante trupe de jazz din țară. În 2015 Sárik a primit din nou premiul Fonogram ca „cel mai bun album de jazz din Ungaria al anului”, împreună cu Tamás Berki.

HU: Sárik Péter 1972-ben született Cegléden. A budapesti Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetemen diplomázott 1997-ben. Később klasszikus zenei tanulmányokat folytatott Prunyi Ilona irányításával.

Az évek során a jazz mellett szinte minden zenei irányzatban kipróbálta magát: játszott, klasszikus, könnyű, pop, latin és világzenét. 2007-ben alapította meg saját zenekarát, a Sárik Péter Triót. A csapat 2012-ben, Fonay Tibor és Gálfi Attila csatlakozásával újáalakult. A Sárik Péter Trió rövid időn belül az ország vezető jazz-zenekarai közé került. 2015-ben Berki Tamással közös lemeze, a Minden délibáb is Fonogramdíjas lett, szintén, mint az “Év hazai jazz-albuma”.

EN: Sárik Péter was born in 1972 in Cegléd, Hungary.

He studied at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, where he earned a degree in 1997. Later, he studied classical music under the tutelage of Ilona Prunyi. Throughout the years, he has proven himself in practically all genres, in addition to jazz – he has played classical, pop, Latin and world music. He founded his own band in 2007, called “Peter Sarik Trio”. The team reformed in 2012, with the joining of Tibor Fonay and Attila Gálfi. The Sárik Péter Trio swiftly became one of the leading jazz bands of the country. In 2015 Sárik received again the Fonogram Award as the “Best Hungarian Jazz Album of the Year”, with Tamas Berki, for our live concert CD.

Prezentator festival Mike Godoroja

RO: Mike Godoroja este producător muzical a numeroase proiecte şi evenimente media, cunoscut realizator de emisiuni radio şi televiziune de profil blues, jazz şi rock, fondatorul Mike Godoroja&Blue Spirit. După spusele lui Godoroja prima formaţie din liceu, Phoebus, i-a indus în tot organismul lui “virusul” spectacolului şi de atunci priveste lumea artei numai din prisma relaţiei directe cu publicul, fie în concerte, la radio sau la emisiunile de TV. Se ocupă cu management cultural de mai bine de 25 de ani. Are o experiență vastă ca producător artistic de spectacole.

HU: Mike Godoroja számos médiaprojekt és esemény szervezője, jól ismert blues, rock és jazz rádiós, televíziós műsorok vezetője és a Mike Godoroja&Blue Spirit nevű együttes alapítója. A líceumi együttesük megalapítása óta benne van műsorvezetés “vírusa” és azóta a művészi világot a közönséggel felvett direkt kapcsolaton keresztül nézi. Lehet az koncerten, rádióban vagy akár televíziós adásban. Több mint 25 éve kulturális menedzsmenttel is foglalkozik. Mérhetetlenül gazdag tapasztalattal rendelkezik műsorvezetőként.

EN: Mike Godoroja is the musical producer of a number of projects, media events, known as a jazz, blues and rock radio and television broadcaster and the founder of Mike Godoroja & Blue Spirit band.

Since his high school band, Phoebus, the “virus” of performance infested him. Since then he looks at the world of art only in direct relationship with the public, regardless of the medium: concerts, radio, or TV shows. He has been in the cultural management industry for over 25 years and has vast experience as a producer of artistic performances.

AlexMan&Gyárfás István Guitar Duo RO - PPreluând stilul lui Wes Montgomery, dar și al altor

nume sacre, Gyárfás István face parte din tânara generație de jazz. Concertele cu propria trupă i-au adus nenumărate succese în Austria, Danemarca, Germania și România.

Deși a participat frecvent la proiecte internționale, iar de-a lungul timpului a lucrat cu Béla Kamocsa, Johnny Bota sau Teodora Enache, de această data îl va avea ca și coleg de scenă pe Alex Man. Acesta din urmă a câștigat de curând premiul „Revelația anului”, acordat de Fundația Muzza. Este absolvent al Universității „Tibiscus” din Timișoara, unde a studiat chitara jazz, iar în prezent numele său este asociat cu Departamentul de Jazz al Universității de Muzică din București.

Alex nemrég nyerte meg a Muzza Alapítvány által átadott Az év meglepetése díjat. A temesvári “Tibiscus” Egyetemen végzett ahol jazzgitárt tanult, jelenleg a neve a Bukaresti Zeneakadémia jazztagozatával működik együtt.

is part of the young generation of jazz players. His concerts with his own band brought him lots of success in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Romania.

Although he frequently participated in international projects and throughout the years, he worked with Béla Kamocsa, Johhny Bota or Teodora Enache, this time his colleague will be Alex Man. Alex has recently won the “Revelation of the year” title given by the Muzza Foundation. He graduated from “Tibiscus” University in Timisoara where he studied jazz guitar and presently his name is associated with the Jazz Department of the University of Music in Bucharest.

UNAGE Big Band RO - UNAGE Bigband este o orchestră a Univesității de Arte

„George Enescu” din Iași, inființată în toamna anului 2015. Nucleul său e format din studenți ai specializării Compoziție Jazz și muzică ușoară, care formează secția ritmică și asigură soliștii vocali. Lor li se adaugă studenți de la catedrele de trompetă, trombon, saxofon și percuție care au optat pentru orele de Ansamblu jazz. Orchestra are o serie de colaboratori precum reputatul trombonist de jazz Liviu Mărculescu, saxofonistul Nicu Luceanu - absolvent al clasei de saxofon din cadrul UNAGE, asistent univ. dr. Eduard Mihailă la trompetă, care funcționează ca șefi de partide. UNAGE Bigband este dirijată de Dan Spînu, lector univ. dr. la Universitatea ieșeană de arte, repertoriul fiind format deopotrivă din standarde de jazz cît și din lucrări de jazz modern și latino-american.

Egyetem együttese, a formáció 2015 őszén alakult. Középpontja a könnyűzene és a jazz-tagozat diákjaiból áll, ők alkotják a ritmika részét és biztosítanak szólistákat is. Hozzájuk csatlakoznak még a trombita-, harsona-, szaxofon- és ütőhangszeres szakokon tanuló hallgatók is. A zenekarnak sok tanárral játszik együtt: fellép velük Liviu Mărculescu (jazz harsona), Nicu Luceanu (szakszofon), dr.

Eduard Mihailă (trombita). Dan Spînu vezetésével az UNAGE Bigband repertoárja jazz szabványokból, valamint a modern és a latin-amerikai jazzből áll.

EN- UNAGE Bigband is an orchestra from George Enescu

University of Art in Iasi, founded in the autumn of 2015. Its core consists of students of Jazz Composition and Light Music, which form the rhythmic section and provide vocal soloists. Students from the trumpet, trombone, saxophone, and percussion departments who have opted for jazz ensemble classes are also members. The Orchestra has a number of collaborators such as the famous jazz trombonist Liviu Marculescu, the saxophonist Nicu Luceanu - graduate of the sage class of UNAGE, assistant professor Dr. Eduard Mihailă, at the trumpet. DAS Trio

RO - Totul a început cu colaborarea dintre Nagy Ábel Márton şi Kéri Sámuel. Ambii provin din familii de muzicieni şi s-au cunoscut ca urmare a prieteniei părinţilor. Formatul final al formaţiei s-a conturat cu ocazia pregătirii pentru festivalul Alba Regia Jazz, când celor doi li s-a alăturat Fábry Adonisz, cel care cânta la tobe în formaţia punk al lui Ábel.

Tot cu această ocazie au ales şi numele formaţiei şi au început să lucreze la creaţii propii Cei trei sunt sunt studenţii Şcolii de Artă Muzicală ETUD. Despre noi: Ne place să cântăm.

Ne place jazzul! Sunt lucruri în viaţă ce se pot exprima cu greu şi prin intermediul versurilor muzicale iar pentru acest lucru este perfect jazzul. Nu cântăm jazz tradiţional, ne place curentul modern, ne plac timbrele muzicale îndrăznețe.

Repertuarul nostru este alcătuit atât din jazz standard cât şi din creaţii propii. Inspiraţia cântecelor noastre este dragostea, experienţe comune, sau pur şi simplu un răsărit de soare, adică totul are povestea sa Încercăm prin cunoştinţele noastre să redăm aceste lucruri.

A végleges formáció akkor alakult ki mikor az Alba Regia Jazzfesztiválra való készüléshez korukbeli dobost kerestek, így jött a képbe Fábry Adonisz, aki már egy ideje Ábel punk-zenekarának dobosa volt. Ekkor választották a D.A.S. Trio nevet és kezdtek közös saját dalokon dolgozni. Az ETÜD Zeneművészeti Szakközépiskola hallgatói. Szeretünk zenélni. Szeretjük a jazzt! Vannak dolgok az ember életében, amiket nehéz szavakba önteni, még dalszöveg formájaban is, ezeket az érzéseket sokkal könnyebb ilyen zenével kifejezni.

Nem éppen tradicionális jazz-t játszunk, szeretjük a modern irányzatokat és az idióta hangszíneket, azt mondják, a fiatalos hév az átjon. Repertoárunk nem csak jazz standard-ekből áll, a műsor nagy részét saját számok adják. A dalaink Ielkületét leginkább nyári szerelem, élmény, vagy csupán egy közös napfelkelte ihlette, vagyis mindnek megvan a maga története. lgyekszünk az eddigi tudásunkkal mindent átadni, amit csak Iehet és bővíteni a szókincsünket, hogy többet tudjunk mondani. Magyarul gyakorlunk sokat.

The final compound of the band took shape when preparing for Alba Regia Jazz Festival, when Fábry Adonisz joined the team, who played the drums in Ábel’s punk band. On this occasion they’ve chosen the name of the band and started working at their own compositions. The three are students at ETUD Music School. About Us: We love to sing. We love jazz! There are things in life that can hardly be expressed even through music lyrics and for this is perfect the jazz. We don’t play traditional jazz. we love the modern trends, we love crazy music stamps. Our repetoire consists of both standard jazz and from our own pieces . Our inspirations are summer love, shared experiences, or simply a beautiful sunrise, in short everything has its story. We try to give back these things through our best knowledge.

RO - Trio-ul olandez On Impulse a fost fondat în urmă cu

cinci ani și oferă un amestec unic de jazz, funk și blues. Cei trei muzicieni pot privi înapoi la aparițiile comune alături de muzicieni internaționali și au fost sub mâna lui Randy Brecker în turneuri. Deborah J. Carter a crescut în Hawaii și Japonia, a trăit temporar în Spania și își trăiește viața acum în Amsterdam.

Demnă de remarcat este lista orchestrelor cu care ea a lucrat la Berlin: Jazz Orchestra, Radio Croat & Orchestra TV, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, Olanda Big Band, HR Big Band, inclusiv orchestra Metropole. unique jazz, funk and blues ensemble. The three musicians have lots of concerts behind them with international musicians and on the tour they were under the hands of Randy Becker. Deborah J. Carter grew up in Hawaii and Japan, lived temporarily in Spain, and now the center of her life is Amsterdam. She has worked with many famous orchestras in Berlin such as Jazz Orchestra, Radio Croat & Orchestra TV, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, Holland Big Band, HR Big Band including the Metropole Orchestra. RO -“Say What!” Trio este o trupă de jazz din Cluj-

Napoca care interpretează jazz cu influențe de funk/ soul/hiphop. Au avut multe ocazii de a cânta împreună la diferite proiecte de exemplu festivaluri de jazz, jam session-uri, gig-uri underground și au decis să înființeze acest trio pentru a împărtăși experiențele, sentimentele sau dispoziția lor prin sunetul muzicii și mai ales pentru a crea o atmosferă plină de vibrații pozitive și muzică bună.

HU - A “Say What!” trió egy kolozsvári funk/

soul/hiphop ihlette jazz együttes. Sok alkalmuk volt különböző projektek keretében játszani, például jazz fesztiválokon, jam-sessionökön, underground gig-eken, így hozták létre ezt a triót. A lényege a közös tapasztalatok, érzelmek illetve jókedv megosztása zenén keresztül és főleg egy pozitív vibrációkkal teli hangulat megteremtése, illetve jó számok létrehozása.

influenced jazz trio from Cluj-Napoca. There were many occasions to play after they met, in different projects like jazz festivals, jam sessions, recordings, underground gigs, therefore they decided to create this trio for sharing their experiences, moods or feelings through the sounds of music, and of course, to make a cozy atmosphere fulfilled with good vibes and awesome tunes.

RO - Sorin Zlat Trio a luat ființă în toamna anului 2008,

avându-i în componență pe Sorin Zlat (pian), Răzvan Cojanu (contrabas), Claudiu Purcarin (tobe). Repertoriul trupei include standarde de jazz, dar și compoziții proprii, stilurile abordate de Sorin Zlat Trio fiind cool jazz, latin, post-bop și clasic jazz.

Prin această fuziune de stiluri, grupul a câștigat recunoșterea publicului de jazz din România și din străinătate, bucurânduse de numeroase concerte pe scenele unor cluburi celebre, precum: Vortex, Pizza Express, Ronnie’s Scott din Londra, dar și la festivaluri dintre care amintim: Montreux Jazz Festival, Pera Fest (Turcia), Getxo Jazz Festival (Spania), Jacksonville Jazz Festival (S.U.A), Monaco Jazz Festival, etc. De-a lungul timpului, Sorin Zlat Trio a cântat pe aceeași scenă alături de nume mari ale jazzului: Lee Ritenour, Ravi Coltrane, Brandford Marsallis, Joey Calderazzo, Tito Puente și Jeff Ballard.

Enache este o cântăreață româncă de jazz stabilită în Germania.

După terminarea Universității “Alexandru Ioan Cuza’’ din Iași, Teodora Enache a urmat cursurile de canto de la ,,Academia de Muzică” din Iași, a studiat canto, improvizație și armonie cu Johnny Răducanu și Edmond Deda și de asemenea a urmat cursurile, Rhythm And Bongos” cu Maurice de Martin. În 1995 cânta la Constanța cu pianistul american de origine română Iancsy Korossy. În 2002 îi apar albumele ,,On The Sunny Side Of The Street’’, ,,Jazz Made in Romania - Live in San Francisco’’ și ,,Rădăcini’’. La International Youth Jazz Competition and Festival Teodora va fi însoțită de doi muzicieni din Germania: pianistul de origine ucraineană Yuriy Sych și saxofonistul Peter Klohmann.

Váczi Eszter Quartet

RO: Încapând cu 1997, Eszter a cântat în formația de acid

jazz „Szörp“ cunoscută pentru reușitele show-uri live. După absolvirea Academiei de Muzică Liszt Ferenc și-a format propria trupa de jazz acustic: Váczi Eszter Quartet, în 2002.

După o așteptare de șapte ani pentru apariția primului lor abum, Eszter și-a dat seama că piesele originale cu cuvinte maghiare sunt cel mai bun mod de a se exprima ca artist.

Prima lansare în 2009 „Vissza hozzád“, a fost un succes imens, vânzările ajungând la o certificare Platinium. În 2010, albumul de debut a fost nominalizat pentru premiul “Fonogram” în categoria Cel mai bun album de jazz.

HU :1997-től Eszter a híres fellépéseket tartó, Szörp nevű

acid-jazz együttesben énekelt. Miután befejezte a Liszt Ferenc Zeneakadémiát, 2002-ben megalapította a saját akusztikus jazz együttesét, a Váczi Eszter Quartettet. 7 évet várt az első album megjelenésére. Eszter rájött, hogy leginkább saját, Magyar nyelvű dalokkal tudja kifejezni az érrzéseit. Első száma, a Vissza hozzád, hatalmas siker volt: platina minősítést hoztak az árulások. EN - From 1997, Eszter sang in ‘Szörp’, an acid jazz band known for their very popular live shows, and after her graduation from the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Eszter formed her own acoustic jazz band The Váczi Eszter Quartet in 2002. The audience had to wait seven years for the band’s first album. Eszter realised that original songs with Hungarian words are the best way to express herself as an artist. The first release in 2009 ‘Vissza hozzád’ (Back to you) was an immense success, the sales reaching a platinium certification. In 2010, their debut album was nominated for the Hungarian Labels’ Association Award ‘Fonogram’ in the Best Jazz Album category.

ADAM ROZBORA QUARTETT Trupa a fost formată în septembrie 2016. Cu toții sunt studenți la Academia de Muzică Liszt Ferenc din Budapesta. În repertoriul trupei se pot găsi standarde de jazz și compoziții proprii. Au concertat de mai multe ori în Palatul Artelor, Budapest Jazz Club și alte cluburi în Budapesta.

A zenekar 2016 szeptemberében alakult. Mindannyian a Liszt Ferenc Zeneművészeti Egyetem (Budapest) hallgatói.

A zenekar repertoárjában megtalálhatóak átdolgozott örökzöld jazz standerdek és saját szerzemények is. Többször adtak koncertet a Müpában , a Budapest Jazz Clubban és más pesti klubokban is.

Anita Petrescu is one of Bucharest Music Academy’s top student studying Jazz-Slow music section. Her ability to asimilate, good orientation in artistic options, serioiusness, and not least her unique talent recommends her as a future valuable artist in the romanian music industry.

The band was formed in Septembe 2016. They are all students at Liszt Ferenc Music Academy in Budapest.

The band’s repertoire includes jazz standards and own compositions. They have performed several times in the Arts Palace, the Budapest Jazz Club and other clubs in Budapest.

BÉNI DOROTTYA (BÉNI DOTTI DUO)

ALEX PETRE Alex Petre are 17 ani și este elev în clasa a XI-a la Colegiul Gheorghe Lazăr, Sbibiu. Marea lui pasiune este muzica și explorarea sunetul ei, indiferent de genul muzical abordat.

Pasiunea lui pentru Jazz a început în vara lui 2015, intr-o tabără coordonată de saxofonistul Cătălin Milea și l-a avut ca indrumător pe Alex Man. A avut norocul să cânte alături de artiști precum Marius Preda, Horia Brenciu, Mihai Pitan și mulți alți muzicieni. În prezent colaborează cu naistul Radu Nechifor, în calitate de chitarist și compozitor.

Alex Petre 17 éves, a szebeni Gheorghe Lazăr főiskola XI. osztályos tanulója. Nagy szenvedélye a zene és a hangok tanulmányozása, stílustól függetlenül. A jazz iránti szenvedélye 2015 nyarán kezdődött egy Cătălin Milea által vezetett táborban, ahol megismerkedett Alex Man-nal.

Szerencséje volt, hogy Marius Preda, Horia Brenciu, Mihai Pitan mellett tudott zenélni. Jelenleg Radu Nechiforral dolgozik mint gitáros és zeneszerző Alex Petre is a 17 year old student at the Gheorghe Lazăr College from Sibiu. His big passion is music and exploring the sounds regardless of the genre. His passion tovards jazz started back in 2015 at a camp coordinated by Cătălin Milea where he had Alex Man as his mentor. He played with musicians like Marius Preda, Horia Brenciu and Mihai Pitan. Now he colaborates with Radu Nechifor as a chitarist and composer.

ANITA PETRUESCU Anita Petruescu este una dintre studentele cu rezultatele cele mai spectaculoase din cadrul secţiei de Jazz-Muzică Uşoară a Universităţii Naţionale de Muzică din Bucureşti.

Capacitatea ei de asimilare, buna orientare în alegerea

Béni Dorottya s-a născut în data de 23 aprilie, 1994. Pasiunea ei pentru muzică datează încă din copilărie, ascultând muzică de cor și muzică populară și a cunoscut jazzul la 13 ani. Și-a terminat studiile elementare la Conservatoriul Etűd, la nivel intermediar la Școala Profesională Pikéthy Tibor. Momentan este studentă în anul doi la Colegiul Kodolányi János.

Budapesten született 1994. április 23-án. A zene iránti szeretete gyermekkorában gyökerezik. Kórusműveken és népdalokon nevelkedett. A jazz-zenét 13 évesen, továbbtanuláskor ismerte meg. Zenei tanulmányait alapfokon az Etűd Konzervatóriumban, középfokon a Pikéthy Tibor Zeneművészeti SZKI-ban folytatta.

Jelenleg a Kodolányi János Főiskola másodéves hallgatója jazzének szakon.

Béni Dorottya was born on April 23, 1994. Her passion for music dates back to her childhood, raised on chorus and folk music. She became passionate towards jazz at the age of 13. She completed her elementary studies at the Etűd Conservatory, the intermediate studies at the Pikéthy Tibor Professional School. Currently she is a second year student at János Kodolányi College.

DERLECTIC Trupa Derlectic s-a format în septembrie 2016. Cu toții sunt studenți ai Conservatorului Bartók Béla din Budapesta, departamentul jazz, dintre care 5 membri au început anul acesta.

S-au împrietenit de la început și au decis că vor să cânte și în afara școlii.

A Derlectic együttes 2016 szeptemberében alakult. Mindannyian a budapesti Bartók Béla Konzervatórium jazz szakán tanulnak, a hat tagból ötön ebben a tanévben kezdték tanulmányainkat a konziban. Az együttest tulajdonképpen a zenekari órák hozták össze. Már az elejétől fogva összebarátkoztak és elhatározták, hogy iskolán kívül is zenélni akarnak.

The Derlectic band was formed in September of 2016. They are all studying jazz at the Bartók Béla Conservatory in Budapest, five

of the six members have started their studies this year. The band was actually composed by orchestral classes. From the very beginning, they became friends and decided to play music outside the school.

A zenekar 2016. szeptember elején alakult, Vannai Ștefan vezetése alatt. Részt vettek a Napocensis Nemzetközi Jazz Fesztiválon , és 2016 novemberében első díjat nyertek az Országos Jazz Versenyen.

Farkas Zsolt 1999. május 15-én született, 6 éves korában kezdett zongorázni és 11 évesen énekelni. 13 évesen megnyerte a Tv2-n sugárzott Az ének iskolája című tehetséggondozó műsort, majd 2016 márciusában a jazz-ének kategóriában a III. Országos Jazz versenyt, Budapesten. Jelenleg budapesten a Bartók Béla konzervatórium növendeke jazz-ének tanszakon.

Farkas Zsolt was born on May 15, 1999 and started playing piano at the age of 6 and singing at the age 11. When he was 13 he won at the „The School of Singing” broadcast on Tv2, then in 2016 at the III. National Jazz Competition in Budapest. Currently he studies jazz-singing at the Béla Bartók Conservatory.

FERENCZ ANNAMARIA Ferencz Mari este o tânără cântăreață din Târgu-Mureș. Vocea ei se poate auzi în diferite domenii ale muzicii ușoare: a cântat în formația de rock simfonic Elendil până în 2013 și a devenit solista formației Votska, ce are ca bază ska-reggae-ul. A început studiile în orașul natal în cadrul Liceului de Muzică, în present învață pedagogia muzicală la Universitatea de Arte din Tg-Mureș.

Ferencz Mari fiatal, marosvásárhelyi énekesnő. A könnyűzene különböző területein hallhattuk hangját: a szimfonikus metált játszó Elendil együttesben énekelt 2013-ig, majd a Votska nevű, ska-reggae vonalon mozgó zenekar szólistája lett. Tanulmányait szülővárosában kezdte a Művészeti Líceumban, jelenleg Zenepedagógiát tanul a Marosvásárhelyi Művészeti Egyetemen.

Ferencz Mari is a young singer from Târgu-Mureş. We heard her voice in different areas of local pop music: she sang in the symphonic rock band called Elendil until 2013, and became the soloist of the ska-reggae Votska orchestra. She started her studies in her hometown at the Art School, currently studying musical pedagogy at the Transilvanian University of Art. MIHAI MIREA Mihai Mirea s-a născut pe 11 aprilie 1996. Pe parcursul anilor a colaborat cu diferite trupe și artiști din România. Între 2003-2015 a studiat pian cu profesoara Veronica Sbenghe la Liceul de Arte Dinu Lipatti. SÁRDI TAMÁS „Numele meu este Sárdi Tamás m-am născut pe data de 10 mai 1997, Székelyudvarhely. În prezent sunt student la Universitatea de Arte Târgu Mureș Facultatea de Muzică și Pedagogie. Din copilărie admir muzica de jazz, inclusiv fusion jazz, jazz latin, genurile bebop sunt care sunt cele mai aproape de mine. Am colaborat cu o serie de ansambluri și soliști locali și externi în cariera mea muzicală. Chemarea mea este pianul de jazz, și tot ce tine de dezvoltaea acestei cariere. Obiectivul meu este să „promovez” libertatea jazz-ului.

Un câmp de lumină care se revarsă în sufletele celora care îi ascultă - Sandu Bantaş (Chişinău, Republica Moldova) şi Fabio Netcă (Iaşi, România) întruchipează conceptul duo - Beyond. Au ales amândoi să fac şcoală la UNA George Enescu din Iaşi, fiind îndrumați de domnii profesori Romeo Cozma, Dan Spînu şi Mihaela Loredana Gârlea. Interpretarea lor este degajată indiferent de circumstanțele scenei, dar nu e nici în afara oricărui control, iar această reușită manieră de a simți şi de a se comporta în scenă, le aduc la primul concurs - International Student Jazz Competition 2016 de la Târgu Mureș - premiul Best Stage Performance, mai apoi Premiul Juriului la Concursul Sibiu Jazz Festival din același an. Un duet care se transformă în orchestră când îi fac pe spectatori părtași la actul creației lor interpretative.

More than a voice and a piano, it is a field of light that floods the soul of the listener - Sandu Bantaş (Chişinău, Republic of Moldova) and Fabio Netcă (Iaşi, România) form the duo called Beyond.

They are both students at George Enescu University of Arts in Iaşi, Romania and they are guided by professors Romeo Cozma, Dan Spînu and Mihaela Loredana Gârlea. Their interpretation is free, airily, regardless of the circumstances of the scene, but it is not beyond any control, and it is exaclty this attitude on stage that brought them appreciation at the International Student Jazz Competitionin 2016: the prize for Best Stage Perfomance and the Jury’s Prize in the same year, at Sibiu Jazz Festival. This is a duet that transforms into an orchestra, when they perform on stage in front of their public.

SWANKSTER Robert Wallner de la Universitatea Bruckner din Linz și Michael Seyfried (Conservatoriumul din Vienna) jocă împreună de la îneputul școlii. Pe lângă jazz mai joacă și multe alte stiluri diferite.

S-au întâlnit cu Vuk, care a venit din Serbia pentru a învăța chitara jazz la MUK. Împreună cântă genuri de la jazz până la hip-hop.

Robert Wallner (Bruckner Egyetem) és Michael Seyfried (Bécsi Konzervatórium) együtt zenélnek az iskola kezdete óta. A jazz mellett más stílusokat is játszanak. music and finally they completed the trio when they met Vuk, who came from Serbia to Vienna to study Jazz guitar at MUK. Together they have started to play soulful music all over from Jazz until Hip Hop. SZÁSZ ÁGNES QUARTET Numele meu este Ágnes Szász, m-am născut la data de 5 mai 1988, în Săcele, judeţul Braşov. Din copilărie îmi plăcea să cânt, să ascult muzică, să cânt la chitară, dar nu am pus accent mare pe ele. Dupa ce am absolvit Liceul de informatică şi Universitatea de ştiinţe ale mediului, am simţit că ceva mai lipseşte din viaţa mea şi m-am înscris la Şcoala de Arte Populare secţia de chitară clasică şi muzică uşoară. De atunci a început un nou capitol în viaţa mea.” În prezent este vocalistă, are propriile melodii, prelucrări de muzică populară şi muzică internaţională în direcţia jazzului, bluesului şi muzicii funky .

Szász Ágnes a nevem, egy szép tavaszi nap születtem, május 5-én, 1988-ban, Négyfaluban, Brassó megyében. Kiskorom óta szeretek énekelni, zenét hallgatni, gitározni, de nem fektettem nagy hangsúlyt rá. Miután elvégeztem az informatika líceumot és a környezettudományi egyetemet, éreztem hogy hiányzik valami több az életemből és beiratkoztam a brassói népművészeti iskolába, könnyűzene, ének és klasszikus-gitár szakra. lnnentől kezdve egy új fejezet kezdődött az életemben. Jelenleg énekes vagyok saját dalaim vannak - népi és világzenei feldolgozások a jazz, a blues, a funky műfajaiban.

ZABOS REGINA Zabos Regina a absolvit liceul în 2015 la Școala de muzică din Szabadka, iar în prezent studiază jazz la facultatea Kodolányi János. În 2015 a câștigat titlul de “Székesfehérvár hangja” (Vocea ora;ului Szekesfehervar). Având vârsta de nouăsprezece ani a fost singura care a primit punctajul maxim de la fiecare membru al juriului.

Zabos Regina Csantavéren nőtt fel, idén érettségizett a szabadkai Zeneiskolában, jelenleg a Kodolányi János Főiskola előadóművész szakán dzsesszéneket tanul. 2015-ben megnyerte a Fehérvár Hangja 2015 zenei tehetségkutatót. A tizenkilenc éves versenyző Jennifer Hudson And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going című dalát énekelte, és ő volt az egyetlen, aki a produkciójára minden zsűritagtól maximális pontszámot kapott.
