The main purpose of this project is to create a relaxing and soothing Hammam experience in the heart of Cairo to bring back the long lost beauty of public bathing, while providing the opportunity for the community to participate in all the phases of the project, including the design, construction, and functions of the Cultural Hub.
The southern side of the plot that has the abandoned building is dominated by the community and starts to form a more flexible grid, which slowly transforms into a more rigid form ending on the northern part with the Hammam which is dominated more by outsiders.
Those two big masses at opposite parts hold the space for the communities participatory activities happening in between.

Design with Perma[Culture] In Siwa
Immersed in the vast nature of Siwa, one can only work with nature and it's rules not against it. This is where Permaculture fits perfectly. Permacuture is an approach to land management and settlement design that adopts arrangements observed in flourishing natral ecosystems.
With the rich history of Siwa, Karsheef hold an important role in the identity and history of Siwa, as it is the only place in the world where karsheef is used as construction material.
In this way, this Project focuses on applying Permacutlure design to help reintroduce karsheef as construction material to preserve the heritage of Siwa and to bring the Community together.

In an area with no designed humanity, Karl Marx Allee felt vast and imposing on ones self. Berlin is the city of artists, by creating a space for them to exhibit their work, we not only support the artists and motivate them, but also influence the residents who use it to broaden their horizons and incorporate art into their daily routine. By creating the ramp, we are slowly introducing public functions throughout all floors. We elevate the users and create a welcoming experience where the building engulfs them in an embrace. From an urban perspective we kept the main axis present in the site and incorporated it in the ground level to avoid disturbing the accessibility and the flow of people.

Our Concept breaks down to 3 keywords: Monumentality, Dichotomy, and 'walk through timeline'.
We wanted to create an experience that would fit the hisroty of Cairo and our location (center of Cairo) yet it would still be monumental and majestic. That's why we designed the heavy monumental Islamic stone arches, cutting through a light transparent modern building.

The site has a very strong axis: from the 26th of July going to the Azbakeya existing book market, and that is where the arches are directed. Another cut through the building connects from the exisiting Azbakeya forrest to the new one, enhancing the accessability from the north ans south and strengthening our concept.

The plan strategy was to emphasize the dichotomoy of the project, having a this flowy plan and spiral stairs in contrast with the box like exterior.
The longitudinal section is showing the conversation and contrast between the light building and the heavy monumental stone arches.

The Stepped Dorms
Design Studio 2
The concept of the Stepped Dorms is to have as much outer spaces as possible; as a students like to spend most of their times outdoors wether hanging out with friends or studying in nice fresh air. The shading is done by having wood elements around the balcony. All the public and common areas are found in the ground floor, as the dorms are divided into two, males and female units. Shifting the bottom unit with an angle, creates a dramatic opening for the semi public outdoor garden in the middle.

House Of Light
Design Studio 1
A house for a light artist; the this house is designed to have the main light coming from above to have poetic lighting. Every story gets smaller as we go higher in the house to allow most light to fall down straight to the ground floor where there is an exhibition for the artist; this also enhances the visual connectivity. Not only do the floors get smaller, but as we go up we move from the space becomes more private and personal.

EL MOEZZ ST. INTERVENTION
Introduction to Urban Design
Our concept was to design an intervention to enhance the economical flow for the small business owners and craftsmen in El Moezz. We carefully mapped the area and designed a seating unit, where craftsmen will be able to advertise their products by displaying them and adding a design element to the seating units. There will be a mini map installed in the unit to guide the tourist from the famous touristic areas to the empty ones where no one can see those craftsmen; therefore enhancing the flow of people in the area.

First Year 3D Model Making Creativity courses
Experimentation with different materials, and thinking within the 3D space are important skills to have as an Architect. The introductory courses of the first and second semesters helped a lot to develop these skills.
Creating a 2d template of lines and dotted lines, that when you follow the instructions, it builds a model that is architecturely interesting.
Model built from random objects found home, expressing an imaginary planet
This project was based on the past project of the alternative planet, we kept abstracting the model and the final one was built with gypsum.
Turning a poster of abstractions that we designed into a physical space in a box.
In this project we recieved a text that told a story, we were to design a scene according to this story. After designing it, we modeled it and placed different layers with different spacings to create this 'shadow box'
