OUTCOME DISCUSSION eco-nests

We discussed about what we will do for final outcome on Teams. Tony shared a picture book called WHERE’S WALLY?It is a game to find Wally in thousands of characters.We all think it is an interesting idea and could have team work on designing scene and characters.We all agreed on making a picture book about eco-nests for two kinds of audience: office workers and students at the end of the meeting.

Picture Book Layout

We work as two groups by choosing which areas we want to develop.

This is the office and university structure i made in Sketchup.We are going to add characters and furnitures in.The colour is balck and white to let colourful nests stand out.

Picture Book Character Design

Darcie and Jinrui draw some amazing characters and furnitures in office.Then we have meetings on Team to decide the angle and the location of nests.I learned how to draw on Ipad from them.We had a pleasant and efficient collaboration.

I feel anxious in the first three weeks because our teams have such a big difference in designing styles, ideas even on time zone.But this feeling relieved in next few weeks thanks to better communication.

We spend 6 weeks on critiquing our ideas each other over and over to find a common interested area. Although we were slower than other groups, i think it is paid off. Despite some argument occurred at this stage, we still respect each other's idea and move the project forward as a united team. Moreover, it is not easy to communicate under the pandemic situation.Rayna infected with covid unluckily, Chiara’s wifi was suffered from a hurricane in Bermuda and Simone hadn't got a microphone on his laptop.These issues still didn't stop us having group discussions everyday.I think we did really well.

What’ more,I was lost in finding my position at the beginning because i led the group go into wrong research direction in the first week. In the outcome producing stage, some members have equipment problems, so our progress is delayed.I am good at digital, so i become leader at last three weeks and carry the project forward successfully.Looking back , i learned never be afraid to take the leader's role or to make wrong decisions. As a saying goes, unity is strength. We should build mutual trust only in this way can we overcome the obstacles together.

In conclusion, i raised two goals for me in this group project which is to enjoy and learn something from the collaboration. The second is to accomplish our group outcomes with my 3D skills. Although we have troubles in communications and efficiency, I was satisfied with working with them.
