Module 1: How to Draw a Crossiant

MEASURED DRAWING OF A CROISSANT
During this section, we are asked to draw a croissant whith different views and that of sections. Also, an axometric view is also needed to contain in the drawings. I drawed outlines, hatchings and shading parts and then multiply them together to make them more realistic. But I cleaned all the drawings first. After this module, I understand how the shading and hatching parts influence the whole feeling of one drawing, and through anxometric drawing, it helps me to understand better how the view influence drawings.

This mudule is an isometric view of the Mario wold. During the drawings, the height and width as well as Length is very different with the view when people observe something just stand in front of it. Also, flatness and projective is the main theme of this project.

Module 3: Pattern vs Surface

PAPER LANDSCAPE
During this module, I learned how to use Rhino to constructed a 3D module and use both points and lines attraction. Firstly, I constructed the module, then explore them and lastly sticked them together. This module is about pattern and surfaces, how a surface can formed a 3D pattern, what surface is base and what is above. Triangle, square and special patterns have different ways to form a pattern. I used four patterns to constructed whole module, what I want to represent is the surface of water, the minimum point of wave as well as peak.

INVISIBLE CITY The Macpolo comes from the middle point of the long side, then he goes towards and see several men who are working to build a platform, he then know that all of them dreamed the same woman, she is just above, so they wish to pursue her and see her. After a long time, the platform was successfully constucted, but no woman there, all the walls are flawed, the middle line is just a mirror line, the location is same, but represent different time line. This module is about frame and field, how a real place lookes like.

This beautiful lady stands on an extremely decorated platform with the wall painting on the surface of platform. She is perfect, stays with angels, just like in the heaven; men want to persue her, but it is very hard. Also, window is like that of church, it makes the sence blesser. Moreover, I wish to use backgroound and decoration to stengthen the felling of the scence, not only a background.

With the time pass on, men could reach the place where the woman stand. They saw cracked columns, no woman, nothing is similar to the scene that they dreamed. In this story, the woman not only represent the person men wish to persue, but also their appetency. Once people is very close to the dream, they do not want to persue anymore, or in other words, they were dominated by appetency. Two scenes represent the same place but with different views on each side of the city, the horizontal axis is more likely to be a mirror but divided time.

REFLECTION Through these four modules, I know that people have eyes and different minds, a sample thing which observe by different people and views, the result can be diversity. For module 1, a corissant̢۪s drawing is two dimention, but combine those drewings, a three module can be made with exactly the same length and width. Hatching and shading is important when people wish to make the plan drawing more real. Also, module 2, axonometric drawings are reflected digitally demonstrating the links between hand drawing and digital representation, it also represents the flatness and projective. Module 3 linked digital modelling with producing a developable surface. During the process, I can also know how the surface transfer to a three dimentions modle. Finally, module four demonstrates the integration of all these digital processes to illustrate the progression and flow of work required across the various software. This module mainly depends on the use of photoshop. These four modules give the chance to represent things through orally and digitally ways. Each of them also need critical thinkings and the ability of manage layout of our works. Before learning this subject, I just know little about drawings, about using those techniques softwares, so this is a big challenge for me to use them and understand drawing techniques, sthis took me a long time to familiar with them, although some functions still confused me a lot. The most difficult part for me is during the module 2 by using Ai. It is really hard for me to apply the color tools due to the messy lines that I have already traced it. Another part is the idea. It is hard to come up with special and meaningful ideas, for example, module 4. Also, I found that presentation is a good way to explain your idea and how you applied the software. To further improve my work in the future, I think a detailed consideration of the given medium is required. After learned these, I know what are the problems for me, how can I fix them and hopefully, I can act better in the next semester. Overall, this semester has given me an insight into different forms of design representation, it has pushed me to challenge my throughts, encouraged me to experiment with unfamiliar digital software and given me the confidence to present and feel proud of my finished work.
