WELCOME To ARTOBER 2016 PRESENTED BY THE YALE-NUS VISUAL ARTS SOCIETY (VAS)

Welcome to the 3rd edition of ARTOBER! Each year, VAS presents a full month of art events and activites in October. We say this every year, but we are really not kidding when we say that ARTOBER is back bigger and better than ever before.

program which supports a selected group of experienced student artists to create original art work. We are incredibly excited to see what the AGP artists produce through our rigorous, guided creation process. So join us on this month-long ride: Try out a new art medium, hone your existing skills, or simply celebrate the achievements of your fellow student artists. If you attend 4 or more events and get those beautiful custom-made stamps on your ARTOBER stamp card, you may even receive a limited edition ARTOBER Tee!

Since those early days back in RC4, ARTOBER has grown into a fullfledged annual art festival with a varied and extensive calendar of events. The ARTOBER festival is in line with VAS’ dual aims of helping experienced student artists to hone their craft, while providing opportunities for students of all skill levels to make and appreciate art. From sharing sessions and workshops, to art jams, sketchwalks and exhibitions, there truly is something for everyone.

Have a fun, fulfilling, and memorable ARTOBER 2016. We’ll see you around!

For the first time, VAS is proud to present the inaugural ARTOBER Art Grant Program (AGP). AGP is a structured funding and development

artfully yours,

ART GRANT PROGRAM (AGP) works by agp artists will be shown at the artober exhibition

The ARTOBER Art Grant Program (AGP) is a structured funding and development program in its first year. The grant supports the creation of original art work by experienced Yale-NUS student artists, accompanying funding with a rigorous, guided creation process. Selected artists will attend weekly art crits with invited guest artists, and work together to curate a cohesive group exhibition. The theme for AGP 2016 is ‘Balance’. Visit yncvas.com/artober2016 for more details, and apply at tinyurl.com/artoberagp2016. Applications close 2nd October 2016, 1700.
