Jolly and Kelly were eating sweets while walking along the shore one day.
“Hey! What did you throw?”
They removed the wrappers and as usual, threw it away.
Jolly was surprised to see a Hermit Crab waving to her.
“Do you know what happen to the sea creatures when you throw wrappers on the shore?� said Hermit Crab.
“No idea. Anyway it was just a wrapper!”
“Come! Put on these goggles and fippers. I will bring you to our underwater world to see how pollution has affected our life.� said Hermit Crab.
It was quiet and calm as they dived into the deep blue sea…
“Help! Help!” A turtle seemed to be choking.
Doctor Octopus arrived immediately and he used his long tentacle to remove a wrapper from the turtle’s throat.
“I thought it was a delicious jellyfish.” explained the turtle
“Why did you swallow the wrapper?” asked Jolly
“Many turtles had died from swallowing wrappers or plastics.� said Doctor Octopus.
Jolly felt ashamed of what she had done.
“What’s that dark liquid?” asked Jolly.
“Oh! That’s waste materials from the factories. They contain chemicals and oil which are very harmful.” replied Hermit Crab.
“Ouch!” Jolly screamed in pain, she had been cut by a broken glass bottle. She yelled when she saw blood oozing out from her leg…
“Jolly! Jolly!� called Mum. Jolly woke up and realized that it was a dream. Jolly told her mother about her dream. Her mother explained about the facts of pollution.
“I promise not to litter again.� asked Jolly. Jolly realised her act of littering was harmful to the environment.
