ZION HILL OUTREACH

Hurricane Relief to Louisiana Residents

A

s a reflection of Jesus Christ, once again, Zion Hill Baptist Church demonstrates the words of Matthew 25: 35-40, “ For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison, and you came to visit. Truly, I tell you whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me.” Zion Hill Church whose core existence is Outreach, indeed loves the Lord with all our hearts, souls, and minds. We do love our neighbors, whether near or far.

Zion Hill quickly sprang into action to aid many in the Louisiana area devastated by Hurricane Ida, which included many of the seniors. They were underwater and without electricity. Working with Rev. Michael Matthews and the Dropping the Net Ministries, Zion Hill purchased and donated twenty generators and twenty window air conditioners to offer some relief. As Hurricane Ida continued to raise havoc, Zion Hill’s demonstration of our love and commitment continued to soar. With Pastor Parker’s approval, four of Zion Hill’s dedicated servants including Brother Wilbert Antoine, Brother Carl Labat, Brother Larry O’Connor, and Deacon Thomas

Williams, drove to Houma, LaPlace, and Reserve, Louisiana to deliver 300, $50 Wal-Mart gift cards. The following organization were blessed by Zion Hill’s generous donation: New Wine Christian Fellowship Church Community, Pastor Neil Bernard; The New Rising Sun Baptist Church Community, Pastor Kenneth Wayne Jackson, Houma. LA; Upsilon Mu Zeta Alumnae Chapter Zeta Phi Beta in La Place, LA, Coordinator, Lynette Recasneor; Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church Community in Reserve, LA, where Father Amandi is the Priest.
