Blessing Bags

“If the church isn’t lending a helping hand like Jesus did then what is the purpose? I am so happy that at

Zion Hill we do more than sing songs and listen to Dr. Parker every Sunday. We help people in need by giving them food and items to survive. We go visit nursing homes and sing, sit, and pray with them. We help children in Africa with education and daily meals, we help preserve the community by planting trees and cleaning up the community. Zion Hill does so many things”, explains Reverend Cox.

When project Blessing Bag was completed, Reverend Cox noted that some of the children and teens expressed how giving Blessing Bags made them feel good, kind, and like they are making a difference. One child even made a connection between project Blessing Bag with Jesus feeding the multitude with two fish and five loaves of bread.

Reverend Cox would like to extend a special thank you to all the volunteers and teachers who helped make project Blessing Bag a success.

added that her generosity sometimes included providing his friends and other neighborhood youth with meals that may have consisted of northern beans cooked with a ham hock and a little rice. She also made it clear that she didn’t provide that basketball goal just for him and his siblings but for them and all of their friends.

Reverend Watkins described it as all a part of “living Black in Eatonville, Florida.” Living Black, according to Reverend Watkins, meant you loved your people, you fed your people, you helped your people, and you didn’t consider it a sacrifice. The essence of his message was to throw out any of today’s society’s thoughts, which are often only about self and those in immediate family circles.

What does serving others get for you?

Reverend Watkin emphasized that you receive a blessing from God, and that is a connection to Him? Your service brings glory to God’s name.

Reverend Watkins also emphasized, “If you are going to have a renewed mind, if you’re going to know what the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God is, you have to give God your reasonable service. As he put it, “The Holy Spirit moves in revelatory ways when you serve.”

Remember what the elders proclaimed, and Reverend Watkins predicted for your future when you serve God.

“When you serve the God of Freedom, n You will know the will of God for your life. n You will feed your faith. n You will see the plans that God has for you. n You will see your vision, write your vision, and run to fulfill your vision.

To experience your Power Surge toward transformation, use the strategy prescribed by Reverend Watkins. “Do some new stuff. You can’t keep doing what you’ve always done. God can’t stretch you and grow your faith if you don’t try God.”n
