TEENAGERS’ LIBRARY (2018)
This project re-envision an existing branch of the New York Public Library to respond to contemporary issues of the library typology in its cultural setting, with specific emphasis on use by a teen-aged demographic.

The concept “Carve and Lift“ is the design language of the interior space, which improves the space more dynamic. The variation from sites’ original materials (oak wood) to new material (concrete and glass) is also exposed and showed by this language.

Here is the process model designed based on the concept "Carve and Lift". The Carve idea comes from the middle reading pool which is design for the social place toward the teens. And "Lift" indicate the second floor space includeing storage area decend from ceiling. On the right side, the reading room is designed as several stairs. Teens can enjoy their reading and writing time in the seperate rooms. Also on left side is the book shelves. On the second floor which people can arrive by elevator, is the librarian's office and computer desk. Under that is the vedio room.

The father works on Wall Street and the mother works as a robotic automation engineer. The daughter plays soccer and takes dance classes, and as a family they often go to church with the Grandmother.

Public space and private space interlock with each—the design focus on creating a highlyconnected but independent relationship of them. The public area located on the basement and ground floor (nearby entrance )shows the warmth and hospitality of clients. The design for the urban dwelling will explore adaptive strategies (temporal and spatial) within a dwelling unit, between people and their environment, and how these are shaped by personal behavior and habits, cultural norms, and physical abilities and projected evolving needs of the occupants. This project designs a contemporary urban residence for a family who usually are busy within their work during the weekday but enjoy to have a relaxing time with family and friends during the weekend. The clients are wine lovers and collectors. This project creates a warm, comfortable, and free atmosphere to release clients from the stress of work and help them to focus on time with their family and friends.

The perspective of the whole house show the design of the space's layout, meanwhile, it also show how the materials and furnitures work in this house. The choice of material and furniture attempt to create a relaxed atmosphere which provide a warm and harmony family enviornment to these people who want to have a rest in their home. The design of furniture also consider the collection of the client. The wine cooler occupy nearly 30% space of the whole building. The main stoarge place of wine (in cellar and ground floor) help the owner to collect as much as they want. At the same time,it also help client and visistor to see the wine everywhere.

A workspace designed for UnitedNations Division for Inclusive Social Development on the nine floors of the Pepsi-Cola building . The idea of this project is to build a harmous and efficient atmosphere to the crew. LIVING , WORKING and EDUCATION are three main activities occured in this space. After the threshold study, concept overlapping is utilized to develop the relationship between space. In the final model, the concept of CONTINUITY becomes the ultimate and the main idea. The idea of CONTINUITY wants to offer a harmonious and efficient atmosphere to the crew. The overlapping of the public program provides a more efficient space. The curve movement happens inside provides a peaceful atmosphere.

There are three construction models, each one indicates the spacial relationship of threshold in future design. Each concept model shows two sorts of spacial relationships.The middel one is the final proposal. Based on this model, a concept "OVERLAP" is developed in the future design.

The spirit about keeping fighting is advocated through this chair’s material-- CONCRETE. It is a CHAIR with 12 FEET Diameter. The height of each step is 18”. Some of step can be used as book storage. BUSHWICK BROOKLYN .NY. 11206 (2019) My client BUSHWICK GENERATOR want to utilze the space in front of their new hostle. The space I use is 152’ x 100’ x 34’ . Due to the dense population of New Puerto Rican in Bushwick and also the abundant tourist sources in surrounding area. The bookstore is designed for advocating the PUERTO RICO ‘s profound history and multiple culture PUERTO background to BUSHWICK area for reinforcing culture’s recognization and a suitable RICO space for cultural communication. And this CHAIR symplify the essence and spirit of this store PUERTO RICO which isPUERTO the EMBRANCE RICO and the COMBINATION from two sides ( people who are familar with Puerto Rico and idividuals who leak the knowlege about Puerto Rico). My concept model shows the essential consideration of my chair. The idea is named COMBINATION, which indicates the combination of two different cultures. The intention of COMBINATION tends to create a harmonious atmosphere and bring mutual benefits to each other. The two cultures not only can assist each other. Meanwhile, they will progress when they combine. The shadow shows a reflection of their combination. Besides, the vogue picture tends to exhibit a trace of culture's movement (inmigration).
