Sellers Love Letter to 100 Meadowcroft
Dear Beloved 100 Meadowcroft,
If home is where one’s heart is, you are and will always be home to us.
Thank you for holding our family of six during the primary chapter of our family life You are forever lovingly tattooed in the hearts of us all, especially our four kids, and dog Charlie.
You gave each of our kids a safe yet free-range childhood. One where they could meet up with friends, walk to school and nearby playgrounds, hike to watch sunsets, and cruise around on their bikes, scooters, and skateboards You have served impeccably as both their cozy respite and gateway to community
Each school was a hop, skip, or jump away And we attended them all, from Brookside to White Hill, and of course Archie Williams. Weekday mornings were always such a delight when friends would arrive here, gathering in the kitchen and courtyard in laughter and conversation, to then walk collectively to school or the bus stop together as one.
Little did we know when we bought you that you would hold us safely and cozily through a pandemic You have been our cozy safe haven, sanctuary, and home base.
You have been the heart and hub of this idyllic neighborhood community. Home to what affectionately became known as The Driveway Café, you have been the always ‘OPEN’ outdoor gathering space which we started during the pandemic and then never closed You remained a place where neighbors and friends lounged, food was served, live music played, along with an occasional ‘walk-in’ movie. You were the perfect home in the perfect spot for our family’s convivial nature and a cornerstone for community connections
Just as you were the neighborhood’s playdate central and teen hangout, and the choice corner for every summer lemonade stand - perhaps best of all, you became the must-visit house on the corner for Halloween – with each year’s creation aiming to out-do the last. Always with buckets of treats and coolers full of cold adult beverages as crowds would gather How we will miss this creativity you helped inspire in us each year
We relished our time in every one of your nooks! Naps in the courtyard, coffee in the front garden, birthday donuts in the breakfast nook (so many birthday donuts), graduation celebrations in the driveway, meaningful family dinners in the dining room, and relaxing by the fire in the living room
You have been home to so many firsts - first family dog, first bike rides and first walks to school, first sleepovers, first cars, and first kids off to college How thankful and fortunate we are to have shared these with you
All of this, etched into our memories for lifetimes to come May our spirit remain within your walls in the same way you live in our hearts Our love and gratitude abound!
