Math 12,Physics 20 and Computer 13 projects. The students showed their science projects and demonstrated and explained their ideas and themes.

The fair started at 8:00 up to 11:00 in the morning and 2:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon with an interval of an hour per visiting group of students from different public schools in Phnom Penh.

The fair brought together over 4000 students, participants and distinguished observers from the municipal education establishment.

ACTIVITIES

Each project had their own tables and spaces to accommodate interested visitors to play and ask questions about the displayed projects and experiments. Most of the students really enjoyed playing English games. They just don’t have fun; they are also winning prizes if they are able to answer the trivia or simply participate in the game.

The 2009 Science Fair achieved its goals of providing Zaman’s students a creative outlet for their ideas. Students built an impressive collection of machines and devices, models and graphics exemplifying their decisive

commitment to their projects.

The affair was indeed fun and educational. The participating students and teachers of ZIS and most especially the visiting students, teachers and even parents really had a great time during the Science Fair. This affair was a success due to the efforts, cooperation, wise planning and management of both ZIS students and teachers.

We hereby salute the ZIS family for a job well done.

Looking forward to more successful Science Fairs!

This is the 4th year for ZIS holding their Science Fair.This is better than last year as a result from Mr. Murat Tutumlu,the director of Science Fair.Science Fair 2009 was from 23rd to 25th April 2009 with 110 students from grade 7 to grade 12 who were on duty in 6 subjects such as Science and 3 others subjects (Khmer Literature ,Turkish and English).During those 3 days,there were more than 4000 students from several public schools in Phnom Penh.There were totally 96 interesting projects for them to see.As we were the presenters , we were so happy to present our project to them.They were really interested in all of our projects but especially they enjoyed the games a lot.

Actually,all the students that were on duty with both all the teachers were a bit tired but no one gave up,we worked ard on those 3 days and we have done very well.We heard some admirations from the visitors, those words made us feel so proud of our work.On the last day of science fair,our friends that didn’t have any work on those days,came and visited us.Science Fair ended with the best result .Everybody loved their work a lot,and hope that next year will be much better .Thanks to ZIS for making the best high school life for us. *********

Little Scientists And Cultural Attachés Of Zaman Primary Z A M A N I N T E R N AT I O N A L SCHOOL Primary Campus recently organized one of the most interesting and amazing activities of the year: “Science and Cultural Fair”. The event took place on Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 01, 2009.

The motto of the activity was quite significant: “Inspiring the little innovators of Cambodia” and “A cultural experience that lasts a lifetime.” The main purpose of this event was to carry ZAMAN Primary students beyond the horizons of a very limited understanding of science textbooks and to introduce them to different cultures from around the world. The fair was also open to public, to parents and government schools. Therefore, many public schools students, hundreds of outsiders, groups of educators and teachers from a variety of institutions visited the fair ground. Of course, there were other objectives such as building good relations with visitor schools, creating an environment where learning can be fun for the children of Cambodia, and presenting the incomparable facilities of ZAMAN, proving the quality of education at ZAMAN and so on.

The fair was held at ZAMAN Primary Campus (Toul Kork); the ground floor was reserved for science experiments which assisted visitors to discover amazing scientific facts. There were nearly 30 experiments all run by primary school students ranging from grade 1 up to grade 5. To name some of the experiments; the amazing disappearing ink, skewered balloons, rainbow in a glass, blast of rocket science, bubble bomb, geodesic gumdrops and

many others… The visitors all enjoyed their time and left the ground floor to the first floor with the pleasure of learning new things from the little innovators of ZAMAN. On the first floor where ZAMAN has the fancy facilities e.g. computer lab, science lab, music room, art room, conference hall, the visitors were met with a variety of activities. The outstanding ones were traditional dances from different cultures, songs in different

languages, introduction to some computer programs.

Well, the guests were amazed even on the first floor, but that was not all of it yet. The second floor was the flash of the event.

Ten classrooms on the second floor were decorated as ten different countries, namely Cambodia, Turkey, Philippines, Bangladesh, the UK, Japan, The USA, China, Australia and Singapore. The visitors were met by the mascots of each country; students dressed in traditional

clothes of the countries were greeting them in that country’s language. Inside the classrooms you could find everything about the mentioned countries; from politics to religion, from landmarks to flags, traditional clothes and food, national animals and symbols, etc. To give some outstanding examples from some classes; Cambodian musical instruments and agricultural products, traditional clothes and dances, Turkish rugs and home-made cookies, traditional home style from Philippines, cherry blossoms and lanterns in Japan, exciting dance shows in China, the harmony and diversity of Singaporean culture, kangaroos, koalas, surf boards and boomerangs from Australia, Hollywood stars, the White House design with the presidents of the USA, the tigers of Bangladesh, traditional clothes and lifestyle...

As a parent expressed her appreciation: “It was like visiting ten countries the same day!”

Last but not least, the third floor was also beautifully designed for Language Fair where students and guests had a great time playing over 15 different language games. The games were all prepared with the purpose of teaching and implementing the rules of English and Khmer languages.

On the event days, hundreds of visitors walked around and they left the school campus with that indescribable feeling of joy and satisfaction. They were all so proud to see that there is a new generation of little innovators and cultural attachés of Cambodia.

GENERAL

Science Club

We are the members of the science club which is run by our teacher Miss Serap Yalcin.

During the 2 hours of our club we do experiments to familiarize ourselves with science. Our experiments include everything from simple things like surface tension to the reaction of chemicals. Our club has 11 members from 8F and 7E. Here is what we have to say about our club: Viriya Keo, 7712 I have learnt so much from participating in this club. Joining this club helped me understand science better and how to use it in our lives. I couldn't have

chosen a better club.

Puthyneath Lim, 8933 I have learnt a lot of things that are related to science. I have me a lot of new friends and my relationship with became closer.

I have performed many interesting experiments in the science club.

Akchhara Chharom, 7722 I really like this club because we do many experiments every week. I also feel very comfortable knowing that my homeroom teacher is there and I have lots of friends to help me when I need their help.

Daly Chan Choun 7734 I have learnt a lot of experiments

from my friends and teacher. I like this club so much because I have learnt a lot of things from this club that can help me in my everyday life. I love science.

Leakhana Khy, 7714 I am really lucky to be in the science club. I really love science club because it is fun, I have a very good teacher, I learn a lot of scientific things from this club and it has helped me in my science lessons.

Safiny Mert, 7744 I like the science club very much.

After joining this club I have had more experience with science and I have done many experiments with my friends and the

teacher in my club.

Fanita Math, 7746 I'm very happy to joijn this club because I learned to do experiments and learned about chemicals and that some of them can be very dangerous if not handled properly.

Sopheak Raksmey Van, 7724 I didn't really like science very much before, but after joining this club I really love it. I found out that science is very interesting., fun, and it is very useful in everybody's daily life too.

Somonia Sophan 8702 I am a member of science club.

I'd like to say thank you to my teacher and my friends for helping me. I have learnt a lot of cool experiments and I understand science much better than before.

Pechmolika Kimsour, 8704 I have learnt a lot about science after joining this club. I really enjoy doing experiments. I want to say thanks to all of my friends and teacher for helping and making this club fun every week.

Kanika Lin, 8708 I am really happy to be in this club, because the club taught me a lot of useful things. I really enjoy studying in science club and have a lot of fun in this club.

Thank you for all the fun. I love science club.

In conclusion, science club is an educational club that makes its members learn but still have fun at the same time. All of this has been possible thanks to Miss Serap Yalcin and the students in our club.

Don't forget that science is fun and it is not only useful in the classroom but in our everyday lives as well.

GENERAL

Violin Club

C

lub is an extra activity class which makes us feel relief after the long tired day of lessons. The students can choose one club they prefer.

Among all club, the most interesting one is, Violin. This musical instrument has 4 strings with beautiful shape that made from special kind of wood. It makes soft sweet melody that people always want to listen and fall their feelings deep in it.

Because of this, 18 students chose this club. The students have to own their violin. Violin club divided into 2sections, first

for grade 7th & 8th on every Monday and Wednesday, and second for grade 10th & 11th on every Tuesday and Thursday, with an experienced teacher, Mrs. Oum Sophay. Here are some student’s opinions about their violin club that we have interviewed:

12-B's Dinner

On 3rd of October 2009,our homeroom teacher, Mr Mustafa, invited top 10 students in the class to have dinner at Le cedrea. Le cedrea is a Lebanon restaurant. It has a beautiful view of Riverside and the people there are friendly. Mr Mustafa said that Lebanese food is similar to Turkish.

Unfortunately, we had some difficulty on food menu because we don`t know any of those foods. Mr Mustafa advised us to take Shawarma. We all took this with different kind of meat.This meal doesn`t work on Cambodian tongue, it`s very At 7pm we gathered at school. At sour. But everyone almost 7:15 we left by car and finished it because we were motorbike. We entered the hungry. Luckily, Bunnarith got an restaurant at 8pm because of idea to reduce the sourness by

eating with tomatoes and bread.

On the other hand,our teachers enjoyed it very much. During the dinner, we watched football match on TV and chatted. As I remembered that match was between Liverpool and Newcastle. Talking about football, I could tell you a story, leave it away. We have been together about one and half hour, but it seemed like 15minutes.

Time was running very fast when we are happy. We realized that the dinner is going to end. After

the meal we had desert which was very sweet with some nuts on it. At 9:45 we left the restaurant.

Briefly, on behalf of 12B`s top 10 students, I would like to say thank you to our teacher, Mr. Mustafa Dur. We had a great time there. We love this dinner. I wish it couldn`t be the last.

12-B's Dormitory Moments After the examinations,12B students were invited to join the dormitory for a night. Approximately,10 students were able to come and slept at the dormitory.

Everybody was very excited and delighted when we arrived at the dormitory because our homeroom teacher, Mr.Mustafa, and other supervisors welcomed us with warmhearted smiles and said “Welcome Boys”.After we have put our baggage in the sleeping room, all the students came downstairs an played the Play Station with our hosts. We all liked the same game so no one got mad or kicked out of the games. Whenever our homeroom teacher played the game, we supported him and tried to discourage his opponents. For instance, Mr.Davut got beaten by our homeroom teacher several times. We had a lot of fun and we could hear nothing except laughing and cheering. Then it was time for our unforgettable dinner. We were served with a very tasty Turkish dish, MAKLUBE. It was the first time in our whole life that we could relax and eat luscious meal with all of our teachers at the same place. We also took a lot of pictures during dinner so that memory will be our hearts always. Our teachers were very kind and let us eat most of the food. Therefore, we were so satisfied after the dinner.

After we settled down and chatted with each other, it was time for us to go to our football field and play. It was around 10:30pm when we left the dormitory and went to school. At that night, the weather was so

timely for our football match. We didn’t get tired because our dinner had given us strength and enthusiasm. We played football together for about 1 and half hour. Then we asked permission from our teacher to play computer games. He allowed us to use the computer lap and played some games with him. It was so amusing when we could play games with our teachers and friends. We didn’t know what

time was it because we were concentrating on our games until our teacher told us to go back to the dormitory. We left the school at around 12 AM. When we came back to the dormitory, some of us were still sitting and playing the play station. We didn’t want to sleep because we didn’t want to let this moment pass easily but our teacher told us to sleep in order not to get so tired for the next day.During our bedtime,

some students tried to take some pictures of the sleeping students secretly. We have got many good photos of our friends when they were sleeping. That night was the most notable night in our lives.

We hope that we can come to the dormitory more often and make many unforgettable memories. ********

ACTIVITIES

Dormitory 9-E It was the day of the Science Project Competition (120th, March 2009).At 2pm,we were leaving our homes to go to our teacher’s house because we had decided to celebrate with a small party there.

When we arrived at the teacher’s house and entered the room, we were very excited because the whole room was decorated by colored balloons. It was awesome and everyone chose their own balloon according to their favorite color. Our teachers were in the kitchen busy cooking stuff. Some of us tried to find another way to amuse ourselves while the others were helping the teachers in the kitchen.

Subsequently,Mrs. Goksel arrived and she told us to turn around. At that time, we were extremely curious about what would happen next after a little while, the light dimmed ans she told us to turn around. We saw nothing but candle light. She surprised us with a cake or which she had written ‘’hosgeldiniz’’.

We were absolutely delighted and astonished.

A moment later, the food was ready to be served. While we had dinner we took photos as we ate a lot and those photos were hilarious. After a wonderful dinner of spaghetti, hot dogs, potatoes and some other vegetables, we played many games and danced.

Time was passing so fast,8pm was coming. Most of our friends went back home one by one and finally there were only 6 students left and those were the ones who were sleeping at the teacher’s house. I was also one of them.

That was the 2nd time for me to sleep at the dormitory. All we had to do was just relax and enjoy the entertainment. Soon tea time had come. It was our favorite time because we could eat again as eating was one of our favorite pass times.

Beds were ready the time had arrived, we slept in one room which was next to our teachers’ room. She told us to go to sleep but we didn’t, we just played and talked for hours because we all felt excited. Time went by and we didn’t even notice that it was already 3 o’clock in the morning.

We all felt extremely exhausted.

Our eyes were burning but we

still ept on talking until 3 of our friends were drooling on their pillows with a peaceful look; However, there were 3 other people who were awake. Those were Visoth Thyda, Monyroth and me. An hour later, we said good morning instead of good night to each other and slept like dead people.

After not more than 3 hours we all woke up. Everybody took a bath and got ready for breakfast.

Next, we decided to go outside

but we weren’t sure about which place to go yet. So we just rode in a big Tuk Tuk and went nowhere like a group of birds without a destination. After a long time, we found a place to go which was ‘’Wat Phnom’’.We walked around and too a lot of photos.

Then, we continued on our way to Soriya Shopping Centre. We ate a big bowl of ice-cream which is named ‘’Earthquake’’ at Swensens. After finishing the ice-cream,we returned to the

dormitory. We didn’t play much then because we were absolutely worn out because we hadn’t gotten enough sleep the previous night. At last, we went downstairs and picked mangoes. That was our last memorable activity.

One at a time, we went back home. We still miss the time that we spent together. We would love to have such a gleeful activity like this again and again.

ABROAD TRIP

7th Turkish International Olympiad Turkish Olympiad song contestants are now auditioning on Turkey’s capital city called Ankara. The songs contest portion of the 7th Turkish International Olympiad was held on 28 May and celebrated until the 8th of June with many students from other countries who qualified for the competition.

They will be giving an unforgettable show at the congress center in Ankara.

The students from each country performed songs from a variety of genres, making it difficult for the jury to select the final 10 who will then compete to get the highest number of votes from the viewing audience.

In 2009 our Zaman Int’l school selected three students to join the competition the same as last year. Now they are in Turkey and they are trying their best to show to the other countries that we live in a different place and use a different language, but we can sing; write; speak and read in the Turkey languages.

The students who joined the competition were: Monyneath from 10F (singing : Sabret gonul); Rachana from 10E (speaking and writing); Nory from 9B (poem: Kime emanet).

They have been in Turkey since the 10th of the June 2009 with teacher Vesile Kaplan(Turkish

Teacher) with one more student who joined the 6th Olympiad called Maliny from 11E, last year she got number 4 out of around 110 countries.

At the Pochentong Airport there were so many parents, their friends and Zaman teachers to send them off with saying the

words “Good luck to all of you”. medal for speaking and writing Now, our students Nory from 9B Turkish language. got the first place among Pacific countries for reciting poem and he won the gold medal.

10f Mother's Day Performance Mother's Day was created by Anna Jarvis, as a day to honor mothers and motherhood; especially within the context of families, and family relationships . It is now celebrated on various days, in many parts of the world.

It is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. It is celebrated on the second Sunday in May. As in 2009 it was celebrated on the 10th of May. Along with this, our 10F students had the great honor of celebrating the warm feelings of mother’s day for our mothers on the 8th of May. Our mother’s day performance started at 9.am and finished at 11.am. We were very excited and we were also making a sincere effort to give a great to our mothers. Our performance had a lot of programs, such as singing, drama, poems about how wonderful a mother is to her children, slide shows that talked about how much your mother loves you, and the last one was our 10F students’ group song.

We sang a song all together about gratitude to all mothers. At first, when we were practicing, we worried about whether performance would go well or not, because we had prepared for the performance. We did not expect that the show was going to be totally perfect for our mothers. However, after seeing the smiles on all our mother’s faces we knew that they really enjoyed it very excited. And of course, they felt happier than they had ever felt before. We realized that this was our first time to organize a performance especially for our mothers, although we had already

performed the class day. This second performance was the happiest time for us and it touched us deep in our heart.

Our performance started with the slide show, which was a tale show about “a tree’s like a mother” Next we sang a song about appreciating mothers. The 3rd was a short drama that shows how your mother loves you. The 4th was a reading a story about “woman hard life” and a slide show named “EYE”.

The 5th was also singing. The 6th was drama tells about a woman who loves and cared for her family even through it’s hard for her. The 7th was a slide show about an infant named “Angel”.

The 8th was poem reading about a wonderful mother for her children. The 9th was singing

and the last was a slide show that expressed the feelings of all students saying millions of thanks to their mothers. We played a song called “White X’mas”, the music was so beautiful that it made all the audience and students feel warm in the heart and want to shed tears. This slide was so special as it was about the grateful feeling for mothers from all our hearts. I also felt very touched.

Our performance ended with a song that we sang together to thank our mother for taking care of us and how wonderful our life can be by having a mother. Last but not least we made a little surprise for our mothers and our h o m e r o o m t e a c h e r, M r s .

with a kiss; it was a very touching moment and some students cried. After the performance, we served our mothers some snacks at the canteen.

We would like to thanks Mrs. Yasemin and Ms. Merve. They prepared a lot of things for us.

This performance was the most memorable moment for our lives and it has made the relationship between us and our mothers stronger. We deeply appreciate our mothers for all the things that they had done for us since we were born, now, and in the future. Mother, thank you, and, Mother, I LOVE YOU~!

11-E Will Never Ever Forget The 1st Of May...

The 1st of May was International Labor Day, celebrated by our country as well as many others.

However, 11E didn't have that day off but it was still one of our best days.

Our school gives each a class a chance to create an activity called CLASS DAY. Every class creates their own activities on that day, so in 11E we had our class day on the 1st of May, 2009.

Our Class Day started at 9:00am and finished at 12:00pm, but the 30 students in our class and our homeroom teacher Miss Vesile Kaplan had to come a t6:'00am to get ready before our guests came. No one was late, we were all together at wardrobe helping each other get dressed.

At the same time we had our other things to do, I was the Emcee so I had to memorize all my lines. Nobody was idle, nobody was bored or unhappy.

We created our class day with things from our culture and traditions such as clothes and food. All the programs were traditional Khmer except the Turkish songs. We laughed at each other when we got dressed, it was not that funny but we had never seen our friends wearing such clothes before. After we got dressed we had to stand in front of the Conference Hall to say welcome to the guests.

4 students managed that but we found out that there were a lot more guests than we planned for so extra students had to reinforce the students at the

door.

Our guests were our families and our teachers, they were so surprised when they saw us wearing various Khmer Traditional clothing. Mrs. Els, our English biology teacher said that she liked the Khmer farmer costumes and our homeroom teacher said she really loved all our costumes, which was just what we wanted to hear. At 5 minutes to 9am all our guests had arrived so that prompted us to start the program. "Thanks to our school, our principle, our teachers and our parents that have given us both strength and

encouragement.

They have been the greatest things that have helped us to stand here today and this experience will profit us in the future". That was the first sentence to start our class day. Our programs were Khmer Popular Dances called "Ro bam Krarb".

Our programs were Khmer Popular Dance called “Ro bam Krarb”, homeroom teacher’s speech, 2 dramas, Khmer Fashion Show about 7 colors for 7 days, A Turkish songs, 2 Khmer songs (one of them was sang by

all students from 11E, that song was also sang in Khmer popular music) and a slide show. All the programs above were all had done with an excellent ending.

We were so proud of ourselves that we could did a nice Class Day. Although we had only little time to practice, we really worked hard. Then we had a wonderful time together with our friends and teachers. Lastly, we want to to say thank you to all of our teachers especially Ms. Vesile Kaplan.. **********

Fabulous Show

The 28th of March 2009 was a really wonderful day, because in the morning we had an activity called "Summer Festival" and we had on more special program prepared by all the students in 10F to show their abilities to parents and teachers. We called it "10F Class Day".

These fabulous performances started at 2:30 pm and finished at 5:00 pm. The beginning of the program was the National Anthem.

The 1st program was called "slide show" and it introduced our members to the parents and teachers. The 2nd was "Apsara Dance". The 3rd was "Violin",

followed by "English Drama", and "Khmer Songs".

This brought us to the intermission so we could rest and call our parents to play a game. After the break we had the 6th program called "Action Show", then "Turkish Dance" and "Turkish Song - memleketim". The 9th program was called "pop dance" which featured a very hot Korean song. We also had magic to show our parents. Then it was time for the Lucky Draw.

Everybody was so excited about winning the ticket draw using the door tickets they had been given.

There were 5 gifts for the luckiest guests.

"Chinese song - Wu Fa Gui Lei", then "English Song - Hot and Cold". And finally "Khmer drama" which included a very funny story and a poem to show our true feelings to our parents and teachers. When we finished the reading, we saw many tears in their eyes. The finale was a slide show of our class studying and playing together which showed how much we love each other.

Wow, it was such a nice slide show and at the end of it we performed the song we had prepared together. The song was sung by all of 10F and it thanked our parents and teachers.

They also said our performance was absolutely wonderful and very enjoyable. They hope that the school can put on this kind of activity again.

In fact, we worked very hard and practiced a lot. We felt very nervous about it, but when we heard our parents say they liked it we were very happy and we didn't have the words to describe our feelings. We also want to say thank you to Mrs. Yasemin and Ms. Merve for their support and also for the food and drinks, etc.

8-B Something amazing ,fantastic and wonderful happened in the conference hall on Saturday 23rd May.It was the 8-B class day!!!It ran from 10am to 12 pm, and all the parents,students and teachers joined in this gorgeous day.

We all thought that class day was an event that made your parents,teacher and you have a better relationship.We had lots of great ideas for it.We prepared for our 8-B class day for several weeks.After a discussion,all of us would need lots of practice and material.The students who were responsible for this activity would bring their materials and practice on any subject that they chose.We prepared many programs like a Khmer sketch,English sketch,English s o n g , K h m e r s o n g , Tu r k i s h song,a competition,lucky draw and a slide show.Every day we tried to practice very hard because we wanted to show our talents in difference ways about what we have learned.After practicing,we all needed to decorate our show but our homeroom teacher (Mr.Mustafa Ercan)had everything under control.After we had practiced for several weeks,we prepared to show our talents.When the day came,we all came to school to practice first.When is was 10 o’clock the student’s parents and other teachers started to come to our 8-B class day.We gave them lucky draws and chocolates to

thank them for coming our class day.When all the parents and the other teacher found their seats,we started our show and followed our schedule.The funniest and most interesting was the competiton.Our competition was eating biscuits and withstanding icy water.Also we had lucky draws and the winner received a peresent.We did our programs perfectly and on time.At the end of our

show,we had a slide show about the 8-B students.All of the parents were so happy to see their childrens improvements and it made them prout of their talent and hard work.After our show finished,we invited all the parents,students and teachers to have snacks.All of the parents were taling excitedly to their sons.After finishing the snacks,all of the parents and students said goodbye to our

homeroom teacher and left with beautiful smiles on their face.I would like to thank my friends who cared and worked very hard for 8-B class day.Also I would like to thank our homeroom teacher (Mr.Mustafa Ercan) for supporting us from the start till the end.I hope I will have another class day like this one again. *********

8-E

Class Day

At 9:50am on Saturday the 2nd of May 2009, 8E students were waiting nervously and excitedly behind the stage. There were only 10 minutes left before we would hit the stage and perform for our parents and teachers.

The students greeting team were welcoming the guests to give them their lucky numbers for the luck draw. Some other students were calling their parents to tell them to hurry. At precisely 10 o'clock, our class day started.

Our class day was divided into 3 parts: the English part, Khmer part and Turkish part.

The presenters had to wear the proper clothes for each part.

There were many programs such as songs, poems, drama, sketches, comedy shows, games and the lucky draw. The first program of the day was an English song called "I don't think about it". One of the programs had a question for homeroom teacher Mrs Kadriye Yildiz. It was a surprise question which asked her how she feels about our class.

She responded excitedly that she is very happy with our class and she would like to say thank-you to all the parents and teachers for coming to our class day.

There were two games called

"Cutting Onion" and the "Fruit" game. Both games were equally enjoyable. As the program went on, we could see a pleasant smile on every single face of our guests. Funny show was one of the most amazing shows in our program. Our class day and

continued smoothly until the end of the show where we sang our class song together called "Millions of Hopes". When the program ended, each student went to the canteen to have some snacks together with their parents and our homeroom

teacher also joined them. After two weeks of practice and preparation accompanied by a lot of nervous feelings, we had eventually made it. *********

FIELD TRIP

8-C Champion Celebration At Koh Kong On the 30th of May 8C headed to Koh Kong to celebrate our victory. We were so excited that our class was going on a trip again. This trip included 10 students, 2 teachers, 1 kid and 1 driver. Around 6:00 all my fellow students had come and were ready to go. 6:10 came and we left ZIS and started our trip. We stopped near the train station to buy food and drink. Then it was 6:30 and we continued on our trip to Koh Kong, stopping only once at Loak Yeay Mao. Later, we got out of the car and washed our faces and started praying. At 10:20 am we arrived at Tra Peang Roung and we ate some food. All the students at my table ate double the usual because we hadn't eaten breakfast that morning, just some croissants and brownies. When we finished our lunch we started taking some pictures and got some fresh air.

At 11:40 am we arrived in Koh Kong at last. We went directly to Ta Poun waterfall and we found it to be a relaxing place. Now that we were in Koh Kong we walked around and took some more pictures. Then it was 12:30 pm and it started to rain so it was time for us to leave.

We continued our trip and went to Prey Koung Kang; it was very relaxing as well. There are many trees, crabs, fish and snakes there. After a very long walk we arrived at the hanging bridge.

When we crossed that bridge some of our friends began to feel dizzy. It was a lot of fun. After that we went up to a watch tower and we saw many things and it was so beautiful. The we rented a boat and returned to the parking area. On the way we took a lot of pictures and enjoyed the scenery. After 5 minutes we arrived at our car and we headed to our hotel. Our hotel was located on the other side of a river so we had to cross the bridge. When we arrived ath the hotel we all shouted "8C!! 8C!!

8C!! Mr. Baris!! Mr. Baris!! Mr. Baris!!" and some of us started singing. Inside the hotel we were so tired we were glad that Mr. Baris checked us into 4 room.

We headed to our rooms with some people still singing and a few even dancing. When we entered our room I headed to the bathroom first because it had

been a long day so far. Then Mr. Baris came to my room and asked us if we were ready to go for a swim. That's when all my roommates joined up with our 10 other friends and we swam for a few hours before heading back to

our rooms for a quick rest and to get ready to go to dinner. At 7:30 we left for dinner, arriving at the restaurant soon after. We were seated in the VIP room, where we ordered our food and drink. It took us until 9:30 to finish.

Somebody noticed 23 cans of soda and 2 large bottles of water in the recycling bin, which surprised us. Back at the hotel we caught crabs and had a lot of fun doing it. Vatanak in our class caught the biggest and Jason

killed a lot of crabs. We told him to kick the crabs out of the way but he wanted to step on them.

By then it was 11:00 pm so we went back up to our rooms to get

some sleep.

Unfortunately Jason kept talking to everyone and it kept them awake. It was midnight before we went to sleep and at 5: am we woke up. I was

showers one at a time so we didn't start down to grab some breakfast until 7:30. At the restaurant we ate a lot of food again. Ordering noodles was difficult though because the chef was from Thailand, so I had to ask Piseth to order it for me.

Piseth helped a lot of people to order their food that morning.

Safari world was our next stop.

We got there at 9:00 am and started taking pictures. At 9:30 the show started so we hurried to the bird show, which was very interesting. The next show was the dolphin show and Mr. Baris and Vatanak were chosen to be kissed by the dolphins. After the show finished we left Safari world and started the trip back to Phnom Penh, leaving Koh Kong at 12:30 and arriving at Tra Peang Roung. We stopped there for 30 minutes to get some lunch and then we continued to Phnom Penh without stopping.

At last we arrived in Phnom Penh at 6:00 and we all started heading home. Special thanks to our homeroom teacher Mr. the first one out of bed so I took Baris and our Khmer civic one look at everybody still teacher. sleeping so I kicked them awake and jumped on them too.
