What is I-SWEEEP? I-SWEEEP, the International Sustainable World (Energy, Engineering and Environment) Project Olympiad, is a groundbreaking science fair open to middle and high school students. It is the largest science fair event of its kind World Wide. ISWEEEP is organized by the Cosmos Foundation, a non-profit organization, with the support of K-12 public school systems, leaders of industry, and higher education institutions. From that I l e a r n e d th e p u r p o s e o f ISWEEEP.

The objectives of I-SWEEEP are: - To spark interest and awareness in our planet’s sustainability challenges. - To help young people gasp the extent of these issues. - To find workable solutions to these challenges. - To accelerate the progress towards a sustainable world by engaging youths at an early age. I-SWEEEP was invited students who were interested in becoming future engineers to go to the city of Houston, Texas, USA. There were 3 main categories: Energy, Engineering, and Environment. There were two divisions in IS W E E E P F a i r. T h e j u n i o r division is ONLY open to US students attending classes in grades 6 through 8. The senior division is open to both US and international students attending classes in grades 9 through 12. All students MUST register their

projects online through the ISWEEEP website and submit the required paperwork. A few days later, my teacher called me and some students from my class to meet Monika. In that meeting, Monika told us many things about the process of entering I-SWEEEP and further information regarding ISWEEEP. Eventhough the senior division was open to grades 9-12, I was uncertain about entering the Olympiad because I am only in grade 11. Despite this, I still believed I had a chance of success. First, I had to search for a project which suited Cambodian issues. At that time, it was not easy for me because there weren’t any new projects in my mind.
