CAMBODIAN HISTORY QUIZ
“History is a guide to navigation in perilous times. History is who we are and why we are the way we are” says a famous motto. make Zaman students aware who they are and build their future with the lessons they take from the past. Our main goal is basically to help them know their past. It was glad to see the students studying hard for the quiz and taking it serious. Also the increase in their interest on their history and culture is worth appreciation. The students from grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 were allowed to enter the competition. They prepared questions about Cambodian History from course books and these were checked by several history teachers. Quiz questions were chosen among them. One student from 9-A, 10-A, 11-A and 12-A each formed a group. The students of B, E and F branches also formed a group in the same way, which totally made 4 students in each group. Also each of them was named with a city name. The quiz was presented by Mr. Hakan, English Teacher. At the very beginning of the quiz, our school principle Mr Osman
KARACA gave his speech which also focused on the importance of history and culture: “History preserves the traditional and cultural values of a nation, and serves as a beacon light, guiding society in confronting various crises. History is indeed “a bridge connecting the past with the present and pointing the road to the future.” Due to history; we come to know who we are and where we are coming from. So, we must not forget our past, take lessons from the past and plan the future accordingly. Today, we are honored to present this quiz.
