PATH TO SUCCESS S t u d e n t s : H i M r. O S M A N Thanks for your time this morning. If you don` t mind, I`d like to start by learning a little about your professional history. 2- Students: Could you tell us about your background? 2- I am 35 years old. I was born in Islahiye, Gaziantep, a city in south of Turkey. My father is a retired civil servant from the government and my mother is a house wife. I have got three sisters. My parents shifted to Tarsus, Mersin when I was 4 years old. I studied Primary School and Middle School in Tarsus. After middle school, I won scholarship and studied at Vocational Environment High School in Ankara, capital city of Turkey. After completing this special high school I started to work in Health Department 6 years in Ankara as Turkish Literature and Lanan environmental technician and guage, Education Department at at the same time I continued my Gazi University, education. After graduation from I resigned from my job and went to India to work as a representaZAMAN NEWSPAPER tive of a Turkish private company Zaman, Publisher for about 6 years. In 2001, I did Kadriye Yildiz, Editor-in Chief my compulsory military service in Gurkan Cil, Editor at Large Turkey, and then I came to work in Cambodia. This is my fifth year Prepared By 12-F in Cambodia. I am married. I have one daughter and son. My wife is an English teacher, working in ZAMAN International School. 3- Students: What kinds of things did you like to do when you were a boy? 3- I was an active boy. I used to go around with my friends, visit museums, gardens, and historical places etc. in the city. I used to study enough to be successful in the class. I used to play football a lot.
Because of being only son in the family, I used to help my parents on shopping, paying bills, doing some small housework, and until graduation from the high school, I worked in many places during school holidays to cover my expenses and contribute to my family income.
6- Students: What are your interests outside of education?
6- I used to play football before I got injury on my knee. I like playing table tennis and chess. I like reading books, traveling, visiting new places and watching movies.
