Exploration Of Design: Material in Foc Ever wondered, How the shapes in nature are fluid and not rigid?

The question is why can’t our spaces be fluid and free flowing as well? And nature is constantly screaming with all its shapes and scents: water, leaves, plants, birds, flowers, with the message of fluidity. Best shapes always come from nature. So why change?

Well here I’ve tried to address this into my design by reducing the rigidity of spaces and transforming sharp lines to smooth curves and expression and hence forming fluid and flexible space.

Studio: NeeD There is a need of designing affordable housings in future yet not compromising in the quality of spaces. PRASAAR, located at Mahatma Phule Mandai, Pune, is a concept of compact living for 2-3 people which offers an experiential living in terms of recreational zones and interesting spill out spaces formed by the existing pods. A sense of Movement and pause is achieved by creating sunken sitting areas at certain zones. These sunken spaces are best experienced in the evening as it has a radioactive ring inside.

While moving in the spill out spaces user would be intrigued to follow the movement path as the pods are placed in an interesting manner following the centripetal organization. Interior of the pod is designed such that it follows the language of the overall pod and has a modern touch to it. A design which is minimal, monochrome yet appealing is the idea behind the color scheme of the pod.

Movement & Pause Centripetal organisation PRASAAR is an attempt of creating a dramatic experience while moving within the space. The quality of space i.e movement and pause is achieved by a sunken space which will be the pause point of the pod and centripetal organisation is also followed while designing the form as well as designing the over all layout.

Design Geometry in Tiny Spaces The literal meaning of ‘Abhinay’ is ‘Acting’. Hence, this apartment (Crescent Sky Heights) located in Dahisar East, Mumbai is an abode for an aspiring drama director and a writer.
