• Corbusier used reinforced and concrete masonry to create villa Savoye, the use of reinforced concrete is a practice from the early 20th century.Villa Savoye was the vision of Corbusier’s 5 points to a new architecture, and included his idea and concept of open plan and free space. In order to do this Corbusier had to use a material that had strong structural integrity of which is achievable using reinforced concrete. It can be used to create complex shaped due to flexibility and mailability. This was used to make the intricate stair case along with the ramp formation that’s a consistent throughout the villa. These aspects would have been casted in a mould as a single modular and transported to the site.

• The columns both internal and external were also made of reinforced concrete with a steel beam as skeleton, this is to enhance the structural integrity.

• The floors are made of different types of wood. The most repetitive was laminated timber. Laminated wood was a very new concept at this time.
