Dynaimc Community Center

Course: Graduation Project

Location: Nablus - Aldanimark Park

Team: Zaid Shoman & Hussam Abualrub

This Project will represent the significant solutions that the old city of nablus is in need for, such as; parkings , lack of open spaces and unused ones that form an important outlet for residents. This would be the perfect reason to use dynamic architecture as a design approach to ensure that whatever is built in this space will not only be transformable but have different functions and shapes across different time spans.

So the idea was creating a community hub using dynamic structures and techniques which will house different functions for different time periods, and different occasions, such as: Car parking, Community halls, Library, Mosque, Multipurpose halls, Outdoor green spaces, Gym, Arts and Crafts areas, micro mobility center and more vital functions that are missing in this old town and surrounding.

Programmatic Diagram And Dynamic Details

This exploded 3d diagram represent the massing configuration and functions included. Moreover, these dynamic details show the structuraldesign and movement of slabs, interior and exterior walls used in the project in order to fullfill the needs and functions of the community center.

Page 9 Arch. Design I Graduation Project

Dynamic Cube Scenarios

Walls and slabs used in the cube are flexable and movable so they can form different indoor and outdoor spaces with different functions that meet the needs of peolpe and the center users. Mainly, there is three scenarios the cube can form in addition to the default scenario which is public garden.
