Loving On Our Youth

“LOVING ON OUR YOUTH” – AN OUTREACH FOR OUR MILLENNIAL GENERATION

On behalf of “Loving On Our Youth” which is a movement outreach for the millennial generation. Our sponsors are Yes We Can Newspaper and META Point, a 501(C) nonprofit organization. We would like to introduce “Loving On Our Youth” to you. Its purpose is for our children, youth and young people within the Inland Empire.

It is our hope that all parents will read this information and allow their children to become a part of “Loving On Our Youth.”

Parent please consider joining up with this movement. There are so many outside sources taking our children into negative thoughts and places. We are here to make sure they get the positive energy from life; to have safe surroundings and freedom to express who they are and have fun at the same time. Our children futures are at hand, they will be the leaders of our great country, the United States of American in about 10 to 15 years. They will be running this great country as Parents, Educators, Presidents, Corporate Leaders, Doctors, Lawyers and the list goes on and on. Truly it is a family affair with “Loving On Our Youth.” Its takes a village in raising and supporting our children.

We come to Encourage; to Empower; to Inspire; and to Boost the Morale of all our children. Everyone is involved regardless of ethnicity. The main true emotion behind this outreach is LOVE to let them know that We Love Them and Will Be Their To Support Them. We’ve Got Their Backs.

A little information on how we interact with your children. We give special events at different venues, we are mobile we move through-out the Inland Empire.

This is what happens at these events, we have speakers, both young and old to speak 5 minutes each. Yes, we feel young people have quite a bit that they can share to their own peers. They can also help us to know

what we can do as parent to keep that generational gap from getting any larger. We have adult speakers to come and share their testimonies and/or pertinent information for 5 minutes. The events are positive, structured and thought out. Great entertainment is provided for them and gifts are given away within the program. Once the program is over refreshments and more gifts are presented to every child. Here again the gift is our way of saying to your child “Loving On Our Youth” is what we do, it’s a special statement of LOVE that they will remember when they think about it.

We have plan for several future events coming up in the months of August, September and December of this year. Contact us so we can let you know the exact dates.

Also, we are now seeking participants for our First Annual “Loving On Our Youth Movement Explosion Day” which will be in May next year 2016. We expect hundreds of youth to come together for a great day of fun. Gifts will be handed out to the youth throughout the day. The day will be filled with many contests involving all kinds of categories such as singing, dancing, acting, lip syncing, rapping, and so on. We plan to have a 100 plus youth choir to sing on that day and we need your children to be a part of that choir. On Saturday I went to a youth program called “Loving on our Youth.” All I can say is that it was a fantastic event. We had lots of youth and adults there that listened to all the things the speakers had to say, including me since I was one of them.

We all talked about our experiences, where we were in life, how we got out of it, and how the youth need to strive to be successful and good people. A few of the testimonies really moved me personally because they hit close to home. One of them was from a man who was shot in the head back in the days where he was in a really negative gang environment, how he went into a coma for fifteen days, and how he started to change his life. Another one of them was from a mother who had lost 2 of her kids to drugs, and the most recent one she had to bury literally one month ago, but she’s still staying strong and praying to God everyday, as well as taking care of her other children and making sure that they’re safe and get the things that they need in order to be successful in life.

The children at the event loved being there, we had music playing, people singing, and gifts being given away, so they were all pretty excited and were all smiling and being obedient. I even won something. Not only that, but everyone got a free gift baggy at the end, mine contained cell earplugs, a portable fan, and some school supplies. There was a nice crowd there, which was good, but I know that I’m going to try and get more youth and young people to come to the next event. It was a really positive environment, everyone was friendly and more than willing to offer advice. Another good thing about the event was that there was free food at the end.

Another one of the testimonies that really grabbed my attention was from a teacher who talked about going out and doing things for people like volunteering and feeling good about it instead of taking drugs that make you feel good. I personally spoke about how you can motivate yourself to get out of any negative environment. I am 17 years old and I know one needs to be motivated to succeed, and not to let dreams be dreams, you’ll only get as much as you give, so give it your all and watch your life change for the better.

I can’t wait until the next event so I can see all the speakers again, and maybe I’ll get to speak on something else. As long as even one person takes it to heart and uses the advice, then that’s success right there. Whatever your story is and whoever you are, regardless of race and orientation, the Loving On Our Youth Outreach is a movement here to help direct the millennial generation and to definitely let us know that we are loved. They made it very clear to all of the youth in attendance that we would be running our country, The United States of America in 10 to 15 years and that they want us to be ready and equipped in all areas of our lives. Loving on the youth is what the outreach is showing.

How Youth can Impact the Lives of Seniors

You can see the elderly teaching our youth about certain responsibilities and manners, as well as showing them life skills, be it big or small. You can also see our youth helping out our senior citizens by helping them do the things the elderly can’t do as easily anymore, like walking around or helping out around their house. As a youth I believe that these 2 age groups are very beneficial to each other, here’s a good example.

With the ever advancing technology these days, most elderly people can only barely use something like a new laptop or a new phone while youth can use it with proficiency and with ease, and youth can also help out the elderly with learning how to use the new technology. On the other hand, the senior citizens can teach youth about things that aren’t taught as much anymore, like good manners and how to budget your finances and stories and speeches, as well as general conversations over the lives of your adolescence, growing us into who we are.

My friend likes to tell me about some stories about his father. One story being that as he was running from enemy mortar fire during the Vietnam war and ruined his knee trying to break through a foxhole. The theme is that that life isn’t always the best. Even when the theme isn’t verbally expressed, you understand from a show instead of tell, giving more of an impact.

Stories like these help grow our children into young adults and help them learn from the elderly as a younger child or teenager.

Some older people can actually learn from our younger kids as well. Teachers say all the time “I learn a lot from students,” and this statement is true even if they already learn things like manners. They’re still life lessons and other knowledge to be had when you’re old and talking to someone younger, as being old, of course, doesn’t give you infinite wisdom. A lot of the time older people forget what they learned in school, so something as simple as their child showing them what they’re learning can mean a lot to the mother or father.

From the birds and the bees to geometry, the young and the old bounce back and forth lessons and knowledge to greater each other’s lives. So be it with technology, stories, and just the simple explanation on how life works, both the elderly and the young can help each other out in life. In this case, if some is good, more is better, which means that if you’re a part of either age group, talk to each other more and help each other out.

Grandparents got a new computer that they don’t know how to work? Help them out by showing them how to use it. Grandchildren going through a new experience in their life that you’ve already gone through? Help them out by telling them about your experience and how you got through it.

Rap Music, and our Kids

As I begin, let me state that rap is not just for the people in our society who do drugs, alcohol, and commit violent acts. There are many rap songs in the mainstream that can promote the negative aspects of our lives. You can find many rappers today promoting drugs, gang violence, and sex. It can be overwhelming, but this is more so singling out rap, as other forms of music can relay the same messages.

You can find more underground, as well as older hip hop focusing on the good aspects of our lives, saying no to the bad, and saying no to the ugly. Some songs to name being “Beef Rap”, talking about the beef and problems between rappers with a more positive “say no to violence” towards the subject. As well as “Juicy” by the Notorious B.I.G., promoting what it’s like to get out of the struggle of being in the hood, and thinking of his friends still in that hood. Finally, a song by DMX, called “The Rain”, talking about how only you can change your life and problems, for the better. Of course you can have help, but it all comes down to you.

Obviously, I can’t just talk about the good in rap. There are plenty of songs, especially being popular in our youth, that talk about and promote things like sex, alcohol, but in my opinion, music is a means of expressing someone’s feelings, not to change someone’s views. Most people are joined to the temptations of bad things, as people can think it’s more fun, and thrilling. As well as the fact that our youth sometimes can’t see the consequences, as not going through too many in their lives.

Another thing to note is that people with certain personalities can listen to music that is similar to how they feel or songs that match their personalities. This explains why there are so many songs promoting the bad, as our youth, in a rebellious stage in their life, lean towards the negative music. It explains why they’re so popular in today’s society. At the same time, the older and more underground hip hop could go to the more adult or mature audience, leaving out the adolescent behavior.

Next, there are plenty of songs that talk about committing or supporting violent acts. One of the last things is the fact that people think that bad music will lead to doing these violent acts. I can see music having a mental effect on the listener, but not to the point following through with something that started out as a theme to a song.

In other words, people won’t go out and do bad things just because they heard a song.

Something else is, negative music helps vent feelings and frustrations of the listener, instead of promoting ideas, and it helps calm them. Lastly, you shouldn’t be worried about the theme of a negative song, you should instead think of the positives of the songs that mentally affect the listener for the good.

Summer Vacation

I’m at Lyle Creek Camping for three wonderful days. This short trip is way past due. Daniel and I have worked hard and deserve this time.

The reason I love to go camping is I don’t lift one finger, if I don’t want too. We are with my Brother In Law with his family, Reggie and Anna along with their two children and Ann’s mother who has joined us. Daniel and I have a Pop Up camper and my Brother In Law they have a three-bedroom tent.

Well, my Sister In Law loves to cook. She cooks so much food that all I have to do is eat. Also our Pop Up camper has surround view, when we un-zip the windows.

The love of my life in this world, is where I can see nature and it’s beauty. Lyle Creek has waterfalls, parks, deer we can watch, many squirrels running around and birds singing which I love to hear. Daniel spoils me by bringing me special treats to eat and drink that he knows I love.

There are many families also here. I love looking at the children running, riding their bikes, playing hide-and-seek; something I don’t see anymore in our communities.

I really don’t see too many kids unless they are on their cell phones or iPods and what a shame, some kids miss out on camping trips. Have a happy and safe summer!

THE WORD More Miracles Now Than Bible Days

I have read the Bible from cover to cover.

I’ve read the many miracles. There was the beginning in Genesis about the creation of the earth. The Moses miracles and curses alike. Of course, none compares to the miracles of Jesus, from the rising of Lazarus to my favorite, turning water into wine. I could use that miracle often.

So people, particularly atheist and agnostics, often ask why aren’t there similar miracles now? We don’t see the Red Sea splitting, nor do we see, unfortunately, water into wine. Well, I do know they use water to make beer, and soda, and orange juice. Water is not used much in making wines, but a ton of it is used for the vineyards.

Back then, when miracles happen, they credit God. Today, we give less credit to God and more to technology and science. Oh we thank God, but a miracle is a term not much used when a person is cured for cancer.

Instead they give credit to medicine and doctors. When an airplane that survives a potential crash, we give credit to the pilot and crew. We see often when an unconscious

victim of a car accident, people would risk their own lives to play hero and rescue the victim.

Miracles are happening everyday. But who gets credit? God or science or humans? What’s to notice is that as humans live better and get more advanced, lives are more likely to be saved because we are very protected.

Planes are built better, so are cars, buildings, medicine, and technology. We credit each other before we credit God or the heavens.

We often say that the birth of a child is a miracle, and it is. However, when a couple resorts to IVF who gets the credit? The doctors? Science?

I’m not intending to start a debate between God and humans, but we should be aware that as humans we are given intuition. We are given a mind. With that mind we make choices, to decide, to study and interpret. As time goes on, our knowledge grows. We make the world better and safer. Our critical thinking grows and solutions are formulated. The ability to do this is a gift and no man created that gift. For that, we should be thankful.

Reflection: Making Life a Variety

Ever since I started the 1st year of my high school life, whether I woke up tiringly after last night’s swim practice to the moment when I woke up noticing this will be a Saturday, doing a community service project for three different clubs, from the moment when I yelped crazily, looking at my grades online, to the moment when I am dealing with social conflicts just to give a little help on homework or struggling to attach my campaign poster that says “Vote For Me As Your ASB Representative,” I had never experienced this whole catastrophe had already taken up part of my childhood life.

Forgetting about the enjoyment I had the whole time since middle school, I couldn’t seem to understand why it gets harder, since I entered the high school entrance door, to get a

reward I really wanted in which I thought would be useful in life. Then I realized, during this whole summer’s rest, that I had done my very best and I just had to go on with enough patience to take it in. Well, I’m sure you are living a lifestyle similar to mines and it can be an enormous struggle like a lion stripping off your back. But let’s look in the spiritual aspect because nothing in this world can help us live on forever with all this time taken out in your life.

First, you need to know how much Jesus loves us. As you have the understanding

of God’s love for you, you should return the same love to God as you see the greatest commandment in Matthew 22: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Same here for the second commandment: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you don’t know how to love God, how can you love others?

You also need the unique qualities of love because it enacts perseverance, humbleness, protection, trustworthiness, and hopefulness. For 1st Corinthians 13 says: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.” You need to first be open to how the Bible explains coming to Christ. Believe in God. Understand that He is real. Understand the Bible describes Jesus as the only begotten son of God.

Next, allow God to change you. As a follower of Jesus, you cannot change yourself, only God can through his Son. Ezekiel 36:26-27 said “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” A true Christian, when converted, will immediately notice an unavoidable change in sensitivity to his daily routine. They will begin to question their taste in movies, music, clothing, even friends! The Bible says in James 1:21 “Therefore, rid yourselves of everything impure and every expression of wickedness, and with a gentle spirit welcome the word planted in you that can save your souls.

Imagine without asking for God’s help for the next 100 years, how are you going to deal with the career you lose, the husband/wife you have an argument with, your car that someone is hacking, you bank dealing with bankruptcy, your relative that someone has murdered, cancer you have never known of until the next visit to your doctor’s office, or earning a bad grade in a hard class? Do not wait until any of this happens because I tell you, there is hope. Hope that the Lord will make your life a variety with his mission.

I promise that He will stay close to each one of you, no matter what situation each one of you is facing. Only if you pursue and ask for His help through prayer!

Jesus in Jail

We are living in a day where criminals are being incarcerated on a daily basis. According to the United States Department of Justice, approximately 1.5 million people were incarcerated in state and federal prison systems in 2013. Most of these people face tough sentences for their crimes, and will be locked up for a majority of their lives.

Inevitably, these inmates are viewed as outcasts by society, and many feel forsaken during their separation from loved ones. Prison is a place where the incarcerated experience a significant loss because everything they had on the outside is taken away. Some don’t know if they will ever get it back. In prison, the matters of life and death are intensified, and the search for purpose seems unreachable. Hence the reason there is a great need to reach the lost who are behind bars.

Throughout the Inland Empire, there are multiple Christian organizations that visit jails and prisons. One of these ministries is the prison ministry at Harvest Christian Fellowship, under the leadership of The men of Harvest Christian Fellowship Prison Ministry. Back: Pastor Aaron Adame, Ted Jenkins. associate pastor Aaron Adame. Every week, several dedicated members Middle: Charlie Sample, Brian Sheppard, Brian Jenks. Front: Scott Allen, Ed Currier, Reggie Woolery. get together with prison ministry director, Ted Jenkins, and visit jails in Jenkins explains that his perspective for this ministry did not come to him Riverside County. What they do is special.

Jenkins leads a team of fifteen seasoned believers who are approved and naturally, but rather by the Holy Spirit. He didn’t simply wake up one day and say, experienced to share the gospel with inmates. “What we do is go into the jails and “I want to do prison ministry!” Instead, God put it on his heart and opened a door provide a Bible study. At the end of our time together, we make sure to ask anyone if of opportunity for him. This enabled him to share with inmates the greatest story of they want to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.” Jenkins sends his teams in forgiveness and redemption ever told.

One of the inmates who previously attended Harvest’s prison ministry gatherings pairs for safety and security; men with men, women with women. Each Bible study was significantly impacted by Jenkins and his team. Adam Pursell, 26, married with meeting is around 60-90 minutes. Once everyone is gathered together, they begin their two kids, went to one of the Bible studies when he was serving time behind bars.

Bible study and end with an opportunity for inmates to make a profession of faith.

During a Bible study Jenkins was teaching, Pursell told him, “See you in two weeks.”

What makes this ministry special is the goal of the Bible study, which is to teach Jenkins was use to hearing things like this from inmates, so he didn’t think too much biblical truth so inmates know that God personally cares about them. Jenkins adds, about it.

When Pursell was released from jail, he started attending Harvest as his home and will be praying for them. Jenkins wants their ministry to make a life-changing church.

His life started to radically change. When asked about the impact of Harvest’s impact. prison ministry, Pursell commented, “Prison has so many negative elements, so Many people might not understanding why someone would go into a jail to when the positive elements were introduced in Ted’s Bible study, it helped me and minister to inmates. If you think about it, we are all in a type of imprisonment. The Bible declares we are all slaves to our own sin and deserve the just penalty for being rebellious towards God (Romans 3:9-20). Yet, Jesus Christ came to die for the ungodly in order to forgive all sins and provide eternal life for those who would believe in him (Romans 5:8; Galatians 3:22-23). Jesus has come to set all of us free from the imprisonment of sin, and give us the opportunity to restore our lives (2 Cor. 5:17). It reads in Psalm 107:13-14, “Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces.” God promises to save sinners. God wants us to cry out to him in our trouble. God can save all criminals because the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.

Ted Jenkins goes to the jails to let inmates know there is a God in heaven who wants to break their chains of sin and give them freedom in Christ. Adam Pursell was one of these inmates, and now he has the testimony to go into the jails and do the same thing to reach the lost behind bars. Prison ministry may not be for everyone, but it is a necessary ministry for some.

Forgotten Heroes They were the best of times; they were the worst of times.

The effects on a man’s soul are limitless; when it comes to a bloody battle we call war.

The entire account can never be retold. There will always be facts missing, exaggerated points, or skewed visions. When told we can only close our eyes and pray to God it wasn’t ever that bad. During the Vietnam War, or the ‘unpopular war,’ many men faced things unimaginable today. Soldiers kept quiet to avoid the pain and humiliation that American citizens put them through upon coming home. Often times the soldiers discarded their uniforms to avoid public humiliation. They faced rejection and verbal, sometimes physical assault. Needless to say the war was not a welcomed topic. Just as in Tim O’Brien’s short story of ‘How to Tell a True War Story,’ the American people were not so supportive. Just after Bob Kiley lost his best friend, Curt Lemon, he decided to write his sister and speak of how great of a brother she had had. He went on how they became brothers and how he was one of the best men he knew. He told her how he had made the war almost fun, and what a great sense of humor he carried. His letter was never given a response. Just as quickly as Curt had died; Bob’s letter would be forgotten.

There’s a story of two Vietnam Vets from the state of Massachusetts who had always felt as if they were forgotten heroes. They heard mention of a war memorial in Washington that would consist of a wall with the names of every lost soul engraved into its granite. As soon as they heard of its release date they hit the open road. In some way they felt as if it were to be a homecoming long denied for the veterans in a black period in our nation’s history. They had hoped their participation in the war would be put into a better perspective, that even though the war was bad, the soldiers were not. To them it was as if the memorial brought the Vietnam War out of the closet, and into the public consciousness.

The reunion that weekend was indescribable; soldiers had reunited with their patrol groups and old comrades. A tearful event to some, and an overall appreciated gesture for everyone. A fitting tribute from Philip Caputo’s book, “A Rumor of War” “So much was lost with you, so much talent and intelligence and decency…you embodied the best that was in us. You were a part of us, and a part of us died with you, the small part that was still young, that had not yet grown cynical, grown bitter and old with death… whatever the rights or wrongs of war, nothing can diminish the rightness of what you tried to do…you were faithful. Your country was not… the country for which you died wishes to forget the war in which you died. It’s very name is a curse…but there are a few of us that do remember because of the small things that made us love you—your gestures, the words you spoke, and the way you looked. We loved you for what you were, and what you stood for.” (Stauffer)

Another testimony from the short story is from a man named Mitchell Sanders. “God’s truth, a six-man patrol goes up in to the mountains on a basic listeningpost operation. The idea’s to spend a week up there, just lie low and listen for enemy movement. They’ve got a radio along, so if they hear anything suspicious –anything— they’re supposed to call in artillery or gunships, whatever it takes. Otherwise they keep strict field discipline. Absolute silence. They just listen. “So, after a couple days the guys start hearing this real soft, kind of wracked-out gook music. Weird echoes and stuff. Like a radio or something, but it’s not a radio, it’s this strange weird music that comes right out of the rocks. Faraway, sort of, but right up close, too. They try to ignore it. But it’s a listening post, right? So they listen. And every night they keep hearing this crazy weird concert. All kinds of chimes and xylophones. I mean, this is wilderness—no way, it can’t be real—but there it is, like the mountains are tuned in to radio Hanoi.

“Naturally they get nervous. One guy sticks Juicy Fruit in his ears. Another guy

almost flips. Thing is, though, they can’t report music. They can’t get on the horn and call back to base and say, ‘Hey, listen, we need some firepower, we got to blow away this weird gook rock band.’ They can’t do that. It wouldn’t go down. So they lie there in the fog and keep their mouths shut. And what makes it extra bad, see, is the poor dudes can’t horse around like normal. Can’t joke it away. Can’t even talk to each other except maybe in whispers, all hush-hush, and that just revs up the willies. All they do is listen.

“These six guys are pretty fried out by now, one night they start hearing voices.

Like at a cocktail party. That’s what it sounds like, this big swank gook cocktail party somewhere out there in the fog. Music and chitchat. They hear champagne corks, actual martini glasses. Then chamber music, all theses different voices. Not human though, the rock—it’s talking. Along with the grass, and mongooses. The trees talk politics, the monkeys talk religion. All of Nam talks. “The guys lose it, get on the radio and report enemy movement—a whole army, they say—and they order up the firepower. All night long, they just smoke those mountains. They make jungle juice. They blow away trees and glee clubs and whatever else there is to blow away. The colonel wants answers, and they just stare at him sort of amazed, the whole war in that stare.

It says everything you can’t say. It says you don’t even want to know. They salute him and walk away, because some certain stories you don’t ever tell.” This is such a great example as to why these soldiers needed America’s support. They didn’t need to go through this alone. They needed a helping hand, someone willing to listen, no matter how crazy the story. People just need to talk about things to be able to move on from such catastrophic psychological damage. Concluding this analysis of a time when it was everyman for himself, America needed to stop and reconsider what it was they held dear?

What they valued in a community dedicated to helping others? It certainly shouldn’t have been ignoring the people who defended our freedom. But rather, showering them with love and appreciation, giving them the respect of a hero.

Microsoft has recently announced its newest product for windows operating systems, Windows 10. It looks amazing and user friendly. People are asking themselves “Well I like my Windows 8 computer right now and that was already expensive to get, why should I get windows 10?.”

First off, Microsoft is letting it’s users try Windows 10 for an entire year.

This is good for them so they can work out the bugs in their program and draw more attention to it, and it’s good for Microsoft users because they get to experience a good OS that’s not overly complicated like with some previous versions of windows. When Microsoft says that they want as many computers running Windows 10, they really put effort into making people want to do it.

It has a much faster boot time than previous versions of windows, and looks much more simple because it actually is. It has a wide variety of programs to choose from compared to previous versions of windows, and faster download times, who doesn’t love it when downloads don’t take more than 10 minutes to finish.

Windows 10 is also more secure, so you’re not at as great of a risk of getting Trojans and malware, but you should still install an antivirus program so you can be as safe as possible. From my personal knowledge, I have a friend who has windows 10 on his computer already. He’s a gamer, and we’ve played a couple of matches on our favorite games and his says that the new windows makes things much easier and quicker to do in terms of loading up the game and installing mods.

I don’t know for sure if it makes the computer overall function much more smoothly, but I notice that he doesn’t lag that much in games anymore. As for myself, I’m going to upgrade an old piece of junk computer this summer this summer and put a copy of windows 10 on it because every where I try to find information on it I see only positives. I can’t wait until I can try it out. I’ve always loved Windows Operating Systems, they just make sense to me and they’re much more efficient than other operating systems out there.

The most important part to me about it is the amount of games that are available for windows, and there are exponentially more for windows than other OS’s, such as mac and linux. As for business, Microsoft has always had good office programs on Windows, such as Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Powerpoint, etc. Windows 10 is probably going to come with brand new versions of the entire Microsoft Office series, so if you need a good computer for business, go and get a Windows 10 computer. Overall, I’m pretty excited to try it out, I think it’ll be a great Operating System and will fit all of my needs for work and for gaming.
