YVONNE BLEWETT AND TODD RUBERG !"#$!%&'"$!()"*+",-)./+0 For our July issue, we shine the spotlight on Lake Oswego residents Yvonne Blewett and Todd Ruberg. These two native Oregonians and University of Oregon alumni appropriately met at a Duck game in 2014 ... and have been paddling through life together ever since. “We initially met on Match.com, but our first encounter was at an Oregon Ducks football game,” explained Todd. “Yvonne decided she would walk by and see if she wanted to stop by my tailgater, and we have pretty much been die-hard Duck fans and partners from that day forward!” Todd, who grew up in Milwaukie, OR, graduated from Rex Putnam high school. He then attended the University of Oregon, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Upon graduation, Todd started a long and successful career with Procter & Gamble, where he served as a senior vice president. After 31 years with the company and living in 6 different places, he returned to his home state in 2014 to pursue other interests. Todd is currently with Simpactful, a consumer products and retail consulting firm, of which he is a senior partner and co-founder. Adding to his list of accomplishments, Todd is also the Board Chairman at Portland State University’s Center for Retail Leadership in the School of Business and President of the University of Oregon’s Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni Corp. Yvonne’s professional journey is equally impressive. Raised in the small towns of Prineville, Lakeview, and Baker, OR, Yvonne graduated from Baker High School and later attended the University of Oregon, where she garnered a Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting. After receiving her diploma, she moved to Portland to begin her career as a CPA for the public accounting firms; Perkins & Co and Coopers & Lybrand (aka PWC). Yvonne’s entry into the real estate world began when she decided to get her license to buy some investment properties. “I started selling real estate for personal purposes, which quickly blossomed into my tax clients asking me to handle their transactions,” explained Yvonne. “What started as a secondary interest transformed into a full-blown career. The first year took off, beginning with Rookie of the Year to a Top Producer in my sixteen plus years of Real Estate.”

She considers it a privilege to assist her clients in making one of their most substantial financial investments. Additionally, Yvonne enthusiastically supports several charities and organizations, such as OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society, OSCPA Education Foundation, UO Accounting Circle, and Foundation. We asked Todd and Yvonne what they like most about living in Lake Oswego, to which they replied, “We love all the seasons and especially recreating on Oswego Lake, along with frequenting all of the great spots in downtown LO. In addition, we love the small-town feel and walkability to so many amazing shops and eateries, yet still being just minutes into Portland and surrounding areas.” The couple’s hobbies, including paddling on the Oswego Lake, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and skiing at Mt Bachelor, are among a few of their favorites. Todd also enjoys flyfishing on his beloved Deschutes River. “We are grateful to live in such a great state with many options to enjoy.” While they are empty-nesters, Todd and Yvonne each have two grown children – Stephanie, Ronni, Jacob, and Maddie. They are also blessed with four beautiful granddaughters and another one on the way! Finally, we would be remiss not to mention their two grand pups — Goldendoodles Perry and Rooster — who love to visit their home and be spoiled with numerous walks around the neighborhood.
